We're going to jump in, because this is a 35 minutes episode, so we have a long one, and we're going to react together. I have no idea what is this. episode it's going to be about, what is going to be sharing with all of us, maybe we know some stuff, maybe we don't, let's see, let's start, let's go, let's jump in, just like that. Before the sold-out stadiums and global charts, there was only five Dreamers against the storm. I love his editing. They were marketed under a borrowed identity. Which is fair. Instant Backlash and Deep Public Rejection. Why do you need to spam my G -cash with this K-pop wannabez? And it lingers to this day. Oh, yeah, I don't like it. It's very like K-pop coded. Locked in under a management with a Lashmal treatment they'd rather erased entirely. They were thrown into a game stacked against them from the start. Force to prove their worth against forces favor to eclipse them before they even had the chance to shine. One of the things that, like, I don't understand is that, like, it's, yes, they were definitely very inspired, and even to this day, the style, it's very similar to K-pop, because it's pop music, but K-pop... it brought another elements to the pop music and then they started doing that but they implemented some other elements that k-pop doesn't have so i don't get it i'll never understand dance that hate to be honest because like for example I don't see, like, J-pop getting this type of AIDS, or C-pop getting this type of AIDS. Is fraud actually... Come on, let's go. Get that money from the ants. Guys, we gotta skip the ads just because of the reaction, but watch the ads, okay? Watch the ants. Disclaimer, the content presented this video represents independent research analysis and personal perspective created by fans for fans while we strive for historical factual accuracy, some commentary may contain speculative elements or subjective interpretations. I got you casual, sorry, sorry for pointing it out. Okay. Oh, not for the K-pop one of this. I would say yes for casual chuck. It's honestly frustrating, but I'm not gonna pretend that it's not some random label being thrown around without any basis. There is no denying that K-pop is big, especially in the Philippines. But in my humble opinion, K-pop is not what started the Filipino's fascination with pop groups. It all started back in 2003 with these guys. Because that's a thing, like, before K-pop, there were, like, groups all over the world from all nationalities already doing pop music in groups. But they were just, like, labeled together with, like, solo pop music. There was not, like, a specific category, per se. They were, like... boys bands, and girls bands, but they were pop, or they were R&B, or they were this. There was not, like, a specific group style, but there was already pop music in groups, for sure. Meteor Garden took the whole country by storm. Even the most famous people in the country were starstruck. Guys, did you know this group of Maynila? No, so, do you know this group? Is it just me or isn't that kind of... So weird. Anyway, the point is, we are not really exclusively drawn to K-pop. We just simply enjoy being a fan. There you go. Buas it's there they're here. Have they make-up here. Stop smelling the sofa, you weirdo. This study shows the level of engagement K -pop received across notable countries in the last 20 years. You will notice that 20 years ago, it was all South Korea and Japan. But as of today, Southeast Asia has become a top consumer region. Oh, very interesting. BTS and twice were the biggest K-bap Dax. During this time, Ariana Grande's Into You was dominating the charts, while Philippines has Sarah G's viral cell. Dada. I don't know exactly what caused a gradual decline in engagement of South Korea and Japan, but that engagement shift in Southeast Asia made Korean entertainment companies start looking at the Philippines and said, hmm, maybe that's the new meta. The year was 2018. SB19 debuted on the show BT, and the way they were marketed was just so wrong. We all know K-pop. Beis K-pop. Tunog K-pop. We all know that they didn't become big right away. I don't think that... the way they were marketed was wrong. I think, like, the music industry, again, it's just, like, K-pop was a category, like, a category, I don't like their words. That was just, like, strict to Korea, and, like, it didn't got, like, so big internationally. So, for a group to try... like for a pop group from a different country to try and make the same similar style of music with a lot of like those same elements, a lot of choreo, like the having rap included with the pop music. And then one of the things that they were not doing in the beginning was just like to... maybe