This is such a great rivalry. I want to see it as much as possible. Yeah, and you know, that rivalry component only adds to the tension in BA. One thing we know, when they get together, it is not going to be dull. Let's take a look at our starters for Denver. And the forward spot, Porter Jr. and Gordon. Manning the backboard, it's Murray and KCP. And it's Jordan in at the pivot spot, manning the middle. Pass to Wiggins. Now Thompson, now Curry, defended by Gordon. Curry passes to Thompson. That drops, and it comes off an assist from Curry. And if you're a high school player and you're looking for a jump shot to emulate, watch Mr. Thompson. Here's Jordan. Down low, here's Murray. Ooh, the lead pass was in the perfect spot to set up to Layup. Nice way to start the game. That's where you'd like to get your shots from. Back to Curry, three-pointer. sends it home from three-point land. Off a pass, Steph Curry, that one is always going in, or almost always going in. Pass to Jordan. Murray against Curry, back to Jordan. Outside Porter, now called Welpope. Out to the right wing, five to shoot. And stolen by Green. a fast break for the Warriors. Here's Jackson Davis. Ooh, a two-handed power slam! And you know, for a big man, I think Green is one of the better dime droppers in the league. I mean, he's a true point forward who has excellent vision and sees the floor well. Murray's shot is good. Starting to find his rhythm. He's cooking, and he knows it. And you know what, they're going to keep using it. I mean, he'll be the centerpiece of their offense today. You can bank on that. and a chance to see the latest edition of the power rankings. Always fun to see where everyone in the league stands. You take a look at the Nuggets, they slipped a bit. Still in the top 10, though. Well, right now for the Warriors, they continue to look incredibly dangerous. The cohesion and teamwork they show on a nightly basis has a lot to do with that. And he dumps it down. You know, it's clear that Gordon is one of the best dunkers in the game, always looking to bring the thunder. There's the AT&T 5G slam can capturing the moment. And what separates the nuggets on offense is their efficiency clerk. You're right on it, VA. You rarely see them take bad shots. I mean, they are a well-oiled offensive machine, adamant about getting quality shots on a consistent basis. Here's Caldwell Pope. Given his range, you'd expect him to capitalize on that open. Here's Jackson Davis, and that one drops. Jackson Davis has got his second basket of the game. Delicious dime from Curry there. One of the reasons his teammates love playing with him. On the wing, Murray, green covering, launches a three, Jackson Davis grabs a miss. And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. It's a three-point game. They beat the Nuggets during the last encounter in Denver. Well, in this last matchup, they captured the win in large part because their backups provided a lot of the scoring punch. Yeah, and you know what, I expect them to go deep into the bench again tonight, to give those guys on the bench a chance to have an expanded role, but also to give those starters some rest. Currie's focus at this point in his career is clear to keep winning championships. The Nuggets making a switch here. Jackson is checked in. And that one goes in, two from the line that time. Productive trip to the line. He doesn't like to leave points on the table. Outside Porter. To the paint. Oh, deflected. Curry with it, Jackson in his pocket. Green, the pass to Wiggins. pulls up on the wing, and there's Thompson on the assist by Wiggins. Well, Andrew Wiggins, the former first overall pick showing off his passing skills there. There's Jackson with the three, gets the three to fall. He's consistent from out there, especially when you give him that kind of room. Golden State calls timeout. Both teams will make substitutions. Third in shooting percentage. And they're in the top five in the league when it comes to three-point percentage. They've got shooters, and they've designed their offense to open space for them on the perimeter. And they do shoot it at a very high clip. One of the most efficient offenses in the league. They don't take too many bad shots. Outside Peyton. Here's the three. They get the rebound. Out to the right wing. Here's Pajemski. Oh, three chances on that possession, but they just can't find a way to score. Order the pass to Jackson. Beyond the arc. The Warriors pull it in. Jackson Davis has got four rebounds in the game. Pass to Pajemski. The three is up. It's rebounded by Najee. And this is exactly who you want taking that shot. You just missed it. Jackson, the pass to Porter. The shot is good, and this game is back to even. And it's Jackson's responsibility to find his open teammates in a terrific dime there. Harris, outside. Here's Jackson Davis, pass to Wiggins. From behind the arc, drains the triple. Boy, if the offensive bend, his game is so impressive. I mean, he's a