Kiered memory, first-coi of hohoeming, and the Today is a great day. Earth has officially been welcomed into the universal civilization. You played the crucial role in that. Without you and your tremendous efforts that wouldn't have been possible. We therefore honor you on this special day by awarding you... The future I had just seen, it was a terrifying one. And I was the only one who could change it. It's 2002, the euphoria of the new millennium has fizzled out, the economies on life support, and you're clinging to a painfully boring job at a suspiciously shady law firm. You're underpaid, overworked, and, worst of all, single. What to do? Well, mostly nothing. But one rainy afternoon, you walk past an old castle, and suddenly... You're a 1992. How? Why? What? Nobody knows. And somehow, you're smack in the middle of a high school science camp. The same one you were supposed to attend, back before people had a cell phone, and when floppy disks were cool. Sounds awkward? Maybe, but you immediately meet four unique girls. Azuki, Marie, Patty, And Sylvia? Lucky you? Maybe not quite. Marie is at first too shy to say anything. Patty won't shut up about physics. Sylvia is the baroness of Sundare, and her tongue is as sharp as her brush. And Azuki? She's a sci-fi nerd and floats through life like a daydreaming butterfly, a daydreaming butterfly with pink... cat ears, for whatever reasons. Still, you end up in the same class as Azuki and start getting to know the girls. They're... Not so bad. And thus begins your story. Full of romance. No, not with your teacher. Get your head out of the fan fiction. Dramatic events. Yeah, I have a brown belt and taekwendo. But I'm still sorry about this, Sylvia. Fights Against Dragons and Dragon Ladies. Hey, who are you calling a Dragon Lady? Um, sorry. Explosions. It was only a tiny explosion, barely noticeable. This time, it didn't even make a crater. Science fiction stories. Oh, but those aren't stories. I never make things up, it's all true, or is it? The castle on fire or not? He he! And much more. And after one chaotic week, you win the heart of a beautiful Stargirl. No, not her. Not her either. Where are you looking at? I said Stargirl, not Dragon Lady. Cut it out or I'll start spitting fire for real. Oh, um, sorry. Well, where was I? Ah, right, um, here, you, that's her, Azuki, your star girl. Great, are you talking about me? Yes, you, Azuki, the whole story is about you, the girl from the stars. Oh, but I'm not from the stars. I'm from Japan. It's my parents who are from space, 16 Sydney, actually. By the way, did you know that their home planet? Your sci-fi jokes are so funny, Izuki. No, she's not joking. Azuki really is a star girl. Her funny sci-fi stories were actually all true, and her parents are really from space and work for the Earth Observation Unit, checking on the humans on Earth. Basically, they are like rangers in a national park, and we humans are the wildlife there. Now that you mention national parks, Did you know Earth isn't the only nature reserve in the galaxy? There are thousands of them, full of fascinating aliens, too. My parents once told me about this one species on a planet in the Virgo system? Fascinating stuff, Izuki, really. But we do need to get back to the story. The player's already getting twitchy. Wait, player? What do you mean by that? Oh, oops, never mind. Anyway. You leave the science camp, hearts entangled in a star-crossed love, or whatever humans call eternal affection. Love is actually a fascinating psychological phenomenon. If only we had a mathematical model. Thank you, Marie. Wait, so we're not in the story anymore? That's outrageous. I'm a baroness. I demand screen time. Relax, I'll arrange something for you. Maybe in Chapter 5? But for now, let Azuki and him have the spotlight. And anyway, none of you knows anything about their secrets. Wait, what secrets? Oh, um, nothing. Alright, I should probably wrap this up before Marie, our little genius, starts piecing together the whole star people and time travel thing. Okay, long story short, you, formerly a certified loser, are now dating an actual girl from the stars. Hey, how is it ever certified? Right, sorry, but now let's finally start the story. Okay! Hi! Why?