try and implement the, like, Filipino elements as much, because I feel like that's what they were not doing. I think it was fair. I just think people were not, like, it was hard to adapt. So I kind of understand, but at the same time, I'm just like, I don't understand, like, just, it's a, it's a music group in trying to... Create music in that style. Why are you so hateful? Met with lukewarm reception. But what most people didn't know, though, was in that same year, a three-member K -pop group under Eshow Entertainment also made their debut in the Philippines in the hopes of replicating that boy band craze. Oh. Interesting. I'm Tavok sa canna, I BNF, or Benefit, which is a three-member Korean boy band, and they're here to promote their latest single, which is called Kunipidweo. Let's hear it from them, Idol. Let's listen 93.9, I FM. Oh, my God. Oh, damn. Oh, yeah. Oh, I have, I have definitely listened to this song. Where? Hmm. Okay, these guys can sing. I agree, I agree with Castro. Yeah, that's true. Wait, why did they make them stop? She was just like, man, we were just giving to the exciting part. Anyway, some of you might be confused. That was funny. After watching that clip, it turns out that BNF and SBN-T are sibling groups. Oh. By their different company names, because if you take a look at the companies under the umbrella of SBT, you can see both ShowBT and S-How Entertainment. Oh, wow. But this situation was far from fun. because SBT gave B&F and SB19 the same exact... Yeah, that's... I said that I know this song because that's an SB 19 song, isn't it? Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na -na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na -na-... What is the name of this song? Guys, you guys, like, if you follow me, you already know my memory sucks! Melodies to work with with the lyrics each group would add in their own language, I'm pretty sure Casual Chuck will. Dependipo, but the other, the songs, I'm from Korea, they give them to demo to us, and then from there, we'll make meeting, we, we'll, we'll be conceptualize, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll listen the song lots of times, and we think, what the thing that theme for the song, and then, if we're decided, I'll, I'll start, so let's start, so let's start, this must have put both groups in an awkward position. I'm sure you're starting to see how this is how the industry works. Because not only did they have to deal with a K-pop wannabe allegations, they also had to meet an actual spawn of that system. Like, how can a bunch of young Filipino boys match a heavily favored Korean group? And when I say heavily favored, here's what I mean. When Aspenetian's Stilaluha music video came out, one of the BNF members was the main character. Oh, not a single S&F member can be seen. Like, why? It was definitely looking like they were playing an unfair game with Svinantine as the underdogs. Okay. But the name of Svinatine's leader is John Paolo Nasse. And losing wasn't a part of his plan. So he went to work writing a very clever guy for sure. And very talented, we all know that. BNF came up with a love song. while SB-19 came up with an uplifting anthem about relentlessly chasing their dreams. Oh, very interesting, so both these groups were using like kind of the same demos, kind of the same samples, and then, like, working the demos and the samples to release their songs. That's interesting. Okay. I didn't like go up in the beginning. Even though Go Up didn't pop right away, they would eventually go viral after their dance practice was uploaded on September 2, 2019, which is an auspicious date because it's a clever translation of their name. Before all this happened, the country's pop groups were often seen as a joke. Tell me, how do you... Who are these poor girls? I feel bad for them, who are they? That was so funny. And the dancing was the most hilarious part. Sorry, sorry, I'm making fun if they are your favorites, but that was hilarious. So in a way, SB19 started the country's redemption arc early on in their career. SB19 gained the respect of more fans, and BNF disbanded that same year. Oh, Kabin entered the military service. Okay. Hanam became a streamer, and Day 1 became an MMA champion. Wow. That was a change of career. SB19 are already able to make their own songs, not only writing their lyrics, but also producing the beats and melodies, which gave birth to the many bangers we know and love today. Slowly but surely, as been 18, as well as their fan base 18. Listen, this time, I'm not gonna cry, okay? There's gonna be no tears for these episodes. Send it their music. They gained more and more loyal fans, not only because of their songs, but also because of their