Francisco, California. The Bay Area is the location. You're now connected to Jackie's. What better for a Tuesday evening than a little NBA action on 2K sports. with our analyst. Well, Brent settling into the season now, what would you tell teams that are, by their own admission, underperforming? The first thing you want to do is identify the problem, and in some cases that can be obvious, but sometimes it's confusing, B .A., and you think you have what you need, and you just not quite working out. So let's take a look at the starters for the Philadelphia 76ers. Tyrese Maxi is out there with Buddy Heel, then it's Joel Embed, then it's Robert Covington, and it's Ubre in it to three. against Curry, right-side Maxie. Here's Embed. The Warriors pull it in. Coming into this, having knots to win against the Lakers in their last game. In that game, they were the enforcers, and they were also efficient. That's the kind of balance coaches look for. Well, easy to be efficient on nights like that, when everybody has things going. Let's see if they're still in a rhythm tonight. That one's good. Thompson. Play is pretty physical as an off guard and willing to go in there and take a bump. Maxi against Green. Maxi passes to Covington. Back to Maxi. Three-pointer. Looney grabs a miss. Ooh, he missed an easy chance to put some points on the board. He won't get a much better look at that kind of shot again here, probably tonight. Thompson outside. Pass to Curry. Outside, green. Five to shoot. Curry finds Thompson. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Takes a three, and Curry is good for three. Curry doing it again, the quickest releases we've ever seen. You talk about players that mean so much to their team, Stefan Curry at the top of that list, Brent. Yeah, you just look at the numbers, B .A., they're staggering about what happens when this team doesn't have Steph Curry on the floor, and really Curry becomes the entirety of the way this offense works. Thompson outside. Outside Peyton. Outside Curry, 4-3, Joel Mbib pulls it down. The 76ers have gone just two for four from the floor. Ubrai passes to Maxi. Outside Covington, pass to M.B. Over Looney, and there's Embed. That one's good, and the assist from Covington. M.B.'s got six. Here's Peyton, and it's Philadelphia with the rebound. First chance of the year for them to go up against this Warriors team. We see these teams face off only twice a year, last year, each one-one. Well, if I had a calendar, I would have circled this one, but I love it when they get together. Last year, they split the two games between them, and I'll bet their battles are just as tightly contested this year. And here's Green from the Ark, and he parries his first look. That's just a good look from play as his teammate was open. The 76ers have gone four of six in the first quarter. Healed against Green, healed passes to Covington. The closer he gets, the more excitable he can be. What a finish. Green, the pass to Thompson. Harked it down low that time, got hit with the three-second call. And checking out some numbers for Tyrese Maxi. And his three-point shot has been off lately. He's had a hard time getting it dialed in this month compared to earlier on in the season. He just needs to ease up and let those shots come to him instead of trying to force him. Melton, he's checked in for Philadelphia. Chris Paul comes in for Tyrese Maxi, and Philadelphia calls time here. They're in first place right now with a tremendous record. They're certainly the team to beat. Checking out Philadelphia, I really think the high expectations put a certain amount of pressure on these guys. But, to their credit, they have really stepped up to it. I think every great team welcomes the challenge of trying to be elite, and they want to do it on a nightly basis. Let's it go, 14. Paris misses. That's just enough defensive pressure on him to throw off that shot. I bet he gets a good look at it next time and hits it. For three, Covington. Warriors with the rebound. To the inside, Jackson Davis with the bucket. And Wiggins game continues to evolve. You saw that right there. Good eye movement found the shooter. Up top, Paul. He's coming off a 13-point game against the Trailblazers in Portland. And guys, the other thing that he did well was just facilitate the offense, pass the ball around beautifully, and that one seriously put on a passing clinic. Wiggins outside, passed to Harris. And the Warriors with another three! That's a shot that Tobias Harris is really working hard on, to become more consistent as a threat from the three-point line. Here's Paul. