I want you to take a second and we'll just look around the room you're in right now. Yeah, like, really look at it, taking the details. Right, the walls, the device you're listening to this deep dive on, or, you know, the empty space between you and the door. Because if you reach out and knock on your desk, I mean, it pushes back. Exactly. It feels solid. It feels fundamentally and undeniably real. But what if everything you're looking at right now? The shapes, the colors, the very dimensions of space, and the progression of time. What if it isn't actually objective reality? Yeah, what if what you were experiencing is really just a highly efficient data structure. Like a cosmic headset. Oh. Built not to show you the truth of the universe, but, you know, to aggressively compress data so you can actually survive. Welcome to the deep dive. I am your host, and today we are taking on something... Pretty massive. I am the resident physics expert here. And I have to admit, the stack of research we're unpacking today is, well, it is... On analytical idealism. And the wild thing is, they all point to the exact same, frankly terrifying conclusion. Right. So our mission today is to map out the architecture of the unseen. We're going to look for the source code that runs beneath the desktop of reality. But we should be clear up front. This isn't... you know, New Age mysticism or some woo -woo philosophy. Definitely not. We are looking at this entirely through the lens of information theory, game theory, and particle physics. We are treating the material world as a mathematically precise data structure. Which is really the only rigorous way to approach it. I mean, if we're going to talk about reality as an interface, we have to start by dismantling the thing that feels the most real to us. Exactly. Space time. To understand this underlying source code, we have to look at why the most prominent theoretical physicists working today are literally stating that space -time is doomed. That phrase, space-time is doomed. It sounds so, I don't know, apocalyptic. It does, yeah. But Arkani Hamid and others, they mean it quite literally. They aren't just being poetic for a lecture. So let's start right there. Rigorously tested theories of reality. Okay, which are. quantum mechanics, which governs the subatomic world, and general relativity, which, you know, govern. Say you want to probe the absolute smallest possible distances in the universe. Okay. Like, we're talking about the plank scale here, right? I hear that term thrown around a lot in physics stocks. What actually is it? It's a measurement of length. Specifically, it's about 10 to the power of negative 35able universe. Okay, so say I want to look at something that incredibly small. I need a microscope, right? Right. the wave just washes right over it and you don't get an image.
