The Wendiya no Pidi, just in me do sell LOD. Let's go, I got shooting stars on my teeth. The Windy City, Chicago, Illinois, the location for the Warriors. One of the most versatile scores in the game. Welcome sports fans. Thank you for joining. Now let's take a look at the rookie rankings. As we hit the halfway mark in the regular season, here's who has taken the lead in the rookie of the year race. He's had a pretty cold first season so far, but maybe he'll find his stride in the second half of the year and finish strong. And as the rookie of the year race is getting clearer, these young men are standing out as the cream of the freshman crop. They're all experiencing some ups and downs, which is to be expected, but the talent level of these young men, absolutely terrific. All right, checking out Golden State's opening lineup. The core of the Warriors Dynasty on the floor. Curry and Clay is the guards with Drayman. at the four. Andrew Wiggins is out there with Kavan Looney, and for Chicago, DeRosen and Miller in at the forward slots. All runs point with Levine flanking it, and it's Vucovich in at the center position. And it's green with the ball for the Warriors. When it comes to Levine Smitty, he has a great combination of skills at the offensive end. He does be a. Zach can shoot lights out from the perimeter, and he's explosive when he attacks the basket. Just the kind of guy you want on your side. Here's Williams. Tries again, and it's good on the lay -in. Good positioning turns into a second-chance shot for Patrick. Love that intensity on the glass. Thompson passes to Wiggins. Out to Thompson. Now here's Curry. Locked! And here is DeRosen, 17 points in his last outing. Williams, a screen on Wiggins. DeRosen passes to Butchovich. The three, rebounded by Green. Not the efficient start they were hoping for. Only one for four from the field. The three from Curry. And rebounded by Zach Levine. Oh my God, they can't buy one. Oh, for four. Sometimes this happens. Ball passes to DeRosen, shoots over Wiggins, that one rolls around and rims out. They are out of rhythm, one for five so far. You just need to calm down and reward your matches. Meeting right at the rim, he typically converts in those situations, not this time. They grab their own miss, that one's good for two. Great positioning by Butchievich, hustle points for the big band. Timeout call to Warriors. All right, fans are getting a T-shirts, the last one. All right, let's take a look at the 2K leaderboard and see which teams are leading the pack and steals right now. Fifth on the list, the Bulls. This team will punish you for sloppy ball control, no question. They've got a lot of fast-handed guys just waiting to take advantage. Here's Curry uses the glass to finish the layup. Well, Grant, we're now basically at the halfway point of the regular season, with each game gaining more importance as time goes on. I mean, that's it. We are at that time where the playoff picture becomes clear, and teams are hungry for wins. So, you know, they know at this point of the season, every game matters. So you've got to love how competitive things are right now. And ball throws it down. The defense plan Lonzo ball to pass that off. Instead, he takes it all the way. And the ball out of play, the Bulls will have it. Yeah, communication breakdown. Two guys thinking in opposite directions. The pass winds up in the stands. And that's how you defend. Glad we had a chance to see a replay of that block again. That'll put some fear into the shooters, and he made sure to do it early, too. First quarter of play and we're about three minutes in. Here's Wutchevich. He's looking good. Two buckets and three attempts. This run has been fueled by their Matador defense. Curry against ball. Counted. Two for four from the field now. He anticipates the contact, adjust his body. and gets the finish. Curry, so frustrating to defend. And grant a positive for the Bulls over the last few seasons. They work hard to get good shots. Well, B.A., that's definitely part of their DNA. They've had the personnel to do it for guys who are disciplined and patient. Already, six of their points coming off second chances, pretty impressive. Here's Looney, and Looney with the slam. Unselfish played by Steppen Curry. Boy, he's moving it around. Now a timeout called by Chicago. First chance of the year for them to go up against this Warriors team. It's really hard to know what to expect when teams play only twice a year. Makes it a bit of a mystery. The balance between East and West, after years of being dominated by the West, is starting to even out something. A big group sub-fellate. Institution here for Chicago. Craig is checked in for Nikola Vucovich. Green comes in for Williams. Caruso, he's checked in for DeRosen, and it's white in for ball. There's a minute 12 left in the opening quarter. Levine passes to Green. Levine, feeling it out a bit. Craig with a screen. Good as the jump shot falls. Yeah, they've done quality. work on the offensive glass. The Warriors trailing. There's Pachimski. Got it. Good job in the low post. Man, I'll tell you, when you get your floater game going, it's a tremendous weapon. Right side white. Outside for Levine. And the three off target. Golden State has gone 0 for 2 from outside. Harris outside from the arc. They get the rebound. Pass to Pajimski. Let's the three fly. Now Peyton. 