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Golden State is gone three for five from deep so far in this matchup to the paint. That falls. Nice setup by Harris. Jackson Davis has got his second bucket on the night. Right side, Paul, for three, Covington. Since that trade out of Minnesota, Andrew Wiggins has really stepped up. his ability. And that concludes a back and forth, high scoring first quarter of play. The Warriors on top, they lead by two, and we'll return shortly. Some good action already in this one, but a fairly even matchup after this first quarter of play. All right, guys, let's get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Yeah, their early focus on outside scoring has paid off. They're finding plenty of points from three-point land. Let's make sure that that selfish nerve doesn't get tapped, because right now there's great ball movement, they're setting each other up, and see if that maintained. Taking a look at Philadelphia. We've got Chris Paul. Paul Reed is out there with Nicholas Batum. Then there's the Anthony Melton, and it's Maxi in at the two spot. And Brent, the offensive style of this Warriors team. They stand apart from the rest of the league. Well, it's that perimeter shooting that's just so elite VAT. that really sets them apart. They move the ball, they move themselves, but they can really shoot it. And when those shots are falling, this team is incredibly difficult to stop. Pass to Paul from behind the arc, sends it home from three-point land. Paul's gotten himself going with a triple, his first basket of the game. Harris, outside. Just over a minute gone here in the second quarter, bearing his second of three attempts. Tobias, they're taking the contact, still leaning with it, scores it. Unloads from 13, and it's Maxi missing. And Curry's got the ball here for the Golden State Warriors. They lead by four. Jackson Davis with the bucket. Jackson Davis. Second quarter here, just over a minute and a half played. Maxi surveys. For three, on target from range. Maxi's got five now. One of the more skilled offensive players that is on the floor here tonight, got the easy fella to hold in check. Let's go now to the sideline and catch up with Ali LaForce. Joel and Bede talked about setting the tone. He said it's not easy being a leader. I'm not an off-the-court guy. I'm more reserved, but on the court, I show up. That's the way I like to lead, dominating on the court, offensively, defensively, and try to bring everybody along with me. He does it well for sure. Ali, thanks for that. Hey, they're just getting pushed around inside. And here in the second quarter of action, just to hair under two and a half minutes plays. And the 76ers call time here. The three-point shot changed the game, clearly. But did you see it becoming the centerpiece of so many teams' offense brand? I think it was inevitable in a way, VA, but the way it got introduced to the league and the way that... The seven seconds or less Phoenix Suns adapted to the three-point line, and then eventually what the rockets were doing, it kind of came in like a flood. And each year we're seeing more and more guys who you wouldn't think should be shooting threes, now capable of not only taking them, but making them. So that goes for every position. That makes the game very dangerous. Dream. And he'll draw the foul. He'll head to the line for two. That's on Joel Embed. Well, you look at Draymond's NBA career. Such a staple of this Warriors team's run of success. Green, maybe in the way that he plays, it gets overshadowed because people don't recognize the true greatness and what he does defensively. But Draymond talks enough for you to recognize just how much he means to this team and the way they've won championships around his demeanor. Covington's checked in for Reed. For three, Covington. Clooney grabs a miss. They have a decent advantage in regards to rebound. Pass to Curry. Look at Chef Curry, cooking it up inside. Looks like we're starting to see a patter in here. Not afraid to get into pain and get wet. Maxi against Curry. Now here's Embed. The fadeaway. He can't hit that time. The Warriors have gone an outstanding 7 of 7 so far in the second quarter. Green, the pass to Curry. And stolen by Covington. On the break! Outside Maxi, looking to win the run, sinks the tray. Maxi's got eight points in the quarter. Yeah, he couldn't connect on anything from outside in the first quarter, but now he's in two threes in the second quarter, and he looks much better. And always fun to see which players have been the deadliest from three-point range. Number one, Tobias Harris. Second, Clay Thompson. And the way both of these guys open up the floor with their long-range shooting, you just can't afford to give them any airspace from deep. Here's Looney. Get stolen by heel. The kickout to Maxi, launches a three. Looney grabs a miss. Looney's got his fourth rebound in this one. It's stolen by Ubre. Inside. Impede! elevates. The MB can throw it down from anywhere. So much power for the Bigfellow. Payton passes to Thompson. Here's Looney. Outside Curry. Conacts from downtown. Curry's got 10. They've been the more poised team tonight, and the score reflects that. Yeah, just really pouring it on right now, trying to take away the opposition's motivation to keep competing in this one. Here's Maxi. The Warriors pull it in. Looney's got rebound number five here tonight. Down load. Oh, got a piece of it. Peyton against Ubra. Pass to M.B. For three, Covington. