    Manar Abu Dhabi

It just really had to be the last day...

I kept on postponing our visiting the various Manar exhibitions around the city. Manar Abu Dhabi is a part of the Public Art Abu Dhabi, a project launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism. Manar is a platform showcasing an array of light artworks that celebrate the natural beauty of the city. It is showcased in several locations in the city.

There were a couple of light installations we found at the Corniche, but what I was really hoping to visit were the ones in Lulu Island and Samaliyah Island. Well, now is too late for that. :D

We strung together two locations on the last day - Saadiyat and Fahid Islands. This post is about our Louvre experience.

Best viewed at the Louvre Garden is the Live Drone Show and Light Painting by Artist Groupe F. Actually, the drone show could also be viewed from the Abu Dhabi Port, albeit far. The experience was better from the Louvre... While waiting for the show, just enjoy this beautiful structure. Why not, right?!

Apart from just viewing the drones at as they do their mind-blowing maneuvers at the sky, you could also see their light painting output on the big screen set up at the garden.

There were four shows that start from 6:00 PM until midnight.

We missed the 6:00 PM drone show and were only able to witness the Light Painting towards the end of the 6:00pm show.

We waited for the next one at 7:30 PM to complete the experience.

Persistence of Form by Groupe F

The drone show lasted for 25 minutes each. During this period the hundreds of drones lit the sky and started to impress the spectators with the different forms they drew, accompanied by music on the ground.

My Little Man called this formation, "cacti". Not really sure what it was, but I'm too easy to impress since I do not know how it is actually done, so I still would rate this as excellent. LOL.

After staying in this formation for a while, the drones made a move to create another formation - these time just various shapes.

The sky was hazy, the moon was hiding behind the clouds. I believe these would have looked better in a clearer sky.

After some time, the shapes moved to form into this cluster. What do you recon it is? I see a car or a military tank.

This one perplexed me the most. My kids say it formed into an eagle at one point, but what I could see was a clam or a plastic bag. LOL.

It was the the last maneuver of the drones until they eventually disappeared behind the Louvre.

Of course, I am sharing a video of the timelapse I captured so you will have a better idea of what I had talked about. 😜
