About granny squares, I’ve worked with another type before which has a flower in the middle. Actually, it is more complex than this one like you said. This one is straight forward and goes faster. The only thing is that changing colors makes it a bit tiring if you plan to do many squares. But the result is always worth it though. I’m more in love with granny squares now.