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Looney puts it on the deck. One second left. No good on the buzzer-beater. And so it's the Golden State Warriors with a nine-point cushion at the end of the quarter. Their key to consistency has been their dominance in the paint. Thanks, Allie. After the break, we'll see you right back here to begin quarter number three. Hi, folks are welcome. And you look at the league, Shaq, you've said today's players are pudding pops. which, by the way, are delicious. Any other... Moving on, in that first half of basketball, things are looking pretty good for the Warriors. Man, it almost doesn't seem possible. And that's it for halftime. And we've got third quarter basketball here, two quarters in the books. Stefan Curry having a dominant impact in this game. I'll tell you what, he's still working on his playmaking skills, but he's been tremendous so far in finding the open man. Well, if we were grading playmaking, today it's an A-plus from him. The core of the Warriors Dynasty on the floor. Curry and play is the guards with Draymond on the floor. Gary Payton the second is out there with Kavan Looney. That's the Warriors 5. To the middle. Here's Covington. the champ by Covington. And how about that? Covington rising up and throwing it down with some authority. And this summer, the Sixers making changes on the bench. Grant, the mission statement is clear. Make it past the conference semifinal. Oh, so clear, B.A. And while that's been the stumbling block in recent years, I'm not sure even that's good enough. This is a team with legitimate championship aspirations. Green with the ball, guarded by Covington. Maxi, and there's Curry on the assist by Thompson. Thompson's got his third assist of the night. The 76ers shooting the ball at 46% from the floor. Maxi passes to Embed. Embed muscles through the contact. The control and focus from Embed, able to absorb hits from the defense and still finish. Inside, Peyton carries it down low. Peyton's gotten four this quarter. Yeah, 80% is that a good number from the field? I think so. Four or five here shooting. Terrific start. And Philadelphia calls time here. And one thing I've learned through the years is no matter of the situation, there are always adjustments you can make. Yeah, not just there to pump up or to discipline players. You've got to make sure that the coach makes the proper adjustments and has his team in the right mindset to carry it out. against Maxi, outside Covington. Heald on the wing. Embed to screen on Thompson. The drive by Heald. The shot is going to set up opportunities for Buddy Heald to do things like that. Golden State has got five of seven threes to drop here tonight. Here's Thompson, and the Warriors tack on two more. And another great assist. The offense is really clicking now. Maxi against Curry. Off target from outside. And their physical dominance has been on display. A 10 rebound advantage is a good indicator of how this game is gone. He hasn't helped the cause with his shooting, but his teammates have had his back. Maxi passes to Embed. Yes, Embed from him close. Maybe he's thinking at this point, man. Somebody's got to help me. I can't do this all by myself. And the Warriors call time here. Harris has checked in for the Warriors. Paul, he's checked in for the Sixers. And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. Dayton passes to Looney. And here's Curry from downtown. Oh, Curry from way out there. It doesn't matter. Once Step Curry crosses half court, you're in trouble. Up top, Embed. And now we're three minutes into this third quarter of play. Back to Paul. Six to shoot, Covington with it. Now guarded by Harris. And a deep three from Paul. Here's Embed. It's Embed with the follow. Their defense just falls apart once the ball goes inside. Golden State has gone one of two shooting from the perimeter since halftime. Peyton. And they're running. Here's Ubray. Ubray right there, just not afraid to take it at the defense. First, personal foul. First team foul. Shooting for Philadelphia. That one's off. We all love going to Oakland, but the Chase Center is just incredible, Brent. What a magnificent, sparkling, brand new building they have. Like most arenas, the Warriors practice facility is also in the building for the players, so it makes it very easy for them day after day and night after night to come do the work that's necessary to be a championship team. A chance here to catch up with Ali from the sideline. Hey, Brian, Philly fans, they're known for their passion, and Tyrese Max, he said, I love them because they're real, they're honest and they're tough. They know the game, they know what they're talking about, and they know what players are getting out of it. They care about winning, and that's what I care about. Brian? That's such a great sports city, too. Ali, thank you. And the basket by