All right, someone's got to fill me in here, tell me what's going on. When did R-Type DX on the original Game Boy combination cart from 1999, all of a sudden be worth $35 for just a cart, over $125 for the game complete, and sealed, I don't even want to know? Someone let me know what happened here. Was that the original limited run game? I mean, sheesh. Anyways, on to the topic of this video. Limited run games have announced that they are putting R-type DX for the Game Boy color, and it's compatible. Two versions on the cartridge are compatible with the original Game Boy, just like the original. And that's part of the problem. I mean, it's great that it's only going to be $45 for, you know, right now. It's 45 bucks in pre-order, you know, links in the description below and all the other YouTube, blah, blah, blah. But I just, it's like their phone in and in on this release. And you're sure, they're going with a brand new full-color manual. They're going with, you know, brand-new artwork by Paul Johnson, who's known by as... Oetaking, Oda King, I'm not familiar who this person is, fill me in the comments, who he is, but, I mean, other than that, I mean, there's a, there's a hard shell, you know, or hardcover packaging, you know, it's, I mean, it's, I mean, it just seems like they're phoning it in. I mean, obviously, they're doing nothing to the game, but there's no trinkets, there's no feelys, there's no, no, extras. I mean, like, even in this day and age of 3D prints and stuff, I mean, there's no, there's not even, like, you know, 3D standing, you know, models or anything to go with this. But I can't say the price is, well, quite nice. I mean, $45, you know, is only $10 more than the cost of just a cartridge on eBay. and I'm much less than buying a complete copy, and God only knows how much cheaper than buying a sealed copy of the original game. So, yeah, sure, I mean, in that regard, limited running games is knocking this and out of the ballpark, but it just feels like they're phoning in the rest of it, and I just can't escape that feeling. Anyhow, if you're a fan of scrolling shooters, R-Type DX is getting a new lease on life, some, I mean, new artwork, and, well... a much cheaper price compared to the aftermarket. So, I mean, if you're still rocking a Game Boy or a compatible Game Boy, you know, color device and want to support stuff like this, then support the companies that are doing the stuff that you enjoy. That way we can get more stuff. It's amazing how this works.

@darth-azrael: I think Super R Type was the only version I played extensively. There is a small chance i have an unopened R Type DX somewhere. Probably not but I'll have to check...
