@jacobtothe: I have played the old MECC game and its remakes a fair bit, as doubtless all of us of a certain age did. As for the actual historical trail and its landmarks, I have only seen the Dalles, I think. And I have a reprint of an old guide somewhere. I should see whether I can still find it.