17 seconds left in the first quarter of the game. No coverage that time. Levine's got five. Zach Levine knocks down the quick jumper in a hurry. Here's Pajemsky. He's guarded by White. Outside, Peyton, beyond the arc, knocks down the triple, exchanging buckets from downtown. That's been a staple of tonight's game. A players love competition, and the fans love it as well. And so, it's the Chicago Bulls, leading by six as we... And thanks again for tuning in. If you're just joining us, we've played through one quarter of action so far. And taking a quick look here at the Hustle Stats for Chicago. It's all about to fire their plane with early on, crashing the boards, and the result, second chance points. And they've done a tremendous job just creating havoc defensively. Active hands. have led to tons of turnovers that they've capitalized on. So, on the floor for Golden State to kick off the second quarter. They've got Stefan Curry. Dario Sharich is out there with Tobias Harris. Then there's Gary Payton second, and it's Pajemski in at the Tugar. Defensively, you have to tight up on him or suffer the consequences. And let's send it over to Ali LaForce. Brian, the Bulls back in 2021, shifting the roster towards a more veteran win now look. They've pushed their chips into the middle. Now they're trying to find their way into contention. All-Star forward, DeRosen, said, quote, we've got to go out there and compete. If we want this thing, we have to go after it. Brian? All right, All right, Allie, thank you. Just over a minute gone here in the second quarter. Here's De Rosen. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. They're fresh off a win against the Pelicans. And that game was all about the depth they have on this roster. Their role player stepped up when they needed it most. And a strong bench gives you the flexibility to bring someone in and exploit a certain matchup. Their ball movement on this run has been tremendous. It's led to a lot of good... clean open looks. Kobe White keeping his head up, shows great vision, and delivers a great pass. A second round pick out of Illinois, it's all worked out for Iyo de Sumu, playing for his hometown Bulls, Smo. VA, he's earned a lot of plan time, too. Injuries have played a part, but he's proven he deserves to go higher in that 2021 draft. Walt Grant is the managing director of the U.S. men's national team. You've gotten to see the wealth of international talent firsthand. It's so true, B.A., I mean, I've got so much respect for the international game. You know, over 25% of the players in the NBA right now are international players, and they produce superstar talents like Donchich, Janis, Embed, and Yokic. The U.S. has more competition now than ever. Vucovich. He's checked in for Chicago. Lanzo Ball comes in for White. Looney's checked in for the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins comes in for Peyton. Back to Harris, past to Curry, Wiggins with it. The three is up. And it's cleared by Butchovich. Butchovich has got rebound number five here tonight. Curry with a seal. Stolen by ball. DeRosen, outside. No good on the triple. And so it's Curry with it. He brings it up for the Warriors. It's a three-point game. Oh, Wiggins with the silky touch at the rim. Yeah, that's on the defense there. Now, you can't let Wiggins get this kind of positioning inside. DeRosen deciding where to go with it. Pass to ball. Butchrovich, a screen on Harris. The three from Ball, hauled in by Curry. And you never want to give a shooter like him a clean look. And here's Harris outside. And it's Chicago with a board. Vucovich has got his sixth rebound on the night. Here's the sumo. Drives to the hoop. The rebound by Wiggins. I'm not sure what happened on that play. May have relaxed a little bit once he got to the rim. And here's Curry for three. Four three, Stefan Curry. Even if you stay attached to Curry beyond the art, That might not be enough. He's that good. Chicago calls time out for the bowl. And we'd all love to hear what goes on in those huddles. We just get the snapshots. No, we're left to infer from the adjustments we see on the floor. Some changes for Chicago. Williams has checked in for DeRosen. Zach Levine comes in for Caruso, and it's White in for DeSumo. Here's White. 