@almostsober: This is great, I totally related with it. As an artist, I find myself in between your current state and the previous you mention from 10 years ago so it makes sense that you would feel this way.

@vincentnijman: So much I can relate to here! Thanks for the mention, buddy :<) I feel we are all inspiring each other, now more than ever before. I also strongly sense that we don't need old fashioned gurus any longer, we have examples of well spoken, intelligent, genuine people around us who can inspire us to be ourselves more and more, every single day. Cheers for being one of the people 'close' to me who keeps pointing out what I have been feeling for ages but couldn't really put my fingers on. It's very helpful and insightful. Big hug!

@minismallholding: Especially when it's something that could attract criticism or haters This is just so brave! It's something I'm not sure I could face. Although I don't think it really matters what the subject matter, once you start to get well known you'll always get criticism and haters/jealousy. I'm beginning to see social media as being like any tool in that it's not the tool that is bad or good, so much as how you use it. The part about it that I find the most concerning is it's addictive nature.

@wrestlingdesires: It's always exciting to see our friends on TV! I do hope that the future is bright. Social media is definitely going to evolve. Evolve or go extinct!

@ai-summaries: Decentralized Attention: The Rise of Community Driven Influence In a recent reflection, the speaker shared an inspiring story about a close friend who recently gained recognition as a plus size model and pole dancer on television. This event prompted the speaker to contemplate the changing nature of fame and influence in the digital age. From Seeking Approval to Embracing the Process The speaker recounted his own journey, noting how his mindset has evolved over the years. In the past, he was driven by a desire for approval and recognition, often obsessing over how his work would be perceived. However, he has since shifted his focus to simply enjoying the creative process and allowing his natural talents to shine through, believing that this authentic approach is the key to making a meaningful impact. The Decentralization of Attention The speaker envisions a future where attention and influence will become more decentralized, moving away from the traditional model of a few "household names" commanding the majority of public focus. Instead, he foresees a rise in community driven attention, where people are more invested in supporting and engaging with those within their own circles local leaders, innovators, and those who are actively pursuing their passions. The Evolving Role of Social Media The speaker acknowledges the transformative power of social media platforms, which have enabled greater access to diverse perspectives and opportunities for connection. However, he believes that as users mature in their approach to these technologies, they will become more intentional about how they allocate their attention, prioritizing meaningful interactions and personal growth over mindless scrolling. The Value of Mentorship and Community Drawing from his own experiences, the speaker emphasizes the profound impact of forging relationships with those who are further along on their journeys, whether they are musicians, artists, or other creatives. These "senpai" relationships, as he describes them, offer a level of connection and mutual understanding that is often lacking in the traditional celebrity fan dynamic. A Future of Decentralized Influence In conclusion, the speaker envisions a future where the spotlight will be more widely distributed, with a greater diversity of voices and perspectives gaining recognition. He believes that as we embrace this shift, the true measure of success will be found in our ability to continuously grow, connect with our communities, and bring forth new ideas that can positively impact the world around us.
