Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, welcome to another Jongo's thoughts here on the blockchain. I'm going to sip a hot beverage. It tastes so nice. Hope you guys are having a great day. Welcome to another podcast of mine sharing thoughts, deep thoughts, let's say, about life, about blockchain, about faith, about whatever comes across my plate. And tonight, man, oh man, wow. Where do I begin? Okay, so I've spoken about this before. And this is not, like, a news flash for me personally. And especially if anyone has had any amount of time in the social media sphere, or anything online for that matter, anything related to social media. Let's be brutally honest. You are going to get advertised to. If you're not paying for the product, you are the product. That's how the popular saying goes. And these big, huge, multinational, trillion-dollar companies that basically run the internet are selling your information. They don't care. They hide behind all sorts of terms and services in the whole night, but at the end of the day, your information is sold to the highest bidder. There's no denying that. I was reminded of that tonight, and this is happening before, and I'm sure, again, it's not rare, and it's not that I don't expect it to happen, it's just when it does happen, it reminds you of the surveillance state that we live in. Just having a Sunday night dinner with my family. Had a nice little barbecue. We were just talking. And my wife brought up, she was just talking about it, just this product that we had purchased before. And it was just, it was just a conversation. Like, I promise you, literally, a 30-second conversation. It was not deep. It was not, oh, let's look at product reviews. It wasn't like, let's go Google this. It was her and I at the kitchen table talking about a product. I come downstairs to my office, no word of a lie. I turn on my computer, and I'm going to date myself here and show my age, but I logged into Facebook. And what do you think is the first thing I see when I log into Facebook? An ad for that product that had not been discussed in this household for years, and... Never been Google searched at all. The only reason this ad was served to me is because Facebook is selling, they're listening with the phones that we all own, and their algorithm is spitting out, hey, this person just spoke about this product, let's serve him an ad. Man, oh, man, oh man. Now, again, this is, it's not like... This is new. Anyone who has been in the social media world or online or use their phone, you know, this is, this is, they'll deny it, but that's what they do. They listen. They're listening right now. I'm doing this post, my phone is here with me, my computer, they're listening, they're listening to everything I'm saying. And it's like, I expect it. I expect it. The first couple of times it was almost like, oh, that's weird. Oh, wow. I must have, I wonder how they knew to serve that ad to me. You know, and that was a couple years ago, right? Like, when it first started coming out, and we've just accepted it. We've totally just accepted it. It's totally, it's okay for these companies. You just be listening in on conversations no matter what we're talking over dinner, guys. Like, and this is, this is not, like, a big product either. I think it was, like, $30 product. Like, it's... You know, and we bought it like 10 years ago, and we just happened to be discussing it tonight. I don't even know how it came up, but 20 minutes after we finished dinner, I come downstairs, log on to my desktop, and boom. So it's telling, so the phone, it's not even, I didn't even get the ad served to me on my phone. I got it served to me on my desktop computer because everything talks to everyone else. Every single platform. technology company, they all talk to each other. They're serving ads to you because you are nothing but a product to them. You are a product. You are a mark. You're a mark. That's what we are. That's what we've become. Marks. Not target audiences. Because if the smart AI algorithm, because I'm sure they're throwing AI in there and listening to your conversations, They would have listened to the conversation. There was absolutely no buy signals from us. I mean, maybe this is just the old school marketer and sales guy in me, but I did not make any indications that I was interested in buying this product. Neither did my wife. But, boom, there goes the ad. 20 minutes later, right on my desktop. Folks, it's just... You know, and again, nothing new. Like, if you've been in this environment for any amount of time, you know, these companies are listening to you through your phone. It's just, wow, it'd be nice, it'd be nice if they just, they kind of warns you. You know, like, don't lie to us. Just be up front. Say, hey, listen. You know, we've got technology, and we're going to be listening to you so we can serve ads to better serve you. I mean, at least, at least be a little kinder there, right? Hey, we're going to serve ads that we think you're going to like. Instead, they don't do that. They don't even, they deny it. They say, we're not listening to you. We're not. They are. They're 100% they're listening to you. So what do we do? What do we do? Do we shut off our phones? Do we go back and get rid of all these smartphones and go back to jitterbugs? I don't know. That's not going to happen. I just, and there's nothing really that I can say about it because it's the world we live in. But man, when you see that happen, you just, I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I, it's not that I, listen. Everything is online. There's no such thing as privacy. I mean, you can be anonymous. I guess you can. Heck, this blockchain is famous for being anonymous. But you go through your day-to-day stuff. Like, you're going to be using phones. You're going to be these flock cameras in the States. I mean, it's a surveillance state. The entire world is just, you can't, there's no such thing as privacy, at least in my opinion. There's not. You can do these things to maybe pretend you have the illusion of privacy, but there is none. There isn't. So what do we do? What do we do? What do we do going forward? Well, you know what? This is another reason why I love this blockchain. Because, you know what, this blockchain is not listening to me. My phone might be, and Facebook and Twitter or X or whatever it's called. They might be listening to me. Google might be. Google's definitely listening to me. But you know what? High Vizant. Hi, I'm going to upload this on ThreeSpeak, and the guys of ThreeSpeak are not taking my information and selling it to the highest bidder. I'm going to upload my blog post on Snappy this week, and you know what? Those guys are not going to be selling my information to anyone. I think that's another reason why this blockchain is so important. And I get it. It's, you know what, there's tons of issues with it. It's not decentralized. The powers to be control the DEF and the witness votes and the proposals and all that. But you know what? Even those guys, as bad as everyone wants to think they are, they're still not selling your information to people. They're not. Even the worst of the worst. type of people that have been on this blockchain are still not selling your information. That just shows you how rotten to the core these multinational conglomerates are when it comes to this technology stuff, man. And it's going to get worse. So what do we do? Hey, you live in it, right? You accept it. Just be warned. You're going to get served ads today and tomorrow and the next day from stuff you were just talking about. You never did a search for it or anything, and it's going to pop up on your feeds. Welcome to 2026. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing or how we just deal with it, but every time this happens to me and I notice it, it shocks me. It shocks me that this is allowed and it's just, it's mind-blowing to me. Mind-blowing. But hey, we just live in their world. Hope you guys have a good night.

@jfang003: It's a sad part of reality, but its not like we will stop using our phones either. They are just collecting so much of our data.
@onemanonewrite: Once the device is connected the internet and applications are being used, the information is already being collected, and some companies use it for data transactions
@shainemata: People used to joke that you never mention you have a little extra money. Your appliances and other assets overhear and know the best time to break or need replacement. Your experience is a step up from that.
@por500bolos: Well, I bet you'll be even more surprised to find out what happens if you do this following test: Try turning off your phone and, standing in front of it and with it completely off, start talking about a product you've never spoken about or mentioned anywhere before, just like with the product you mentioned in your video. And then go to your laptop or desktop and log into Facebook. And once you get over the scare, please tell me what happened. And hey! by chance could it be that you happen to belong to the Leisure Class?
