Talking about Vascular Synth by @nicklewis on 3Speak

Hello folks, apologies for this slightly odd looking video, I was experimenting with Camo Studio on the iPad which is rather brilliant but I was recording this whilst chilling on the sofa! Had a lo...

Hello there. Let's see if this works. Let's see the top of my head. It's a bit of a bizarre video. Okay, right. A-U-M, here we go. I've got set up on the screen here Vascular Synph, which is this incredible synthesizer. I've been enjoying a great deal of late, and I put some stuff out on block tunes the other day, and I'm going to demonstrate by creating a fresh canvas, so I'm just going to press on the button on the top left-hand corner of the bin to delete the canvas. I'm running vascular synth within AUM, but vascular synth can be run on its own as a standalone app on the iPad as well. Accompany-Ning-N-N-N-A-N-N -A-N-A-N- is that a word, is one shot, which is a drum sampler. In fact, you can load any samples into it, really, so... you're not limited to just drums but I've chosen these ones and you'll demonstrate that right away by using this sequencer which I'm not going to go into too much detail on how this works today but this will come into play in a moment and I'm going to select a drum pattern don't worry about what I'm doing I'll come back to this plug in as a separate exercise, enough time. I'm going to close that down, get back to the vascular synth, and we're going to just turn, I'm going to select melodic. So along the top, you have a toolbar, you have a bin on the left-hand side, which is this icon here, I've just highlighted, you have the edit button, you have transform, which is a very interesting tool which we'll explore a little bit more later. When you have this, one, I think it's called Angiumonos, I can't pronounce a word, but you'll see how that works in the moment. You have a looper, which enables you to record movement on the screen. So anyway, if I was to turn this off, it back to none, you tap anywhere in the canvas, it adds a random... sounds of generator, it will be absolutely anything. And sometimes, I like the element of surprise. And in order to hear this play, we need to tap on the play button and the transport at the top, like this. And now, I can have an effect to it. I can add many effects. If they're holding instantly, there's something else in this game, it's where else my other finger? I've got more than one other finger. If I just do it, I think that helps me. If you turn, it must have done there. Maybe you hear the drums are playing. from the drum tour back. So this sequence was a general test sequence, I'm sending MIDI to the drum again. We've got something interesting now, it's not always the same as quite. You'll just notice that it quiet into it down, back to the centre, back up, the volume increases again. I'm going to drop it down here for a minute, I'm going to add another random instrument by tapping it over here on the left, and over on the right-hand side. I now, I've joined two instruments together, so they're kind of modulating each other. But tap on a generator more than once, it changes. removing this place down here, just be focused on it a few of a bit. Why, if you want you to edit this instrument slightly? Tap on the second icon on the toolbar, you're going to edit mode and you select any of the instruments. So you now get the controls for seven, you can randomize it. You can interrupt it. You can inject an other foe in order to modulate the ADA2, the decay is being affected by the FAA. So, you know, again, so you set it again, we've got some more activity on the parameters for this instrument. You set the leaks to being shorter or longer, it's good for the full bars. variety now, sounding pretty good. To come out here, there's been lots of opportunities here can do. With this, though, I would get enough time, and quite liking this base light on the main. Top back to the drums, and change the pattern slightly, and change the pattern slightly, and go into the pretext here, This is to a different pattern. I'm going to go for, if you could here, this might change the whole character. Backwood, I haven't had that back. I'm liking this. I find this really good. Now you want to add something melodic. We've got some abstract sounds playing so far. I don't know. That's another else. I don't really want an accordion, and it will be able to protect the being in the site. What's going on, maybe? I can also attack loopback, so all these things are going to read, so you know, loop mod for once. I'm quite happy with how this sounding so far. I'm just giving a little bit of a, what you can do with this. But I'm going to... and let's have a look at what controllers we start Metasequencer. So at the moment, the 3 is playing a random pattern. Let's say you want to control it a little bit more, we can... We can sequence it, and you can tap in the sequencer again. Okay, the notes are now a little bit of a high octave, really. So, there it is, Metasequencer, check the up, check down. together and effects can also be drawings to the effects of other instruments. Now, let's have happened on this pattern, and it starts it animates it, we're now going to sort of Genesis kind of mode, if you like, and everything's starting to evolve. Sometimes the levels go down a little bit too much, perhaps. I believe it to run for a little while. And in the meantime, we're going to get back to the drums, and I'm going to play with this. maybe do something with the drum sounds themselves, maybe play on the pitches. That doesn't think, which is it. Ooh, jokes, it's happened another time. That's appearing with these plugins, there's so much depth to them. It takes a lot of time to explore them in great depth. itself and Veska has its own directory for recording, all the way directly from Vescal itself, but we would probably, be running VASCLA within AUM, use AUM's own recording tools for that purpose, but considering I'm making a video in this case. I don't really want to worry about that too much. like that again Press the yellow, button at the top, you can see that, and now I've muted everything, apart from the effect, which is match. Not quite what I wanted to do. I can leave that for a minute. On top on, oh. Facing this one, next one long, we'll centre at the counterfeit thing. We can also load some different patterns. Oh, it does, it does work. Now, this is really cool, so I have stored this pattern in step, in pattern, so, put this pattern in pattern one. Let's assume we wanted to delete this whole thing, press a hold, track cam button, and canvas is cleared. I was going back into the drums, it just kind of, it can't be down a little bit. Now I'm going to add some... Some very noisy sound generators. And you go, explore those, and stop to two. Now, it's a certain pattern, we've still, a certain time, 10 to certain three seconds. And once he was playing, this is after then, best one. Factor pattern one. Oh, I can morpho, perhaps a pattern too. And that, folks, is it for now. Hello!

@steevc: These things make my brain hurt a bit. I'm focusing on the basics for now.