11 points for him last game against Houston. Pass to Vucovich. Lays it up and banks it in. Butchovich has got his third basket of the night. With this height, Bucchovich, a tough matchup inside for any defense. Wiggins passes to Thompson. And the Warriors with another three! Wow! Their opponent is doing a tremendous job space in the floor. Ball against Thompson, outside Levine. There's the three. It's good, and the assist that time from ball. Levine's got a right back at you. Zach Levine with the immediate response to the three at the other end. Oh, and Levine with a block. The free throw, no good. The Bulls have gone four of ten from the field in the second. Ball finds Williams. Wiggins against Levine. There's ball with a three, and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Looney with the ball. He's picked up by Levine, left side green. And really, credit green from getting the favorable position group group down inside, forcing the D's hand there. First free throw is good. Shooting from Golden's Ditch. Man, both free throws good for Green. Money from the strike. He does a great job, night in and night out. Two seconds separating the shot clock in the game clock. Williams, up top. Here's the three. Rebounded by Green. If you can, use up the clock en route to the last shot. But you know, this is where your patience is tested. If you shoot too quickly, you give your opponent a chance to close out the quarter. Now Levine fires the three, and that's not gonna go. Since he was traded to Golden State in 2020, Wiggins has become a very capable defender. Now, the first half comes to a conclusion in a game that's been very close so far. The Warriors on top, they lead by five. And we'll be right back after halftime to get the third quarter underway. Obviously, the bench gave them a big lift. The credit the front office for loading up on scorers. You can never have too many of them. All right, guys, now let's take a look at the... And that'll do it for us. Thanks for stopping by. We'll head back down to Brian Anderson and crew for the start of the third quarter. As we get into this third quarter, as we've seen so far, neither team able to create much separation on the scoreboard. But without question, Gary Payton the second, displaying his skills today. I like how they control the tempo and played to his strengths. And many of those quality shots have been jumpers. A very high percentage of those in the first half. On the wings, it's the dynamite pair of Levine and DeRosen. Williams and Puccivic patrol the inside, and it's ball in at the one spot. That's the group for Billy Donovan, getting going here in the second half. Here's Wiggins. Oh, look how determined Wiggins is right there. Clever ball movement by Clay Thompson, getting the rock to a guy with a better look. Levine against Thompson. 16 feet out. Levine, that one's good. Levine's got 10. Talented, driven, he puts constant pressure on your defense. Here's Wiggins. No luck on that one. Good work defensively by DeRosen. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot, so he'll get a pair at the line. Well, some have called DeRosen a master of the mid-range. Smitty, maybe rightly so. VA, I definitely give him that title. You guys are as efficient in that area as him. In fact, he boast avoided. Now a timeout called by Golden State. On your feet fans, makes a noise. It's time. All right, let's see the best free throw shooting teams this season. Fourth, the Bulls. And this is a team that knocks down their free throws at an elite rate. Whoever they go up against should always try to avoid fouling them at all cost. There is a humbleness to DeRosa's game that's hard not to love. He knows what he does well and just zeroes in on being the best. Another three for Golden State. They're getting torched on the perimeter. Four of the last five buckets have been threes. Outside Levine, the Bulls with another miss. And so it's Wiggins with it. He brings it up for the Warriors. Six-point lead. Thompson, no good. The Bulls have gone just one of three in the second half. And Clay Thompson picks up the foul. That's his first foul of the game. It just wasn't able to set up in time. of basketball played here in the third quarter. One for four in the second half, just trying to get into a rhythm. Off target with the free throw line, J. Wiggins outside, back to Looney. Pass to Green, takes the three, green, able to hit from three. Their defense has to do a better job of smothering those shooters. Timeout called here, Chicago decides to talk it over. Yeah, hoping to tap into something that'll get them clicking. Yeah, these guys need to work together as a team, as a unit. Try and carve out some easy buckets. And we're just about two minutes into the final half of play now. DeRosen. Demar, strong move inside. We talk about Williams' physical abilities, but right there, you see the awareness and willingness to be unselfish. Outside, green. Thompson, scanning the floor. Wiggins, right side. Outside, green. Just five to shoot. The kickout, Curry, lets it go from deep. Tamar de Rosen grabs the miss. Chicago trailing here. Ball with it. Green picks him up. It's stolen by Green. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. Time out of here from our reporter, Ali LaForce. Well, Zach Levine talked about his path to start up. He said, quote, I've always viewed myself as a top-tier player, and I put in the world. If you expect yourself to be here, it's... something that you have to go out and show each and every day. I feel like I've done that. Brian, that confidence was there from day one. He's big time, Ali, thanks for that. The Bulls making a switch here. White's checked in, and Golden State also making a switch. Harris is checked in for Draymond Green. Out to the right wing. Clooney passes to Harris. Two minutes. Now Thompson. Back to Harris, shoots over Levine, and it's Harris. That time, on the assist by Thompson. And now an 11-point warrior lead. The Bulls have got just two of six in the second half. Curry against Ball. Good, on the 13-footer. Ball's gotten his second bucket of the game. Typically, Lonzo doesn't take that many mid-range jumpers, but he's capable of knocking them down. Over to the left wing, Looney passes to Harris. Thompson against White. Oh, Clay! He takes the contact and finishes. Thompson has a beautiful-looking floater. Tough for the defense to contest. Ball passes to White. His first shot coming late, and he gets that one. White's got his first points of the night. Rock's solid screen right there. The defender got completely lost. Hey, if you're not going to fight over, you're essentially giving the shooter the look he wants. White against Thompson. Pass to Curry, shot clock at 6. I mean, the last guy you want to file in this lead, Steph Curry is automatic at the line. Some changes for Chicago. Craig's checked in for Nikola Butchovich. Green comes in for DeRozan, and it's Caruso in for ball. Martin, he's checked in for the Warriors. Peyton comes in for Wiggins. Green with the ball. Green with a screen on Curry. Levine finds Caruso. Outside White. Counted from distance. White's got five points now in the quarter. Bobby White doesn't need much time or space to get off that catch and shoot. Martin outside. Pass to Peyton. Goes up and lays it in, nice and easy. Peyton's got 11. Another shot right in the lane. That's been their M-O this evening. Here's Levine for three. That one, no good. And so it's the Golden State Warrior. earning this break in the action, up 10. Getting lots of great looks, shooting it well. Head coach Billy Donovan is miced up. Hold your ground, don't let him back your way in. Fourth quarter action is upon us. Thanks, as always, for joining us. Here's Curry, on the court for Golden State to start the fourth. Tobias Harris out there with Gary Peyton second, then it's Usman Garuba, then there's Stefan Curry, and it's Pajemsky, in at the two. With a nice combination of strength and elusiveness, Harris makes things difficult for the defenders inside. Good on the second one. And so DeRosen will bring it up for Chicago. They trail by 11. It'll be the start of a three-game trip on the road. White, the past to DeRosen. Green with a screen on Curry. Tast to Green. Unable to get that one. Oh, great D, that time from Harris. Nice rebound. Trying to match the other team's intensity right now. He drops yet another dive, just facilitating this offense like a maestro. White against Peyton. Goes up from the top of the key, and he drops that one in. Not exactly what coach wanted coming up the floor, but he'll take you. Pass to Peyton. Here's Pajemski. For three, another three for Golden State. Here in the second half, they're really focused on stretching the floor. This was obviously a focal point coming out of the break. Look smart when the shots are going down. trying to get him going with that dunk. You're totally right, that can be a shot in the arm for them. A spark that turned things around. Curry against White. Pass to Moody. Oh, his Moody with a drive. And it's good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry's got his sixth assist of the night. The Bulls have gone two of three to open the fourth quarter. Timeout. And the Bulls call time here. But without question, Gary Payton the second. displaying his skills today. I mean, the ridiculous production for Beyond the Art. They have to find a way to cool him down. A big group substitution here for Chicago. Nikola Vucovich is checked in for Green. Williams comes in for Caruso. Zach Levine, he's checked in for DeSumo, and it's ball in for White. A moment to hear from Ali LaForce. Thanks, guys. I got a chance to hear what Billy Donovan was saying to the team, and he was adamant that they need to tighten up their deed. That lack of communication at that end has led to breakdowns, wide open shooters and easy buckets. He sounded pretty frustrated, guys. Okay, thanks, Ali. And for Chicago, they're shooting pretty well at 45%. On the wing to Rosen. It's stolen by Curry. Pulls it from the corner. And again, it's Golden State. And Thompson's coaching staff. encourages him to take quick shots. They know how deadly he is. Pass to Levine. Now to Rosen, all outside. Six to shoot. The Bulls need to get off a shot. Three-pointer, Vucovich. Warriors with the rebound. Green's got…
