Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another Bible Books and Blockchain podcasts. And we're continuing on with the deep dive that I'm doing. My guinea pig experiment to try to get into the habit of Bible journaling, but also doing deep dives into First and Second Corinthians. So we're on Chapter 3. of 1 Corinthians now. But before I get into it and dive in, I just wanted to say that I've been really inspired by all of the videos I've been watching when it comes to Bible journaling. And... creating habits in our diving into scripture. This is pretty important for me because it's something I lack. I seem to skim through Bible readings. I go really quickly. It's almost like it's this task, and I need to accomplish it, excuse me. And that's fine. I mean, it's, you know, it's fine to read the Bible, and so you get... familiarity with it, but a deep dive into verse by verse, journaling, verse by verse study has been very beneficial. I mean, I've only, you know, disclaimer, I've done four chapters now, so this is chapter three. We're always a day behind, and, you know, we might not be exactly doing this each and every day, but there is the 29 chapters of the two books, so I will get through them. It's just, it might take us a couple months. I hope you guys don't have any plans. Anyways, I hope this is beneficial. I hope, I hope people are getting some value from this. And, yeah, this is chapter 3 of 1 Corinthians. So, you know, I have, I have a, you know, my Bible, my everyday carry Bible that I use right now. it's got some really nice little highlights, not necessarily chapter headings, but paragraph headings to kind of, you know, keep us focused. And the little heading under chapter 3 is laborers with God. And then at verse 16, it says the temple of God. And let me just, I'll put, you know, before I dive into the two verses that I highlighted, So the verse, yeah, so verse 16 and verse 17 were the ones that I really highlighted for me. And I'll just read them quickly for you. This is 1 Corinthians chapter 3, verse 16. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you. That's verse 16. And verse 19, for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And for it is written, that is a reference to, and I'll tell you right now, chapter 20, no, sorry, yeah, chapter 1, verse 20, and chapter 2, Job 13, I'm sitting here looking at my references in the Bible. One day I'll figure this out, sorry. it is written when you see it is written in the New Testament, that's usually pointing back to an Old Testament scripture, and that Old Testament scripture is pointing to Job 513. Just a little reference there for you. So, yeah, if you saw chapter, verse 19 really pointed back to a couple of the previous chapters in Corinthians, kind of like, you know, the wisdom of the world is foolishness with God. I mean, that's... That seems to be a recurring theme, you know, like the world is foolish, the world is, is a little crazy, you know, and it's, and it's different to be for God, when the world isn't for God, if that makes any sense. So that was, that was kind of my takeaway from verse 19 there. But the, the big, the big takeaway, the big, my thought and takeaway sentence was, our bodies are the temple of God, and that's found again, 1 Corinthians chapter 3, verses 16, and it even goes 17. So let's, I'll read, I'll read 16 and then put 17 into context, too. So 16 again is know ye not that you're the temple of God. and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Huge. So that was, my takeaway is that our bodies are the temple of God. And that's obviously a huge theological dive into... the temple of God and what that means, you know, daily sacrifice, dying to self daily, treating our bodies with respect, putting good food, exercising, taking care of it. And this is all stuff, you know, I don't do anything. I don't do any of it. So this is definitely a wake-up call for me. I say I love God, I say that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, I say all this stuff, but how am I treating his temple, right? Am I stuffing it with fast food and, you know, am I sitting around doing nothing, or am I taking care of it, taking care of the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit? That's huge, that's big. So that was my takeaway from verse 3. I did highlight verse 19 as well, because it kind of, it kind of piggybacked off of verse 18 in chapter 1, where my takeaway was the cross is foolishness to the lost, and it was kind of, you know, the world is foolishness to God. Like, that's what reminded me there, but verse 16 was my takeaway verse. Our bodies are the temple of God, and it's a self-checked for me personally. You know, what am I doing? Am I taking care of this body? Am I treating it? I just trying, you know. 49 years old a couple of days ago. I'm on the back half here, man. Like, I don't have more years ahead of me. I have less years ahead of me, more in the rear. So this is the back nine of my life. What am I doing? How do I honor God by respecting the temple he has given me? It's a question. It's a question I think we should all ask. And that's something I'm going to ask myself prayerfully going forward. So, yeah, day three, our bodies of the Temple of God, was my takeaway. Versus 16 and 19 were kind of the highlights of that. So, yeah, I hope this is just, you know, something to ponder, not only listening to me kind of go through this, but also. Hopefully you're going through this as well with 1 Corinthians chapter 3, and what is your takeaway from that? I would love to hear it again. If you guys engage with me in these blog posts, in these podcasts of sorts, I will reward you with HSBI tokens. The only thing I ask is that you put the keyword. Foolish will be the keyword. If you use Foolish in a part of the podcast for all of you savvy listeners, I will definitely reward you guys with some tokens and upvotes. @videoaddiction: Those verses can transform people's understanding of faith.

@youngezeblinzz: This is a good remake. And also a lesson to learn.

@hatdogsensei: foolish spiritual growth and maturity is something that needs some effort