Looney. The assist numbers certainly stand out. They've really emphasized ball movement here today. all look at it over. Again, the Sixers score. And force-feeding the ball inside. I mean, no reason to go away for what's working. Peyton attacking. The quick look, no good that time. Philadelphia has gone, 0 for two from outside here on the third. Maxi passes to Covington. Harris against Ubrae. For three, Maxie, he buries it from three. Maxi's got 11. Here in the second half, their offense has been strong. Great ball movement, really working well for clean looks. A slow start for him, but making amends here in the second half. For three, Maxi! Looney grabs a miss. Looney's got six rebounds here tonight. Past to Curry, fires the three. He's off on that one. Up in time. That shot is off. Well, through three quarters of play, down double digits. It may be difficult to overcome. Steve Kerr with some words for his players. All right pace, great energy. Keep throwing the ball. And with the fourth quarter upon us, time is running out for this game to become competitive. Taking a look at Philadelphia. Paul Reed is out there with Mobamba. Then it's Kyle Lowry. Then there's the Anthony Melton, and it's Paul in at the point. Throws it up high, throw it down on the lov. Well, you play pick and roll offense, you've got the perfect point guard in Paul. That's a lot of peas. Harris on the wing, from the arc, drills it from deep. And the Warriors lead by 12. As the deep shots continue to fall, you can sense the frustration growing among these defenders. Here's a three from Paul. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Fantastic ball movement for them tonight. The things are definitely working offensively. A balanced attack is just so much hard to defend. Man, they're having a hard time defending the triple. That's three in a row. Here's Paul. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. They really have a commanding lead, not just in points, but in rebounds as well. The shot by Pajemski, no good. The 76ers have gotten just one shot to fall out of three attempts in the fourth. Pass to Paul. And the shot goes. And their office a game plan is clear. Get it inside. Golden State calls timeout. Dayton's checked in for Andrew Wiggins. And the 76ers making a change here. Let's check in with our reporter, Ali LaForce. I was able to listen in on what Steve Kerr had to say to the team. He told his guys to stay after it, to not get complacent and lazy with this lead. He wants them to keep adding to it. We'll see if they're able to do it, guys. All right, appreciate it, Ali. This has been their game plan here in the final period. We'll see if it continues to work out. It's one thing to have teams shoot a bunch of threes, but with this team being that hot, defensively, you gotta chase them away from anywhere near that line. Reed passes to Embed. And Embed throws it down. And there's the process at work. Embed rolls off the pick and right into scoring position. Pass to Pachimski. On the wing, Peyton, from outside the arc. Another three for Golden State. Wow, their opponent is doing a tremendous job space in the floor. Outside heel. Now here's Embed. The three is up. Yes, sir! Embed from distance. Overall, their shot selection has been much better here in the second half. You'll see if the rest of their game follows suit. Outside, Peyton. On the wing, Curry, to the inside. Here's Jackson Davis. The rebound by Embed. A lot of defenders choose to just back up off of him when he's in that tight, try to avoid the N1, and this time they're not backing off. And him beat throws it down. Well, healed right there on the yield, waiting for someone to get open. And the Warriors call time here. Collington's checked in for Philadelphia. Tyrese Maxi comes in for Chris Paul. They can take their time if they want. Yes, you have to regroup, make sure you get a good shot. And it's Green missing. The 76ers have gotten five of their seven shots to fall in this final quarter. Out to the right wing. Embed inside. Working on Green, Embed can't hit. And so it's Green who brings up the ball for the Golden State Warriors. 17 points was their biggest margin. Pass to Looney, out of bounds, it'll be Philadelphia's ball. A minute 39 left in the game. Covington, it's screen on Looney. Here's Embed from 13 feet, down it goes. Embed's got 23. Yeah, good things happen when Embed has the ball in his hands. I mean, this guy can do it all. And it comes up with the bucket. And the Warriors lead by 12. If you're only a few players in the league, you can hit a teammate like that in stride, beautiful assist. Maxi on the wing, he's covered by Curry. And Embed throws it down. size disadvantage for the defense. Might as well just get out of the way. Hurry passes to Peyton. 102 left in the fourth. From the high post, deep drills it. Peyton's got 14 points here on the second half. Time called here. The 76ers decide to talk it over. They're behind by 12. And 101 left to play in the fourth…