threat every time up the floor. And here's Porter outside. Jackson for three. Oh, and he just knocked down the buzzer -beater. And that concludes a high-scoring first quarter. We're all tied up. And quarter number two will get underway just after this short break. And if you're just joining us, it's been a pretty even game through the first quarter. And for what we've seen here from the Warriors, what should take so far? Well, clearly, they played well in the first period because of their selfless attitude. Yeah, and you know, so many of their hoops came off in assist, which is a good sign of ball movement and sharing that ball. On the floor for Denver, getting going in the second. We've got Christian Brown, Reggie Jackson out there with Murray, and it's Chanchar in at the center position. Did you see that? Look at the elevation on that, Doug B .A. Man, he just caught left it back and fired it down with one hand. Boy, nice way to punctuate that position. He's the last guy you want to leave alone on the perimeter. The Nuggets Trail. Murray, scanning the floor. To the inside. And he makes no mistake, slam dunk. So good to see Murray, not just as a score, but thriving as a pass or two. Here's Peyton. The kickout, Curry, past to Harris. Another shot. That drops, and it comes off an assist from Curry. Harris has got five points now in the quarter. And just shredding apart the defense with his passing. He's helping to pace this offense so well. You know, numbers don't always tell the story, guys, but his assist totals do paint the picture here. I mean, he's got everybody involved. And plays like that one can make the difference in a close game. And it definitely got the bench on their feet too. Making a statement for sure. I mean, we'll see if they can maintain that aggressive approach, guys. A moment to hear from Ali LaForce. Clay Thompson is able to go on scoring stretches like few players in NBA history. He said, quote, once you see it go straight through the net, that's when you're in the zone. At the beginning of the game, you hold your follow through. Once you feel like you can't miss, you shoot real quick. And that's a great feeling. You feel on top of the world. VA? Yes, indeed. Thanks, Alex. Easy money for Stefan Curry. Mark, it feels like we've reached the peak of this three-point explosion. What do you think the next trend of the NBA will be? You know, Brian, it's hard to say, I mean, perhaps we could land on the return of the center, because we're already seeing that, and the centers that are excelling and dominating the league and winning MVP's are in their prize. Perhaps we'll see teams get bigger and play more through their centers going forward. To the middle, here's Chantar. And the layup is good. And it's now only a one-point warrior lead. I tell you what, it reminds me of one of my college coaches. That ain't going to get it done. That's five great baskets in the paint now. Had a new group getting ready for the nuggets. Jordan's checked in for Chanchard. Gordon comes in for Watson. Porter Jr., he's checked in for Brown, and Caldwell Pope is subbed in for Jackson. Thompson outside. Back to Curry. Curry creates inside. The assist numbers certainly stand out. They've really emphasized ball movement here today. Clearly just an example of a different mindset between these teams. You know, we can't measure heart. I mean, he's not as big as the other power forwards, but his jumping ability and mindset is incredible. Wiggins outside. Off target from three-point range. And the shooter had very little space on that attempt. And guys, that's exactly the kind of high -impact defense they want to see out of him. So they take the lead. Caldwell Pope's gotten himself on the board with a three there. I think Caldwell Pope has done a nice job developing into a legit, deep ball threat. Back to Curry, past the Thompson. Wiggins outside. And there's a whistle. He'll head to the line to shoot, too. And when you see Wiggins starting to develop that mindset, that mental edge, knows he has the defender in trouble, and he's able to draw the foul as a result. He's off on the first. Browns checked in for Murray. He hits the second from the line. closing it on four minutes played here on the second quarter. They double him with Curry. Inside, here's Porter. Goes back up, pass to Jordan. Thompson with the block. And with length and instincts, Thompson has been an elite defender in the lead for years. Here's Jackson Davis. For three. And there's Thompson, all the assist from Green. Thompson's got seven points. You know, they've got to make him earn those three. You play off of him, and he's automatic from that distance. Outside Porter, puts up a three. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. Jackson Davis has got his fifth rebound in this one, and here's Curry for three. Fires for three. And count it. Now five for seven. They're getting torched on the perimeter. Four of the last five buckets have been threes. It's hard for me to watch this. I mean, the defense practically giving them no shot. And that's a foul, called on Stefan Curry. That's his first foul. 29 seconds left to play in the second quarter. Caldwell Pope's shot is off. And Wiggins has got the ball here for Golden State. Their last game, a win against the magic, looking to carry it into this one. They were lights out from beyond the arc, and they spaced the floor beautifully in that one. There's all kind of talk in the game today about stretching the floor, because when you do that, everything else just becomes a little easier. And here's Thompson for three, and it's good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry's got assist number five here tonight. from way outside. He got it up in time, but it would not fall for. And so that brings the first half to a close. Warriors ahead, up by six. And join us right back here after the break for the start of the second half. Hey, folks are welcome. I've had some nights in my time. Nights, when you feel like everything is going in, you know what I mean? and with all-star, thanks for joining us. Time. We've got second half action for you, and if the next couple of quarters are similar to the first, this one could go down to the last possession. Stefan Curry having a dominant impact in this game. Well, if he's hit threes like he did in the first half, he's going to have a monster night. Yeah, you know what? The defense is going to adjust. They'll be ready for him now, so I'm sure they talked a lot about how to slow him down. The core of the Warriors' dynasty on the floor. Curry and Clay is the guards with Draymond on the four. Then it's Andrew Wiggins, and it's Jackson Davis in at the center. And that's the group for Steve Kerr as we begin the second half. The Warriors leading. the wing Thompson launches it and it's Jordan with the rebound yeah and the defense has really got to tighten up on him I mean he's just too dangerous from the three -point line and Murray launches it from deep the Warriors pull it in it's never easy from that distance but we see him drill those and shoot around all the time well that look to me guys like a heat check and maybe a step out of his rank Defensively there was a lack of aggressiveness and it really made it easy for him to knock that shot down. Murray against Green. Murray finds some space. Oh, he parries the 20-footer. Murray's got 12. Well, you don't like to see Murray get on this kind of a role if you're defending him now because he's creative, and once he gets going, it's hard to slow him down. A great move. I mean, the defense has no response. Yeah, if that's a harbinger of things to come. He's looking at having a very big second half. Here's Caldwell Pope. Five points in the game. To the paint. And slam, dumped by Jordan. Boy, at the rim, Jordan, steal. After all this time in the league has the athleticism to get up and throw it down. Green. Dennis Jordan with the rebound. Denver's gone 0 for two from outside here in the third. The 11 footer. And as Seth and Curry with the rebound. Golden State is gone, only one of three from deep here in the third. Thompson finds green, lets it go from deep. That one is off. For Denver, they've gone two of five in this third quarter. And there's the lob. Stolen. Wiggins from long range. Rebound by the Nuggets. Just under two and a half minutes into this third quarter now. Here's Caldwell Pope. And again, Denver, no good. And the defense got away with one there. I mean, that's a shot he typically makes. Here's Wiggins. That one rolls around and rims out. Boy, that's got to be terribly frustrating there. I mean, with the defense not hustling, and he still misses, boy, he wishes he had that one back. Porter from outside. It's good. And the assist goes to Murray. Good work defensively by Gordon. Well, he has not been sharp this period. Seems to be a little frustrated out there, too. They kick it out to Murray. And up another three for Denver. This is anyone's game now, and they have the momentum. Well, it starts with defense, they got some stops, scored some buckets after that, and now we've got ourselves a ball game. Wiggins for three, and Wiggins knocks down the three. And that's a good one. Good shot for Wiggins. I mean, he can be deadly from the corner. Now a timeout, called by Denver. Man, it's been quite a game for Stefan Curry. They really need to reshape their defense. They have to get out to him quicker to slow this pre-point attack. So it's both teams making substitutions here. And always fun to see which players have been the deadliest from three-point range. Number one, Tobias Harris. Second, play Thompson. And the way both of these guys open up the floor with their long-range shooting, you just can't afford to give them any airspace from deep. Here's Jackson. He's got six. And the duck by Jackson. Oh, leaping up high, Jackson sees his moment and seizes it. The kick out to Wiggins. There's the triple. Oh, my goodness, how do Wiggins get that