Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, welcome to another podcast, a fun-filled look into the mind of Jongo, and I apologize in advance. So, yeah, like I do on these podcasts, I basically, whatever I'm really thinking of, any given moment, that's what I talk about, whether it's blockchain, whether it's theology, whether it's life in general, it's kind of just, you know, every now and again, I like to just talk instead of type. I do love writing. It's one of my passions, if you haven't noticed. But I also just like chatting. I like conversating, and it's weird because this is a one-way street here, me talking into a microphone. Hopefully you guys listen to it, but I'd love feedback. I'd love the comments in return. That's what really fuels this conversation and this type of content. So, of course, you guys give me some good feedback, some good comments, I will send you HSBI tokens as my way of saying, thank you. So, as you guys know, I'm on the road, and I've been driving for, well, since Saturday night, really, and I stop every night, and, but during those drives, the couple of hours I have in between cities while I'm doing the southern... prairies here in Canada, I listen to the Bible. It's kind of how I, you know, I also like reading the Bible, but I love the audio versions of the Bible. I love the, that way of getting scripture in my mind is listening to it. And the readings that I was doing while driving today was in First Kings, and it was kind of... the story of Elijah, getting, Elijah being welcomed into scripture, and he was a prophet of Israel, and one of the, one of the only people that has not died on planet Earth. Enoch was one, and Elijah's another one, because he was taken up in the chariots to heaven. So, anyways, I love his story. It starts in First Kings, Chapter 17, goes 18, 19, and you see it throughout First Kings. Just an amazing man. Like, this guy was on fire for the Lord, but what I wanted to talk to you guys about was specifically in First Kings chapter 18. And this to me, this is how I know God is so real, because God has a sense of humor. And work with me here for a bit. I'll set the stage, and if you want to know what I'm talking about, you read First Kings chapter 18, and it starts, you know, kind of in the later bit of the chapter, like in 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, etc. But there is, basically, to set the scene, basically Elijah says, you know, people of Israel, they've fallen into worshiping false gods, and Elijah basically says, look, you have a choice. You either worship God, or you worship these false gods, but you can't be on the fence. If God is God, worship him, if it's these other gods, worship them. So the prophets of the false gods say, yeah, we'll play your game, Elijah, let's do this burnt offering of sorts. And it's on Mount Carmel, it's a very popular story where they take two cows and... Basically, the game is, let's say the game, the proof of God is, who can ever burn up the cows, is the fire from heaven is the real God. So, Elijah says, go ahead, so the false prophets go first, and this is where... I truly believe this is the funniest part of the Bible. This is comedy. Like, I could almost picture this. So the false priests and false prophets are doing all this mumbo-jumbo doing crazy dances. They're cutting themselves, and they're saying, oh, bail, hear us, bail is this false god, and come down and burn the cows, and nothing happens. In verse 27, Elijah starts mocking them. And this is basically what he says. Maybe you should cry a little bit more. Cry loud, because Bail is God, so maybe he's busy. Maybe he's doing something else. Maybe he, maybe Bail is just not at the phone right now. Or maybe he's sleeping. Like, this is in scripture. This is in scripture. Elijah is absolutely clowning these false prophets of this false God Bail. After, you know, they're jumping around, cutting each other, trying to sacrifice blood to this false God, Elijah just prays to God. God show them who's boss, basically, and fire comes down, burns up all the cows, burns up all the water, they doused the cows in what Elijah did. This is just to prove the point that God is who he says he is. Basically, God shows up the false prophets of Bail. look like, you know, buffoons, literally, and they, they made a decision. They made a business decision, as the kids would say. They chose a false God. They chose a false God to worship and did all this crazy sacrificing and dancing and cutting themselves, and nothing. Absolutely nothing. Elijah sits back, starts clowning them, making fun of everything that they're doing, but nothing happened with the false prophets and the false gods. So it's just, I was just reading First Kings, you know, listening to it while I was driving today, and I was just like, that is comedy. That is absolute comedy. Like, you could, you can almost picture Elijah, sitting back, letting these guys do whatever they're trying to do, and then Elijah's like, hey, why don't you guys just scream a little louder, guys? Like, maybe you got to wake up bail, like, you know, like, come on, what are you doing here? Like, you know, maybe he's sleeping, maybe he's gone on a journey, maybe he's walking, he can't pick up the phone right now. He's got his phone on mute. It's just, it's just hilarious to me. That's just, anyways, read the stories of Elijah. Elijah is, was so, and he went through it all, man, like you, he went through depression, he went through not having anything to eat, he didn't, he was, he went through everything, the true human experience, but he remained faithful, and it was a beautiful, it's a beautiful ending to his story, he even shows up in the, in the New Testament with on the Mount of Transfiguration, and just, it's such a powerful, man in the Bible. I highly recommend you guys read up on them. First Kings, chapter 17 onwards. That's where you're introduced, introduced to Elijah the Tishbite. So, yeah, that's my thoughts. Just crazy comedy from scripture. Just one of those stories I will always envision and just laugh, giggle, because it is, it's comedy. That's God. God's got a sense of humor. He's got to have a sense of humor. Putting that in scripture. Anyways, hope you guys have a fantastic night. I am going to take a break, have a rest, and I will be up, driving bright and early tomorrow morning. Take care.
@latinowinner: good on you, keep the good work up
@shamis: Nice to hear the story of Elijah and the false prophets as told in the story and interesting to hear how you utilise your time during the break at night hours.
@videoaddiction: It is easy to focus on everything that seems to be going wrong and forget that there may be more happening around us than we can see.
@hatdogsensei: I agree Elijah is indeed a remarkable man
