▶️ Watch on 3Speak --- As I play more and more, I keep getting better especially in the aspect of my defense where I have been working hard on. I know offensive is not much of a problem for me but ...

the nature smooth operator listening to sharday you just booty tangy versus your side to tell you. Hello everyone, proud to bring you Wednesday night coverage and here in January a few teams start to solidify their spots in the power rankings. Others not so much. Look at the Pelicans, they've climbed all the way up to the second spot. And I think for Golden State, they continue to obliterate expectations because they found a way to get the most out of the guys on this roster. And the starting lineup for the Pelicans in the back corner, it's McCollum and Jones. Ingram at the three, with Williamson playing the four. And it's Valenciennes into the center position. And for Golden State, the championship core of the Warriors is out there. Curry and tops in the back court, with brain working it power forward. Then it's Andrew Wiggins, and it's Jackson Davis in at the final. And that one's good, Wiggins. Wiggins is a good mid-range shooter when he's in a rhythm, faced up like that. They'll take it. Here's Jones, and Curry pulls it down. Golden State has come out of the gates quickly. It's a five-point game. This bellic in front office has done a great job, Brent, binding some diamonds in the rough, players that have now helped. Think about it, Kevin, they grabbed Jose Alvarado and Najee Marshall both undrafted players, and those guys are key rotation pieces to change the tempo of any game. Herb Jones, a great steal in the second round defensively comes in, creates havoc. I mean, a lot of really impressive finds for this front office. And you know, it took them a while to get going, but they finally connected now on their fourth shot of the game. Green picks it up to Wiggins. Thompson for the triple. At Bulls, ice-feed that time from Wiggins. Love watching Clay Thompson in that easy stroke of his. Jones, no one around him, and he can't answer back the three-pointer off-line. Still searching out their offensive game right now, one of five from the field to start this one. passes it to Thompson. Golden State moving it around. Offline with his three. New Orleans is gone, 0 of 2 from deep here. Jones in the post, he's covered by Thompson. Jones kicks to Williamson. A three-pointer off the mark. Gordon State's gone two or three from deep so far in this game. And the layup is good. Green's got five. Now, Jemond's energy, guess what? It's here. It's in the game right now, and he's attacking. Here's Jones. The shot goes in, first of the night. He's one for three to start the game. Just a much smaller defender on it. He does the exact thing at the right moment, goes straight to the rim. Wiggins. Oh. And how about the acrobatics from Andrew Wiggins? Way up that time. Nice angle on that replay with the AT &T 5G slam camp. Offside Jones. Wiggins with some nice deep. No doubt it's been a bit of a struggle form here in this quarter in terms of score. A shot by Thompson, no one's around, gets it to go from beyond the Yom. He has six. And around the midway point of the season, Brent teams by now hopefully have found their chemistry. Is that forged off the court or mostly in your opinion on the court? Well, it can be forged on the court, Kevin, and that can be a good thing. But if it's forged off the court, it can be a great thing. That kind of togetherness can carry you a lot farther. And that one's good, green. The D has gotten a little bit lax here, defending the triple. And first time out of the game called for New Orleans. Averaging less than nine points a game for his career, but Draymond Green does everything else on the basketball court, Grant. No, you know you might have. Yeah, of course, the former defensive player of the year, a tremendous playmaker, but the biggest skill, Kevin, is his mouth. He is a great communicator out there to keep this team connected. Looking who's out there now for the Pelicans. Trey Murphy comes in for Ingram, and it's Jose Elvarado in for Herbert Jones. Just setting the tone with an aggressive move to the rack, and where's the help defensively? Yeah, APB sent out to try to find out where the defense is inexcusable. Defensively, they just look out of SAC, not closing out on the threes in time. Pelicans, trail by 15. There's 53 seconds left to play in the first quarter. Here's McCollum, and that one goes long. Edge Thompson with the ball, he'll bring it up for the Warriors. Their last meeting was in New Orleans, where they were unable to fight off the Pelican. Poor execution in that one. Not sure what led to the lack of focus, but coaching staff definitely not happening. And they made some comments themselves that some of the fault might have lied with them because they didn't go in with the best. of game plans, and they didn't make the right adjustment, so we'll see tonight if they do. Now, Harris, following the three-point attempt by C.J. McCollum, Thompson in