Well, what a sight this is, a beautiful evening and the promise of a match that will really get the juices flowing. I'm Peter Drury, and seated in the expert's hot seat is our man Jim Beglin. Well, thank you very much, Mr. Drury, and hello to everyone. Colors vivid and vibrant, songs loud and proud, the tone for this game is well and truly set. And the shots! A terrific save from the keeper. That's very, very good. You can't ask for much more than that. And we have our very first quarter. They've played it short. Chelsea have the chance to go the other way. Oyathabal. Olysee, not the most accurate pass, Kaka. Well, there is a look that says it all, a piercing stare. Well, the pass wasn't good enough, and he knows it. That's an untidy challenge, free kick given. Valverde is being told in no uncertain terms that this will be his final warning. I don't think you need to be an expert lip reader to know what's being said here. Defending in numbers sharp and uncompromising. Olysee? And he was quick to react. Now it's Trussar. He's found the way through. Trussar stood his ground strongly. Volk quality clearly deserted him at the crucial moment. Encourage the pass with an intelligent run, but the past just lacked base. Alisi is someone with real dynamite in his boots. That is ended up in no man's land. Yamal. Nice touch. Yamal's cross, expertly cut out, really nicely done. It's a pretty loose pass. That's a look and place it forward. Chelsea are still to register a shot on target. As a matter of fact, a shot of any type. And that has left him in a heap. Sun Hung-min, running at top gear. He's cut it out. Here it is crossed in. We expected better and so did he. Now it's Yamal, the pressing's intense, and it's paid off. Pass surprised everyone and not in a good way. Nice control. Caca. Oh, really well played. Caca! Oh, horrible, miss cute. Well, the moans and groans from the stands now are very audible. Oh, that's a fine interception. Sun Fung Min. Looks across and plays it in. He's only too happy to take that back. And he can thump it away. Messy. Here's all you're after about. Hausson is always scanning the pitch for targets. Oh, easy pickings there. Still looking for the first breakthrough, and it is nearly half-time now. Valderde, wriggles his way through. He is through here. In it comes. Getting up there! Well, that is clearly not the outcome he wanted. Well, it really shouldn't be allowed to happen again. It needs to be dealt with at source. Pierlo powering forward here. Now it's Brahim Diaz, and he is dashing away. Shapes to shoots! He is just caressing the ball! Now the delivery. And that is expertly dealt with. Tries to pass it through. And that could well leave a mark. Goes down, but nothing given. And for the first half, that is that. A decent enough half, but neither side able to get on the score sheet. Time for some fresh ideas in the second period, perhaps. Just a quick request. Any thought opinions on the first half? Well, I don't think we need the stats to be on the screen to tell us about the past completion rate, which has been obviously a letdown in this first half. All too often, we've seen players left frustrated because of poor decision-making and just a general sloppiness, so I'm sure the boss will be getting stuck into his players to improve and improve quickly. So we reach the halfway point and neither side have yet been able to force the issue. It's nil-0. And we're already back up and running after half-time. Lill-0, and we're at the halfway point. Strong running down that left flank. That is good pressure, just hounded him off it. That is a jarring tackle. But apparently nothing wrong with it. Engages and forces him off the ball. Munich have really been terrific at snuffing out the threat. No, for something different. Crossard clearly held onto it far too long there. Did he do enough to find someone? He looked as if he had his mindset on trying to do everything. his way. They could break here. He's shifting through the gears here. Oh, that's a very choice of shots! chance to counter. This is their second corner of the game. And it's been taken short. And now they can spring out a defense. Knocks it into space. He's got plenty of space out wide here. While the defense, the defense proved to infallible then. But that won't be the last DELC of him. Oh, he's got that all wrong, and it's a penalty. Chelsea present their opponents with the best possible chance here. This to make it 1-0. Oh, he's missed it. It really wasn't a confident penalty, Peter. It was almost like he was trying too hard to second guess what the keeper was trying to do. Yeah, they were looking for a counterattack. In with the challenge. Oh, he's been caught napping. Oh, that's ambitious. Well, no goals, but certainly no shortage of action. Yes, and it's been far from uneventful. We've had a healthy amount of attempts at goal from... He's had a shot! And it's in! They've done it! Finally, they've broken through. And that really is so, so impressive. Well, from the moment he got involved, he looked as if he'd go all the way. Terrific. So the first goal of the game. Look, experience voices need to be heard now, along with good purpose and urgency, and they can get right back into this. Now it's Oyothaba. Oh, he's burst through. That's going in strongly. Alisei. That's a good run down the left. No, he is not giving anything away. And it's Kaka. Sun Hulmin does really well to win the ball there. Oh, now here's an interesting matchup. So, Jim, what are you thinking? We've not seen much from this team as a whole, Peter. Okay, that's largely due to the way their opponents have approached it, but... They can up their game considerably, and I mean considerably. Pierlo, looking to pass their way up the pitch, pitches it off him. Yamal has it out wide and in space. Akanji does well to get it back. That has been locked clear. Ah, such a clever touch. They may end up with some regret with this tactic, but you have to admire their commitment to goals. Alisei, and he's been shifted off it. Robertson, running with the ball, and it's son -hung-min. And here's Oyafarbal. Spread it left. He's got away. Time is running out here. Well, I like to see, Peter, that they haven't given up yet, so the spirit burns on. It's a decent chance to counterattack. Alisei, ventures forward. Hanks one in. The keeper gets his hands on it. Fasiole, excellent challenge there, uncompromising. Shot could be on. And he's heaved it away. This might spell danger. That is masterful defending. Well, it's probably safe to say now, Peter, that it's going to be all about game management from here. He's picked his way through, and he's certainly caught him there, it's a free kick, and he is going into that little black book. Akanji. Driving on and making good progress. Lovely pass, but can he get there? He's been... Oh, a guilty chance! Now it's Olyse. Played it again. A great leap! That's a fair try, but just off target. Yeah, I think he's going to be a bit disappointed with that, Peter. You would have fancied them to at least hit the target. And that's it. So in the end, one goal did it. An exciting encounter where both sides produced a genuine effort to go on and win it, but neither was able to add to the scoreline in the end.
