Oh, good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Thoughts with Django. More yapping into this little professional microphone I got. It's so professional. I feel like such a TikTok creator using this thing. Holding it between my two fingers, like this tiny little microphone. But hey, this is what all the cool kids do. Anyways, thank you guys for checking out the... the audio, I'm not even going to call this a podcast, and I was going to do a, um, kind of a continue on the Bible journal post, but, um, something else kind of came up, and, um, I, I just wanted to talk about it tonight, so it's kind of spilling my, my thoughts. There was no real plan for this, uh, my plans kind of got, uh, kicked in the kneecaps, let's say, and that's really what I want to talk to you guys about. I was having conversations with family members today, and we were kind of talking basically about how when you're younger, you have this game plan of how you think your life is going to turn out, and then... reality is not how you envisioned. And it reminds me of, you know, obviously in the Bible, the story of Job, like Job looked like he had it all, right? He had wealth, he had family, wife, plenty of land. And Satan took it all away. Took it all away, but the one thing he never took away was Job's love of God. and life has a very interesting way of kind of throwing you curveballs and you adjust to it, you know, like, you really do, you keep going, right? Like, you don't have any other options, like, what are you going to do? You know, like, I'm of the frame of mind that you get thrown curve balls, you still got to swing, you still got to move forward, you still got to try to get the first base. And it's okay, it's okay to experience these ups and downs, because that's kind of how life is. There's that popular saying that, you know, God laughs at our plans. I understand what the context is, but I don't, I don't kind of share that because while the saying might be he laughs at his plans. He's got the plans. It's not our plans that matter, right? I mean, there's a reason why things might not have worked out for you. If you have faith, you have to believe that God knows what's best. Think of the Lord's prayer, right? It's not, hey, God, give me everything I want. It's let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Your will. Right, like this is about God. It's not about us. It's not about me. It's not about woe is me. It's not about the ups and downs. It's God wants his will to come to fruition. And if your plans line up, you can rest assured that you will get it. You know, your life will turn out exactly how. God wanted it to, if you allow him, to let it happen. And that was a very tough lesson for me over the years, just because I thought I was my own savior. Let's be brutally honest, I thought I could figure it all out. I thought I knew it all. I didn't, because as soon as one of those curveballs came, and the next curveball came, the next curveball came, I realized that... everything I tried wasn't working. It wasn't until I kind of accepted, accepted at all, you know, like, you accept the wins and you accept the losses. And if you were a believer, if you're a person of faith, you pray that those wins and losses were for his glory. no matter what, and if you have that kind of attitude towards life in general, I think you can navigate it a lot more, but it means you've got to die to self, it means you've got to put your dreams, aspirations, all that stuff, and you've got to prayerfully pray, prayerfully pray, prayerfully pray, that your dreams go along with his will. Because he wants you to be happy, you know, but he knows that happiness comes in a relationship with him. And that's a tough pill to swallow for a lot of us. We all want to live our lives. We all want to be right. We all want to be wealthy and healthy and all that stuff. But if the stuff does not line up with his will, you're going to have an uphill battle. It's not going to be pretty. Um, so you, I don't know, I, you know, I'm all over the place here tonight, mainly because I just, uh, I just realized tonight that I've got to be okay with the peaks and valleys. Don't get too high when things are great and don't get too low when things suck, because things are going to be great and things are going to suck. If you keep your eyes on Christ, if you do His will, if you submit and die to self daily, those peaks and valleys, I promise you, they even out. And I can say that with assurance because I'm living proof. I'm living proof of that, guys. I'm living proof of someone who, and this is the thing, like, I didn't grow up. in a religious household. I was not going to church every week. I was a secular in the world, doubting, almost hating religion, as you could get. And I think that's a blessing. It's a benefit to me personally, because I think it would have been different, right, if I grew up in the church. But I didn't, I came to the faith, or, you know, I'll shout out my, my... My Calvinist brothers and sisters, God shows me, right? And I'm grateful. And, yeah, it's just, it's, I'm telling you, it's, as someone who converted later in life, the ups and downs get a whole lot easier when you focus on Christ. When you have that relationship and you're seeking his kingdom and his righteousness, the ups and downs, hey, they happen, right? They happen. They're going to happen. This is life. It's not supposed to be what God laughs at our plans, as the saying goes. But we remain faithful, and we put on that armor of God, and we keep going. And things seem to work out. They really do. You just got to keep having faith. I hope this helped you guys some way, someone listening to this, some time down the road. Just remember that when you give it all to him, the ups and downs are whatever. They happen.