the corner. Back to Harris. Another three for Golden State. And they're getting their points now almost exclusively from the triple. Four of their last five mates are from beyond the up. McCollum looking at over. They need this, and no good in the last second it's up this time. And the puzzle south and the first, and we've got a blowout underway here. Warriors ahead. And if you're just tuning in, we've got a wide margin on the scoreboard, but plenty of time left for a comeback. And some stats here, guys, the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. absolutely dialed in from beyond the arc so far in this one. The defense is surrendering the long-range shot here early on. Let's make sure that that selfish nerve doesn't get tapped, because right now there's a great ball movement, they're setting each other up, see if that maintained. So the Pelican 5 right now, they've got Ingram. He's out there with Jose Alvarado. Larry Nance out there with Troy Murphy, and it's Marshall in at the power forward position. Ingram, wide open. Gets the three-pointer to fall. Ingram's got the second quarter going with the first basket of the period for New Orleans. Peyton passes to Looney. Now here is Harris. rebound by Marshall. Better than giving up the layup, you want to go in there and use the hard foul. They did it there. That's aggressive attitude defensive. Hits it from three-point range. Marshall's got himself going with the triple, his first basket of the game. Warriors leading by 14. Curry passes to Looney, back to Curry. Looney down low, working on Nance. He won off target at the rim. And Willie Green wants a time-out. Forty Zell is checked in for New Orleans. Herbert Jones comes in for Marshall. For New Orleans, their last game a loss to the Kings in Sacramento. They shot the lights out from deep, really stretched out the defense in that one. Yep, made the defense work extremely hard and did a nice job of getting any advantage they could against the team that shot it well. Not sure what the D was doing there. Clearly a breakdown. You can ill afford to give a guy like him that good a look. Took him no time at all on that one. Ingram's got five. Ingram staying agile, ready to take the shot as soon as that opened up for him. Brandon Ingram, Tiny Dog is what they called him when he first got into the NBA Brent, and he has become a very loud bark. What a player. Yeah, Kevin, a lot of talk about him having to jump around in the shower to get wet, but he has put on the weight and become ferocious on the offensive end. This guy does not back down, and he's worked hard to fill out that frame. But Jemsky's shot is good. Pajemsky's got his first bucket of the game, and he's on the board for three. It's time now to hear from our Hall of Fame reporter, David Aldrich. That's the latest, David. Thank you, Kevin. The Pelicans have a lot of weapons offensively, but there seem to be enough touches to go around. Coach Willie Green said, there's a trust factory. All those guys, they go out and trust each other. It might be one guy's night in this game. There might be someone else in the next game. They always just want to make the right play. Kevin? Yep, thanks, D.A., good stuff. This is his first trip to the line tonight. And he knocks down the football. And we've heard defensive-minded players, Greg, say, man, everything is a foul nowadays. You can't even touch the guy. He can't defend. Do they have a point? It's getting tough, isn't it? I mean, you can't use your hands. You have to be said. It's almost like they want defenders to be traffic cones. Catching up on the changes for New Orleans. Williamson is jacked in for Cody Zeller. Marshall comes in for Ingram, and McCollum, subject for Jose Alvarado. At 6'8, Murphy possesses great height at his position, comes in handy on the glass. Here's Curry. The focus from Curry gets it to fall inside. Brom. Another good play. This is how they built the lead, calling on the right guys at the right time. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but its importance to a team showing up here, running plays that turn into scores. It's just so good, off the balance. C.J. McCarley is as frustrating to cover as anyone. Yeah, but it's also Greg, one of the players in the league, we appreciate the most because of the footwork, because of the fundamentals, maybe a little bit undersized, he finds ways to get it done with efficiency and effectiveness. No good on that. And C.J. McCollum just relied upon. for the incredible leadership qualities he possesses, and that kind of respect comes right away when CJ steps into the locker room. Looking at who's out there now for the Warriors. Tobias Harris comes in for Gary Pate, and Wiggins has subbed in for Curry. And the second free throw, good. For the New Orleans Pelicans, their last game a loss to the Kings. In the NBA, you've got to keep pace. It's a fast track out there, and I thought their lack of hustle defensively was the story of the game. You can't allow any opponent to shoot that kind of percentage. If