one to go? These guys really falling with his stroke right now. He hit one earlier, and now he has three in this half. Pass to Watson, three-pointer. Thompson pulls it in. It's surprising to see him miss here, but they'll be happy with that shot in most possessions. It's Wiggins on the wing. Now here's Harris. So the mindset Harris has is one that allows him to be ready to shoot as soon as that ball touches his hands, catching five. Here's Watson, pounded by Harris. Saddy jams it after taking the nice feed on the run. And what an aggressive move to the ramp. He's really trying to fire up his teammates right now. Boy, it's not hard to feel inspired after a teammate makes that kind of finish. You know, when you're looking at... close the gap, and these guys who will take it upon themselves to step up. Take the initiative and make something happen. Here's Watson. Tried to answer back, but that three is off the mark. And it's green with the ball for the Golden State Warriors. They host the pistons after this one. Offensive board. The kickout to Wiggins. The three ball. And the foul called on Draymond Green. That'll be a second foul of the game. We've got 13 seconds left in the third quarter here. Porter with it. Over Harris, and that one's long. And so it's the Golden State Warrior, finishing the quarter with an 8-point lead. And now we have a moment to reveal our State Farm assist of the game. This is the definition of team chemistry. I love to see this kind of communication and connection between teammates leading to the perfect pass. For me, next to the Big Time Alley Oops and Monster Throwdowns passes like that are probably the next best thing when it comes to sweet-looking NBA highlights. Fourth quarter action is upon us. Thanks, as always, for joining us. On the court right now for the Nuggets. We've got Reggie Jackson. Also, Murray out there. Christian Brown out there with Ziegnaji, and it's Watson in at the force line. A moment now to see how the schedule is looking for the Denver Nuggets. On Friday, they go back home, and we'll be hosting the Orlando Magic. Then on Sunday, it'll be the Detroit Pistons coming to town. When you look ahead, there are a lot of winnable games, but you really can't think that as a player. You have to take every opponent seriously, because this is the NBA. No game is a freebie. You gotta love how they've been crashing the boards, fighting hard for every miss. I certainly do. You know, I like to see guys do their work inside. Their rebounding has been excellent, and that's always important in the close game. Fires in the triple. and the Warriors lead by 8. And Harris can certainly knock this down, which is why you've got to guard him tighter than that. Here's Murray. That one rolls around and rims out. That's a good player missing from point-blank range. That's one you got to convert. The kickout, Curry. Back to Harris, the three, and it's good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry's got assist number eight here already in the game. Jackson, surveying the D. They set the pick, lets it fly. And again, Denver, no good. He has to make that one. I mean, you have to make the defense pay when they slough off of you like that. Pass to Curry. Outside Peyton from downtown, and the Warriors with another three. Timeout, timeout. Their strategy has been pretty simple here in the second half. Attack from three-point range. Certainly, I mean, they saw a weakness in the perimeter defense and took advantage of. And the Nuggets will go for a different look here. Jordan's checked in for Noggy. Gordon comes in for Watson. Porter Jr., he's checked in for Brown, and Caldwell Pope is subbed in for Jackson. Let's go now to the sideline and catch up with Ali LaForce. I was able to listen in on what the Nuggets coach was going over with his team. He stressed with his guys how important defense is at this point of the game, saying, quote, it's got to come down to stop, fellas, we know how good our offense is. Now I need you to communicate and DM out there. Appreciate the report, Ali. Yeah, fearless play from Curry inside. Going up against tough defense and getting fouled while shooting. At a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Well, you know, for me, the passing has been fantastic all night. Everybody loves watching this style of basketball, where the ball moves and players move, coaches, fans, and even us broadcasters can appreciate that kind of action. We also got to highlight how on fire they've been from 3-point land. They've continued to capitalize from beyond the arc in this one. Using this size advantage there to rip down that board in traffic. To the inside, here's Caldwell Pope. Yes, and it's Murray picking up the assist. Murray's got eight assists here tonight. Caldwell Pope is very comfortable near the rim, cashing in from there. Curry's shot is off. The Nuggets have gotten three of seven attempts in this fourth quarter to fall. From deep, Murray, no good. wouldn't be a…
