It has been the feeling of the new game for me, given the fact that I am still working my way through the game, especially its controls and familiarizing myself with how to score more goals. In thi...

A moment to savor for all of us. Lined up on the start line, their eyes fixed on the prize. It is the ultimate calm before the inevitable storm. And the mood is boisterous. It is a perfect ambiance for the central characters who are ready now to perform. We're up and running then. This then the greatest show on the grandest stage. Jim, which player is best equipped for this game? Yeah, Killian and Bapé, there's nothing more frightening for a defender. It's DeBenai! He's done very well to get to that. I think he's done great there, both reading it and dealing with it. And we have our very first quarter. Definitely away. Senegal have the chance to go the other way. It's not an especially good pass that. Definitely out wide. This is Dembele. Oh, it just skips past his burn. Oh, Super Bowl! Tries to pass it through. Now it's a Kluge. Tries to play it through. You can never be short of runners into space, as long as the space left behind. is filled nice and easy for the goalkeeper so jim what have you made of what we've seen so far well both sides seem happy with the patient approach for now still trying to have a good look at one another and that interception was most necessary that was well played well stopped The other side yet able to force a breakthrough here. Great defending, strong and determined. And Bapa, that is good strength. In it comes, that should be the goalkeepers, and it is. Great vision. Lovely pass, but can he get there? There's a look up and delivers. And he's taking no chances there. Mbapé, driving forward. Space for him to turn and look. Ball score first. How very smart. He just got it right. And his manager couldn't look happier. That's the kind of interplay they've been working on in training, and it came off beautifully. So the first moment of real significance. Well, this should allow them to be a bit more expansive, although they'll be... Can he finish! It's loose and there's a race for the ball. Is their second corner of the game? That he's there to clear it. Senegal, looking to go forward now. That has not gone well. Yeah, they were looking for a counterattack. He's got away. He's had it taken off him. Can he get it through? Cross flung in towards the middle. Oh, he's enjoyed that. He evidently loves the contest. Mbapé. It's a really well-measured ball. And he was quick to react. France certainly could do with a positive spell for the remainder of this half, just to set the tone for what's to come. He's got plenty of space out wide here. He's going for goal. The Bacquet is magnificent. A finish right from the top draw. France are back on level turns. Piercing. piercing and with pinpoint accuracy, but he forces it through. Yeah, Peter, I think you've got to give the keeper some slack here because he didn't have the greatest view of that, but you've got to give the score of his due as well. I mean, he had that sharpness of mind and clinical edge. Looking at a different game now. Well, I'd happily watch this every week, Peter. This is exactly what you want from a big game. Engages and forces him off the ball. There's a beautiful simplicity about this contest. Oh, shooting chance! Gold, Senegal! And they're back in front! And that was as close to certain as can be. Again, that's terrific movement, Peter, and an even better pass. It's beautifully played. So we have a breakthrough, and now how will things develop from here? And that has been cleared. Well, they could break here. Oh, that's fabulous. And that is the end of the first half. So, engaging and still right on edge. Plenty of signs to suggest this will turn out to be a really good one. Neither side holding back here. It has been quite a half-ness. Well, I think the message from the manager at half-time will be pretty simple, Peter. He's going to want them to play at a higher tempo, press more, higher up the pitch, pass quicker, and entice the opposition out of position. He knows how crucial the next goal will be. So that's how it stands at halfway. We'll be back with the second half very soon. Back on the way then. Well, I think in these circumstances, it's all about how to adjust the balance of your team. I mean, you want to get back in it as soon as possible, but without leaving yourself too open. Foot in. Oh, this looks sharp. And he could have done himself a massive favor by just lifting his head up there. You know, it would have been a better picture of what was going on around him. And he's managed to get free. That's just playing it safe and simple. Aimed beyond the defense. And he's cleared it out of harm's way. This might spell take us! A second goal! What more they've done it! They just will not lie down! Oh, what a fabulous game this is, it just keeps getting better and better. Peter, they're trying to claim outside here, but this stinks of desperation to me, they know they've got it wrong. It is compellingness, utterly compelling. This is exactly the kind of contest you'd expect when you have so much class from both sides. The next goal is going to be so significant. Now he's off and running. Jindane, he's a sharp little ball here. That is headed for the middle. moment you're in possession, the next you're picking the ball out of your own net, that one will sting. Well, a little more decisiveness on the ball, and that probably wouldn't have happened, but still, it was very well played. Great pressure to force the error. France, with the lead. Well, that's really wind of the opposition. You can see their manager screaming on the touchline, telling his team to calm down, but they'll need to do that pretty quickly. It's composure from here. So time for change. This one has been on the cards for a little while. Well, he's going to inject a nice bit of pace into that front line, Peter, so I can see him making those runs in behind. France have scored two quick goals here and are ahead now by the odd goal in five. It's a pretty loose pass. footed pressing going on here. Excellent challenge there, uncompromising. That's good vision. That's the keeper's ball. Looking to play him in. 75 minutes played, and here's Dembele. Now, he's got space here, and this is Dembelle, and he shoots! Oh, and they really should have been made to pay. Atombeau, Schozhne. So, third corner of the game. the best of headers. The belly under intense pressure. Well, he's profited handsomely already in this match. And at last, their sense of danger has brought them to a possible solution. Well, this is just incredible, I mean, who would have seen this? Neither manager, I think, it's all happening. And a trademark move ends with the inevitable classy finish. Just when they thought they may be in at one end, they end up shipping a goal at the other, and it's all due to wonderful counter-attacking. They hardly had time to even react, and there's only one word to describe that, clinical. Senegal dragged themselves back again. Well, at this stage, Peter, it's going to come down to how badly they want to win this. The most accurate pass. Tremé, now Umpap. Knocks it into space. Shifted up field. That's a good ball out wide. Now, Achlouche. No, that was never going to make it. Added time going up here, it's three minutes. Cherokee, and that signals the end. What a game, a contest of ferocity and marvelous talent from start to finish. After all of that, Jim, what are you thinking? Well, Peter, I suppose it's something, not ideal for either side, of course.