you do, it's just going to be so tough to keep up. And the basket by here. Sweet to be a difference maker in the game, and he's been a great option for them on these possessions. called by New Orleans. In a moment now to see nice three -point percentage numbers on this list. A look at the leaderboard showing us the most accurate three-point shooting two men in the league. Clay Johnson, number one. He just oozes with confidence out there beyond the ark. That's where he makes his living as he should, I mean, given how efficient he's been from long range. New Orleans moving it around. Here's Williamson, falls through. He's now made to a four. They are just killing them on the interior. And so it's Thompson with it, he'll bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. They led the game at one point by 20. Yep, that one goes. He can get to the medium range as Clay's able to find some room and still trigger it. To the inside, here's McCollum. That falls. Great assist by Marshall. I mean, the number of points they've scored in the paint already here is eye open. Pass to Jackson Davis. Off the mark there with the three-point shot. Telekins, trailed by 15, inside, and finished off of Frank Williamson. Yeah, so fun to watch him get fancy on any finish, Zion, again to the rack. Here's Harris to the middle, out to Johnson, and stolen by Williamson. There's a four-second difference from the shot clock to the game clock. Yeah, here's a list of things I don't want to do, and right at the top, it's guard back down. And the Warriors decide to take their first time out here. Valenzhenius comes in for Nashi Marshall, and it's Brandon Ingram in for Trey Murphy. Warriors leading by 11, Thompson outside, over Jones. He had stolen by Valen Chunis. And here is Ingram. He had a 21-point outing in their last game against Sacramento. He also did a masterful job in that game of drawing a lot of foul, so he's creating havoc for the defense. And so it's the Golden State Warrior. Their lead at 11 points to end the quarter. Shooting the ball so well on this one, a great performance from the field. It's time now to go courtside as we send you over to David Aldridge from the sideline. David, take it away. Thanks very much, Steve, some great engagement defensively. What's happening that's... Thanks so much, David, and we'll step away briefly, but get you right back out here for the start of the third quarter after this break. Happy to have you with us. Let's start the... Hey, guys, does it feel like it's warm in the studio to you? I'm always warm, I run hot. It's probably because of your saccharitis. Says the man who hurts... Now for a moment to look at our game, everything and I mean everything is falling into place for the Golden State Warrior. And that is... Lopsided first half. We'll see if things play out a little more evenly here in the second. Ice game, great performance by Harris. And the bulk of his damage so far has come from the perimeter. A lot of threes early on. Yeah, he keeps tracking down those spots behind the three-point line and finding some open opportunities. Time now for an injury report. Hi guys, the head athletic trainer for the Warriors gave us some information. And honestly, it looks pretty serious right now. But if he misses a lot of games, it will obviously be a big blow to their chances of winning it all this year. Thank you, David. Guys, the only thing you can wish for is that the prognosis isn't quite as bad as they're making it out to be. Yeah, that's a tough. He was really hoping for better news than that. but that does not sound encouraging. We always think about when players go down, how terrible a blow it can be for the team. We wish him well. I hope he's on the floor quickly. The championship core of the Warriors is out there. Curry and tops in the backcourt, and green working at Power 4. And it's Wiggins, and it's Jackson Davis in at the pivot spot, Manning the middle. So that's the group out there for Golden State. A second round pick in 2021, Brent Hurd Jones, immediately made an impact on the defensive end. You wonder if being on the all-defensive team, or at least getting votes, as a rookie has changed Herb Jones mentality about wanting to get defensive player of the year. I know that sounds silly, but he's got the capability and versatility to beat that much of an impact on the defensive end. Just a solid performance on the interior, the rebounding has been off the charge. I'll call him outside. They double team McCollum. Loads it up for Williamson, takes the Al -U pass and dunks it down. Try to find other ways to talk about Zion's leaping ability. How about timing? Showing it there. Wiggins, left side. At the top of the key, Kurt. Into the third we go, two minutes in now. Wiggins passes to Green. Oh, good on the triple. Pelicans, trail by 12. It's Ingram on the wing, covered by Wiggins. The lead now in single digits. A goal goal, it just seems that every pass they make is leading to a score. And the Warriors making a change here. Harris is checked in. A moment now to look at the year -to-year scoring output and how it has been trending for Tobias Harris. And maybe it's shocking, maybe, no, maybe not too shocking, but the scoring trend over the last few years has been going down a bit. And I'm sure it's something he's well aware of, and we'll see if that continues to be the case. Thompson from Long Range at Bowles, ice feet at that time from Wiggins. Wiggins has got his fourth assist in this one. Now, the time I've called by New Orleans. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldrich. David. Thank you, Kevin. Brandon Egram's work ethic has made him an all-star. He was in the Pelicans facility so much, they banned him on off days. He said, I hate it, but I use those off days to visualize the game. So what does he like? He says, being called out. Players at this level think they're above that. Kevin? Not him. Hey, David, thanks. It's a plus five advantage for them in rebounding after that. And the NBA said expansion should wait until after the new CBA. Greg, that's done, so what new team? I mean, it seems like Seattle's been waiting forever. Professional teams have been crowding in the Las Vegas, and don't sleep on Mexico City. A lot of potential fans south of the board. Kept alive and changed shot. County and the warrior lead has been down to 11 on the bucket from McCollum. Sometimes, CJ, just with movement alone, finds himself in the right spot. This time picks up a couple of garbage points. Here's against Williamson. Some nice passing by Golden State. St. Davis, and again, it's the Warriors missing. And so it's McCollum with it. He brings it up for the New Orleans Pelicans from 20 feet out, misses off the left eye. I know it's about defending the post and the three-point line these days, but still gotta be active in the mid-range area, and the defense gets away with one there. And we may have an injury here that does not look good. And boy, when you see someone hurting like this, it's always scary. Yeah, it reminds you of what's really important, health number one. Everything else comes after that. Raymond Green, he's checked in for the Warriors. And foul on the shot, he'll shoot two at the free throw line. Oh, when Steph gets into the lane, he does a great job of shifting and moving the ball around, and he will not go away from the contact, forcing a foul. Steffen Curry, two shots. And both free throws, good for Curry. Just solid, really, one of the very best there is at the free throw line. Curry against McCullough, not three off the mark. And the great shooters know when they've got enough opening to go for the three. I didn't think it was a bad choice on that possession. And here's Harris from the ark. Good, and Curry gets the assist. Curry's got three assists tonight. Bottom line, you need shooters on your team who can space the floor. Oh, there's no doubt he's a legitimate threat from downtown, and he's demonstrating that in this game. McCollum, no good. There's a little bit of pressure on him, but not enough to cause him to miss a shot that's in that close. Pelicans, trail by 16. Here's Ingram. Good, nice job down low. Ingram's got seven points. Well, when he gets around there, because he's so long, and so quick off the floor, but then he would have to stop. Shots good by Green. And Matador defense, that's one of the easiest shots he is ever going to see. Yeah, it feels like Christmas right now, just gift wrapping points. McCollum against Kurt. Shot from 12. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. He led the game at 1.5.20. But his poor shooting is a big reason that they're staring at this deficit right now. He needs to get on track. They're going to find a way to win. And there's Green on the assist by Thompson. Johnson's got three assists now in this world. Ingram deciding where to go with it. And that shot was up in time, but doesn't go ahead. And as we end the third corner, a double-digit deficit. How about a look at today's State Farm assist of the game? And he sliced the D wide open with this speed. They had no chance to prevent that basket. That's what great passing will do for you right there dissecting the defense with that play. we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may be already out of hand. On the court for the Pelicans, getting the fourth quarter going. In the back court, it's McCollum and Jones. Then there's Larry Nance. Then there's Trey Murphy, and it's Marshall, hit at the power forward. That's their third straight make, off an assist. Pelicans, trailed by 17. McCollum outside, fires the three. the board. The edge on the glass is the difference. It's allowed them to build this lead. And here's Harris from the ark, and a great assist by Curry as that one goes in. A assist like that have typified their effort today. Terrific ball move. Outside, Jones. The Warriors pull it in. 60 seconds off the clock here in the fourth. Here's Pachemski. Off target with his three. New Orleans has gone one at two from three-point range here in the fourth. Left side,…