authenticity. The thing I'm, I'm gonna learn a new choreography. I feel like, I'm just, I honestly, I, honestly, I'm, sorry, for brown out, too, down here. Hello, sorry, it was browned, po, here. Oh my gosh, I love that Ken just fell asleep. It's just so fascinating. Ken is just like, I'm so over this. These guys react to random things. Oh my gosh. Even to this day. They are funny. Brick it up Okay, take it, right, take it, right, right, exhale, shake it out. Break it up, leave it, shake it up, leave it, shaking my, no, don't care, oh, don't care. They are such clowns, it really, like, gives the vibe of just like, I just want to be friends with them, because they seem to be so much fun together. So what I'm fly, so what I'm fly, so what I'm fly, so what I'm flying, so what I'm flying, ain't on ball, ain't involved. Okay, okay, okay, so we have a hero moment. It's just to chill and have some fun with the guys, I guess. that was too good that was too good we need that version i think we need that version in the studio right now okay in a bit while let's let's go let's see what's next haters always existed And they will always be... There was this one guy who accused them of being devil worshippers. In an interview, the SB 19, what's what they're People, I'm, I'm, I'm gonna to you, why she's not at a part in lyrics of the song, that, not just-bast-basta-mac -mac-cita-people-people-power. People love... To stuff like that. is human sacrifice. What can you? Lookanin you the dress. There's symbol of Camatian, Halimau, and Numiro of Diablo. Alam you, why? Wow. So, people love to push it. These boys even pray all the time that they can't even help themselves from doing it randomly. Spelling Time with us, many, many, many salamance to all of support you. May, do you say to you? Yes. Amen. Man, that weirdo was so annoying, the show she couldn't resist commenting this, but the more annoying things for me are the attempts at sabotage, allegedly. Crowd goes wild for SB 18 during an apparel brands fashion. Be careful. Proceeds showing a clip of Ken tripping on his pants. S.B19 headlines the New Year countdown. Proceeds to flash group names that are not even included in the lineup. Well, at least they apologize for this one. SB19 spectacularly held the biggest concert in the country. And this dude says, Okay, that successfully is na ira-off. As if it was some high school project. And don't get me started with the weirdly recurring technical issues enjoying concerts. SB19 had to go through a storm of problems like this and many others. But did it affect their momentum? Nope. Not even the most annoying thing. Keep growing! It seems to be stuck with them forever. And it's unfair because they didn't even have a choice. I feel it's been gone for a while, no? It was how they were marketed early on. Back then, their situation wasn't about self-expression. It was all about survival. This is why they always take every opportunity to explain it in their recent interviews. So SB and SB19 means soundbreak. We wanted to bring fresh sound to the music industry. The meaning of 19 is it's like the coming of age, so that's where people are most passionate and ambitious towards their dreams. We wanted to keep that mindset, that 19 mindset. A lot of fans think that this is a new meaning of SB19, but the truth is, they have been saying it ever since. Yeah, tell us about your group first. Actually, the name of group of our group actually came from the company name because we're from ShowBee Philippines, and then the 19, like 19 years old, like fresh. fresh, and the passion our, we're very eager to perform. In the recent interview with Rolling Stone Korea after Lollapalooza, they were asked a question about how their K-pop-inspired training affected their development as an artist. And I think it inspired them really well. When they started, there wasn't really a specific system they had to follow. K-pop was definitely an influence, but they were also in the early days of developing what P-pop is today. They had to create their own blueprint, as they mature... than developed as artists, they were able to create their own system, and that is something very important for them to highlight. Stahl couldn't have answer it any better. In my humble opinion, these claims about them being K-pop wannabes are just ridiculous, because how can you even call a song K -pop without a single Korean artist in it? I can't have Korean pop music without a Korean person. I wouldn't call K-pop a group of... A French, even actual K-pop artists and experts don't describe as being seen as K -pop. I don't describe as being a K-pop. I don't know K-pop, I mean, I think, that's not, that's that, that's I agree with what he's