All right. So, welcome back. It's me again. Hopefully you guys are having a fantastic start to the week. I am beginning my week in a truck stop in Gladstone, Manitoba. Let me tell you. You have not experienced life until you've been to Gladstone, Manitoba. I actually really do like this truck stop. It's got everything I need, and there's never any trucks here. So I basically have showers to myself, parking space to myself, 24-hour washroom if I need it. It's actually a really good place. Anyways, we're not talking about truck stops in today's episode of the podcast. I still haven't figured out a name for this thing yet. But I wanted to talk to you guys today about the amazing weekend I had in Winnipeg preaching. Well, I wasn't preaching. Who am I kidding? I was... ministering to people, I was, I was talking to people, we were discussing Bible, theology. It was just so rewarding. And the cherry on top, the cherry on top was meeting a gentleman, if you guys listened in and read my post last week, a guy that does a ministry for truckers. I got to meet up with him for lunch, and it was just a really, really rewarding fellowship with a fellow believer. And the thing is, we are from different denominations, completely different denominations. But it was a very, very rewarding fellowship, and it's a friendship, I hope, will continue going forward, because he's a really good guy. and the ministry that he does is needed, especially for truckers. Like you guys know, I was saying this last week, that the amount of time that truckers spend by themselves, away from their family, all they have is basically, they're in their own mind, right? Excuse me, as I'm coughing. They talk to themselves. They're not talking to... to anyone unless they're doing team driving, but generally they're by themselves away from their family, and the only person they're talking to is themselves. So this is why I think ministry for truckers is important, because we're saying, hey, no, talk to God, that time, that alone time you have, you have someone that's with you, and that is God. So it was just, again, a very rewarding experience, but I wanted to talk to you guys a little bit, not only about the experience, but He approached me, he asked me, we were talking, and as you guys know or may not know, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, which means that if you take that name, Seventh-day Adventist, we keep the Seventh-day Sabbath as instructed in the Ten Commandments, and we believe in the soon Advent and second coming of Christ. So, He just asked me straight up, you know, again, like I said, we're both, we're different denominations, we're both believers, but we're from different denominations, and he's like, so why, why do you keep, why do you keep Sabbath? And this is, this is a topic, you know, it's hotly debated in Christendom, and, and, you know, I have, I have my opinions on it, but opinions are, you know, whatever when it comes to, what does the Bible say? And this was my response to him. I wasn't trying to puff up myself and boast and all this, because that's not what we believe as Adventists. We say it like this. Christ is our example. Point blank, period. He is our example. And in the scriptures, Christ kept the Sabbath, the seventh day Sabbath, which is commonly called Saturday. He kept it. As his custom was, he went into the synagogues, and the Pharisees fought him about this. They were, you know, well, you're healing on the Sabbath, don't do that, you're eating, you're picking corn on the Sabbath, don't do this. And what Christ was doing when he was teaching about the Sabbath was, you can do good on the Sabbath. It's not this pharicitical, you can't do this, you can't do this, you can't do this. What is the Sabbath? The Sabbath is God's little slice of heaven. Within the six days of creation, he rested on the seventh, and he sanctified it. That means he made it holy. Only God can make a day holy. We can't make a day holy. And then Christ says, I am Lord of the Sabbath. Well, he says, the son of man is Lord of the Sabbath. So it's his day. The Lord's day is the Sabbath. And that's what the Bible says. I mean, you know, there's opinions out there that Sunday is the Lord's day. And that was, again, not... what I was trying to talk to this gentleman about. It wasn't like, I'm right, you're wrong, or anything like that. He just asked me, why do you guys keep the Seventh-day Sabbath? And the answer was simple. Christ kept it. Christ is our example. And he showed us how to keep it, to do good on it, to feed the hungry, to heal people, to spend time with God. That's what the Sabbath, it's supposed to be a joyful, beautiful time and it's not a burden, it's not works-based salvation. How, you know, like, let's, let's look at it this way. How can it be works-based salvation when you're told to rest? It's literally the complete opposite of works. You're to rest. Relax. Spend time with Christ. Spend time in His word, spend time in fellowship. So this is, this is really what the, the, you know, the really powerful fellowship I had with this gentleman, it wasn't boasting, it wasn't puffing up my chest saying, I'm right, you're wrong, nothing like that. Look, this guy is an elder, and he's been in the church a lot longer than I have. He's seen some things. But he asked the question, and we're told in scripture to be ready to give an answer for what you believe. And I see in the scripture from Genesis to Revelation that the only day... that God sanctified and made holy was the Seventh-day Sabbath, commonly called Saturday. So to me, that's my, that's the test for me. Regardless of what church fathers have said, regardless of what tradition, what something, you know, whatever tradition might have, I go by what the Bible says, and the Bible says, remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy. That's Exodus 20, verse 8. So it was a great fellowship, and it was just, it was just to me, it was a, it was a beautiful time where there was no ego, there was no pride, there was no puffing up, there was nothing. It was just two people breaking bread talking about Christ, Christ resurrection, Christ dying for our sins, Christ being our Savior, and that, I think. No matter what denomination you are within Christendom, and even my Catholic brothers and sisters, when we talk Christ, when Christ is first and foremost, when he's the one we focus on, all the other stuff we can respectfully discuss, we can respectfully, maybe even disagree with each other, but if we keep Christ center. always, I think that is, that's what God wants us to do. So anyways, fantastic, fantastic end of the weekend. Just, you know, it's so great. I'm getting ready for the second half now of my trip. I'm heading back west. I've started the trip back west now. So I will be home in a little over a week. But I'll try to keep up here with all the content. Hopefully you guys are enjoying these little blurbs. I try to keep them under 10 minutes because I value your time. And I know you can be doing a lot of other things. So I appreciate you coming and listen to me, talking about God, and sharing my thoughts on pretty much Bibles, books, and blockchains. Anyways, have a fantastic night, guys, and I will see you on the next episode.
