@brijwhiz: The assumption about second hand musical instruments are that they sure do have character. My first guitar i purchased from a senior in college and it was such a beautiful acoustic guitar. Unluckily it passed on from me to other friends who then passed it on to others. Hopefully a lot of kids learnt on that guitar. It has been quite some time, maybe even a decade, since I tried my hand on an actual kit. I can get my hands moving fine and maybe the kick too but the high hat comes in and all fall apart :D I guess I am best at bass drum on that parade ground :D Those cymbals sound great in your new kit, and the resonance of the toms were quite good. Looks like you have some base to embellish on.
@sokal: Very cool! I’ve had several sets in my collection over time but never got the knack of drumming, I would have really liked to but my coordination with the feet and hands just wasn’t working out😕
@donnadavisart: My favorite thing about this kit is it's color, I adore that robin's egg blue so much that my kitchen is covered in it haha. Looks like a great find and fun to play! I have a friend who would have get together's and we'd play "Rock Band" a video game with plug in instruments and I always do the drums...it's a blast. Of course not like real drums, but fun none the less.
@purplesinger: I reckon you'll love them. They are so much more responsive than any electric kit. It's now 9 years since I played on a real kit. I really miss the power of them. I hope you do get to play yours at full volume sometimes. Maybe when everyone is out and the windows are all closed? I doubt the neighbours would hear too much where you are. Sadly I couldn't have real drums here as the music room is too small and I'm in a terrace..imagine the complaints. 😂
@stefano.massari: but since when did you have acoustic drums? I had always seen videos where you had electronic drums. Last thing I want to say “I wanna live in IKEA”
@bozz: Do you have brushes? Those might work for some of the simple practice. You can't do some of the more advanced stuff with them.

@nicklewis: Always room for more cowbell!! This reminds me of the time my brother bought his drum kit, as we were students at the time or he was and I was just starting out on my first job. I’m five years his senior. Tim knew what he was looking for and I was his taxi driver. We had fun loading his purchases into my VW Polo and every time we hit a bump in the road, a cymbal would make a lovely noise. Looks like you’ve got a good purchase there. I’m going to check out your video!