saying, absolutely right. So, I'm hoping that he's saying, absolutely right. So I'm hoping this video is enough to put that stigma about Aspenitine team to rest, because it's really getting old. Again, this storm of negativity didn't affect Aspenetian's momentum. But I'd be lying if I said that it didn't affect them personally. There are times that, like, feeling you, you're the star that not coming to... No, I said I was not going to cry, okay? I said I was not going to cry, and I'm not going to cry. I'm not going to cry. I'm... There are moments that, like, feeling you, you're the star that, not coming came along, but there are people who are looking for you, because they're root that you to shine. So, now the time you, that you know what you can't do you can't do you do. And if there are people who are not in in in in the way that we're just to touch to you, let's just you just, let's just you can't even know the light of your touch to you. Because, the day, that, not even if they don't know the shine you, I'm not gonna cry, let's go get your money with advertisements. Oh, guys! Also, I am kind of exposing myself, showing you my heads, so you know what's my algorithm. Oh, their creativity and their dedication to their class. Oh, who is him? I didn't saw his name, sorry. Oh my gosh. Who is it? Don't get his name out. Oh my gosh. Who is it? Don't get his name out that quick. Show me his name out that quick. Show me his name. they see the light of your taglay you. I love their creativity. Ding Dong Avanzado, I've never heard of him. Jessa Zaragoza, Duke Box Queen of the 90s. I don't know her either. Sorry, guys. So, if you are not, the effort that they put into their songs with their... So how they execute their dance numbers and they're improving. You know, from when they started, imagine what, what's discipline that way, to come up to that level. Like that portfolio, you know, and they're very humble. Yeah, and they're very humble. What inspires me the most about them, their passion, and dedication and hard work, you can't see the discipline in their, they're amazed. You know, I like the SB 19 a lot, they're really, really good. I'm not so crazy about the being, because they're, they're not, anyway, the SB 19, they're really, really good. I'm so proud of them, when I see them next to the Korean, say, no, what? Yeah. Oh, regime! I don't even follow her for their long, and I'm so sad that she's retiring. Oh, cichita we're in Philippines, because that's going to the world. But I think right now people are ready for it, and we are so happy. Probably so happy. You guys are doing it. So keep doing it. Right? I also want to say to each and every one of you, thank you. Thank you for supporting our P-pop, our very own P-pop. Because I just have to say, Kiyang Kaya Nila. Why am I crying? Almost. I'm not crying in this video. Casual, can you please stop making me cry? I am not gonna cry. But they don't think it like, oh, it's okay, it's like your word clash, let's continue. You know, a spear, right? There's a spearhead. SB 19 is part of that moment. Bro. Guys, guys, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry. Please let this be the most emotional part. Carrying all that momentum on New Year's Day, Sbneteen started 2026 strong by announcing their Wakasa Simula the trilogy concert finale set for April 18. That date was especially chosen for 18. See what they did there? On February 20th, they dropped their Wakasa Simula lead single, Visa. Pull up. love this song because it's inspired by the group's own touring experiences. The track uses clever wordplay between the original travel document visa and the Filipino word visa, which means power or effectiveness, highlighting the frustration of having true skill, yet still needing institutional permission to succeed. Come March 15, Japan didn't know what hit him when Aspen 18 rocked the stage at the dunk showcase in Yokohama. Oh, I haven't heard this one. They released the Wakasa Simula album featuring six new tracks along with its second single emoji featuring the C-pop icon Jolin. Which one I discovered their age? I was shocked. Like the thrill, destroying things I found. This song uses modern tech and internet culture like emojis and social media. as a metaphor for how people connect and communicate in the cyber age. It talks about how people often hide their true feelings behind a screen, using emojis to mask their real emotion, while searching for a genuine connection in a digital world. Like honestly, guys, who else writes bangers about these deep themes? Svinantine just never misses on making music that gets stuck in your memories. This is my favorite song on the album because it serves as a love letter to 18. Looking…
