3D Printing a DIY Mini Server Rack For The Lab by @thelogicaldude on 3Speak
Morning my dudes! I was spinning my wheels all night, didn't get much sleep, really just thinking on how I coudl clean up and reorganize the Logical Labs. So I got up, made some coffee, took the do...

What's happening, everybody? It's your boy, the logical dude, coming at you from an early Saturday morning, straight from the logical labs here, you know? I've been really wanting to, like, clean up. I got, you can't really see, because I keep the lights off, but it's a mess back there, as far as my cables and everything are concerned. And, uh, yeah, I've been wanting to change it up. So, like, I got... The internet box and the router and everything's all over there. You know, I got all these different computers here, here and there. You can kind of see back there, you got cables all over the place. You got a KVM switch up there. The Ethernet switch is down there. It's just a mess, man. You know, that's just, that's what happens when you just kind of like... put stuff together randomly, you know, as you go along, uh, sometimes it just doesn't scale the way that you really want to scale, which is so nice and neat. I like having stuff nice and neat. I like my office to be, you know, organized, you know, at least my chaotic organization, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah. Anyway, so my brain was tied up all night. I got up early, I actually went to bed pretty early last night, but got up early this morning, and, uh... Came in here and started doing some searching. Maker's World found me a really awesome 10 -inch server rack that's going to be a 6 to 8 U scalable server rack that I'm going to be using to set up my routers, my switch, all that kind of good stuff. Probably going to even try to make space for the two MacMennies in there and just have a really nice, neat organization over here on the desk. gonna put the kvm switch in it that's the plan so that i can have all my cables coming out the back tied up all nice and neat i just got what i need going to the big computers and then uh yeah run everything down here into the big power station here so guys can't say that's my dogies office bed but i got three 300 amp hour batteries down here in parallel. So that's like 900 amp hours of solar capacity that I can trap. So that's what I'm trying to run all this off of. I've got the automatic transfer switch over here. That's my solar inverter, the solar charge controller here, MPPT. And then that's the automatic transfer switch right there. So when my batteries get past a certain voltage, it switches over to the grid. So I've got another battery pack sitting over here in the corner that I'm really wanting to hook up the solar to use for my car a lot, but I may have to sacrifice it and put it over here as a secondary battery pack. I've had some issues with, like, the last couple of days with a couple of surge. power surge issues with some storms that came through, and it just so happens to be at the time when it was on the grid, so it kind of screwed all my servers up, so I won't back up. battery capacity and that kind of thing. So that's probably going to happen here pretty soon. So, yeah, I'll make announcements when I'm going to take everything offline and move everything around. It'll probably be next weekend, or maybe after that, I got a partade next weekend, man. I got my boy Madman and his twin brother, Shackster. They're all my FPV buddies. Because we don't go by our real names, we go buy our FPV names, you know, I'm logical FPV, or the logical dude, everybody knows me as either one. And then, yeah, Dirty South FPV Park, man, we got a camp out going on. So if you're in the southeast area and you want to come hang out with a bunch of cool dudes and flies some drones, then I'll make some reservations, DirtySouthFPVPART.com. It's a little plug there. So, yeah, that's what's going on here in the labs on a cloudy and windy. But finally cool! Saturday morning here in the southeastern U.S., man, I'm gonna tell you what. It was a brutal summer, and I'm glad it's over. We finally broke the 90s. Like this week, it was still 90s up until this, you know, it was like 88 yesterday or something like that. So we had a cold front come through in the afternoon, which started cooling things off, but it just made it really, you know, windy and cloudy and stuff like that. So. But that's what I'm doing today is in here, printing up. Get my new server rack printed up here. Then I'm going to start printing the shelves and stuff after the rack's all done. But from the looks of it, this is going to be about a week's worth of printing. So I'll keep you guys up to date on my little home server rack system. And if you guys got some printers, maybe, you know, hey, inspire you to build your own. So, a little short video for you on a Saturday. Have a good one. Be cool. Be real. Always abide. Peace out.

@pairmike: That's a nice lab that you got there. It looks like you do a bit of everything. Posted using BlockTunes
@steevc: Have fun with the rack. It's cool when you can print all the parts you need. I like the one I made. I've got all sorts of music gear too so I want to organise that.
