I've been running from a feeling I could never put to words built a thousand different doors just to leave the place that hurts I've been searching for an answer like for a key but the road I took to freedom led me further away from me there's a weight beneath my breathing there's a silence in my chest I've been fighting something nameless that was asking me to rest I keep reaching for tomorrow like today is something wrong trying to outrun the silence that had helped me all along I call it darkness call it weakness call it weakness It's something I should heal Put a thousand names upon it so I wouldn't have to feel I've been treading words of violence in the things I didn't know Made the golden man a savior by the things he didn't show Broken promises inside the words we didn't really need Definition and perspective don't know I was just afraid to stay. In a place I wouldn't stay. There's a weight beneath my breathing, there's a silence in my chest. I've been fighting something nameless that was asking me to rest.
