And so the calm before the storm, again this so engraved into sporting history. These two teams have squared up so many times before. It is a rivalry whose significance has never been diluted and never ever will be. All stemming from that simple dread at the very idea of losing each to the other. Everyone here is obliged to win. Well, colour and passion just oozing from the stands here. These fans love their football, and we're about to be dished up a feast of it. Jim, this one always matters. Well, there may be nothing resting on it, Peter, but that's never going to take the edge away, is it? And the players from both sides know that. Well, it certainly feels that way. Yes, so while these boys are going to approach this game, with their professional hats on, circumstances will extract the aggression. So we're very much well, Petro! Well, the finish certainly didn't match the buildup. Beautifully worked to take the defense out of the picture, but there'll be no rush to see the replay on this. Great defending, strong and determined. Not the most convincing of passes. Sure. Dogu. Now it's Petronetto, it's a really well-measureed ball. That's going across goal, and he's there to clear it. Jim, which player is best equipped for this game? Bruno Fernandez is the modern-day Portuguese maestro, and I really like him for his character as well, something that's not picked up on very much. I see him as a player who He always goes about his business with conviction and authority and a proper leader. Yeah, still certainly be leaning heavily on him. That's well spotted. Sval Petro. And it's Gusto. Looking for options, for movement. In towards the back stick. Swel Petro! Well, that is clearly not the outcome he wanted. You really could have done with engaging those crossers much higher up the pitch there. This isn't good defending. So a third of the match or thereabouts gone and we still await the first goal. Oh, and they're quick to press here right on top of them. He's had it taken off him. Pedro Neto. It's a throw in. Aimed at the far side. Terrific effort! It's there! It was a great header. The invitation was irresistible and the finish unerring. He did so well there attacking the ball the way he did. He got a strong forehead behind that one. So the first moment of real significance. Well, this should allow them to be a bit more expansive, although they'll be wise to be cautious. For now, locks it out wide. Chance to deliver. That should be the goalkeepers, and it is. Doggoo. The pressing's intense, and it's paid off. Now it's Petronetto, Fernandez receives it in a good position here. And he's had it nicked away. And it's Petro and he shoots! It's hit the upright! Well, he certainly wasn't in the mood to take any risks. Now it's Shwell Pedro. Takes a shot! And he stuck it away! They are purring, truly purring! A finish of great intelligence, he just understood, and he executed so smoothly. Oh, what a touch! I mean, how good was that? Poetry in motion. Chelsea are now luxuriating in a two-goal lead. Yeah, it's all happening now. There's been a nothing of the intention, an urgency, a real step up in possession and purpose now. Ahmad. Petro Neto. So Pedro, he's beaten the last man. Shwell Pes shoots! A wonderful effort all by himself. Well, that was really good running. The more he moved with it, the more he realized that taking the shot was his only option. Chelsea with their first corner, the first in the game for either side, actually. Oh, great leap! No, just not quite. Menu, now at Shwell Pedro, and he's got the beating of his man. That's a dangerous ball. They're looking at the referee, but he's wave play on. He's shifting through the gears here. Nope, didn't quite have the weight on it. Pedro Neto, great chance! And collective relief etched on the faces of the defenders. Half-time coming up and little doubt as to which of the two sides is the happier Mount 40 minutes gone Half-time closing in Diallo in acres of space out wide he's picked his way through There's some great running on show here, but ultimately there was no way through driving forward Sure. There will be one minute at a time. Now it's Schwell Petro. This looks promising. John Scho! Oh, and that is a thrilling end to the first 45. A thrilling end to the half there, one that very nearly changed the completion of this game completely. Any strong opinions on the first half? Well, Peter, at 2-0, you're faced with the choice of just trying to see the match out or forcing the issue even further. I'd always be inclined to go for the latter, go for a third, especially with a full half of football still to play. Chelsea firmly in control at the break, 2 -0 to score. The second half is up and running. Coorrea, and it's Palmer. He's got away. Looking for the far post. Easy enough for the goalkeeper. Dogoo. Manchester United. Disappointing in the end there. They lack urgency. Sanchez needs a sigh of relief as he gets his hands on the ball. Well, a few of his teammates are quite furious with him as they felt they were within reach, but he made nothing of it. His boss doesn't look too amused either. Mount. Obama, the most accurate pass. Well, it didn't look good for a while, but that was brave defending, and they got away with it. Well, that tackle was immense, and so was the relief, the great escape. And the shots! Oh, just lacked a decent finish. Spirited to say the least, certainly gave this crowd something to really cheer about. Dogoo, Bruno Fernandez, providing an outmessel that flank. Fafana did well to emerge with the ball. That's a contest to keep an eye on. Now that's well seen too. Masrawi. Good looking ball. Sval Pedro is being harried and hassled. Yeah, they're certainly getting much tighter to now. At least the message was received. Now it's Schwell Pedro. Looking for a runner. That's good vision. And it's hoisted clear. That is ended up in no man's land. Bruno Fernandez, running with the ball. There's a sharp little ball here. Pedro Neto with the delivery. Bruno Fernandez. Mount. Pedro Neto is onto this. Charge for a shot for a shot! Euphoria, utopia, and they are cavorting. And they are tearing the opposition apart here, simply breathtaking stuff. It was a great finish. He put it away with great poise, dead -eye accuracy. He had the whole picture in his head, teacher. He didn't even look at the goalkeeper. Chelsea, find a position of real strength now. Shore. Now Menu, and it's mount. Shin to shin, bicep to bicep, and he wins out. Manchester United seem happy to bash their heads against the brick wall, Peter. That's sent for route forward. It's just a no-go zone. Now it's swell, Petro. Can he get it through? Petro Leto. Decent chance! In he goes again. Oh, good finish! His utter joy, he engages with absolute happiness. And he's only too grateful to capitalize on the keeper's misfortune. That has been drummed into him from such an early age, Peter, it almost came as second nature. He such as the keeper couldn't hold on to it, and he's there in a flash. Chelsea are having a ball here. Well, their manager seems to have them always thinking about the next goal. When's the next goal coming? They're such an entertaining watch. Oh, he's been caught napping. Delivers the ball. Oh, that's a cracking ball. Too quick for defence and keeper. That's come for a throw-in. So we have further activity on the bench here. I think you have to admire his willingness to keep plugging away, but the manager has done him a big favor, I think, by taking him off. You know, he was looking very, very leggy. No, no way through there. Peton, let's shot it goal! And he steered it beyond the post. That's a throw. Somewhere off target, matches. Matches Kunya. The ball has bounced loose now. To Martinez. Macuire. Two out. Two out minutes has been indicated. Out towards the flank. Driven in. Been there, done that, unfortunately. And the referee brings it to a close. Well, that was a shimmering, sizzling, scintillating game. The key characters glittered throughout and did what they did when required so to do.
