Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Jongo here again, with another podcast slash blog post slash rant slash theological thoughts. Does that make sense? I think I hit every angle of what this is going to be, or what I think it's going to be. Anyways, let's dive into it. So, I had quite an experience today at work. So, as you guys know, I work for my church, and part of that job description is I go to different churches around this part of the country, set up shop, and I basically sell different products. health food products, bibles, and books, and the nine. So, it gives me a very, uh, it's a blessing. Like, the job is absolutely heaven sent. And, um, I was in a, uh, I was in a major Canadian city today. And, uh, there was a, a lady that came in to the, to the store. And, um, she had her daughter with her. And she, they came and, purchased products. I've seen them before. They've been in countless times. And thanks for your business. Okay, see you later. They left. Didn't think anything of it. And then probably, let's say, 30 seconds after they left, I heard this scream coming from outside. It was a man screaming. It wasn't the lady. and I kind of peered out the window and I look and I see this guy kind of, you know, he looked inebriated, he looked drunk, and he was kind of stumbling forward and walking across the street. Where I was, where I was set up, it's not rare, you know, to have these people that kind of come around, it's kind of... not necessarily inner city, but it's a, you know, there's issues in, in Canadian cities now, you know, with homelessness and abuse and whatnot. So, I just thought the guy was, you know, drunk and, and, and kind of was screaming and whatnot, didn't think anything of it, you know, just made sure he walked across the street without getting hit by a car, and, you know, so... I'm continuing to work, and then I get a phone call, and apparently what happened was, is that this guy walked up and tried to snatch the little girl that came in with her mom to the store just moments earlier. And the mom protected her child, got into her car and sped off. And when this guy was screaming, what he did is he ran after the car and threw a bottle or something. I don't, I don't know. I don't know the exact story. But we, so this was very disturbing. This was, you know, kind of, like, just, this happened, and, like, I was right there, and I didn't even know what was going on. So one thing, you know, I felt guilty for not taking action, even though I had no idea what was going on. I just, you know. It's just one of those things, you know, it could have been worse, and it wasn't. By God's grace, it wasn't, it wasn't worse. It's still traumatic, and the lady called the store, um, that I work for, and they let me know what happened. So immediately, I, uh, I went to, to the church, and there's video surveillance, so we, we got the footage, um, they couldn't get total clear. of what happened, but they got the visual of the guy who did it, and they got the visual of him, like, throwing the bottle or whatnot. And, um, so we did, you know, we did what you would assume to do. We, we notified the authorities that, that this was going on, and, um, the lady took all the information down and said, okay, we'll, we'll send officers over right away. Four hours after the incident, the officers are nowhere to be found. I finally get a note from one of the officers with a case file number and everything. Basically, in a nutshell, this is what they said. We are understaffed, we are super busy, and there's not really much, without saying there's not really much we can do. They basically said, we're super busy, we're understaffed. give us a call tomorrow and we'll go over the details. I mean, I'm sitting here thinking, like, this is a child that was potentially abducted. I don't know if that was what this guy was into, you know, but the fact that he tried to snatch the child, something wasn't right with this whole situation. So we have the video evidence of this guy flinging the bottle, perfect, you know, what he's wearing everything. So I'm sitting there thinking, okay, the cops will just come, maybe he's super drunk, like, get him off the street, let him sober up, you know, whatnot, you know, does the woman want to press charges? I don't know, but the point is, is like, this is a guy walking around the streets, attacking people and trying to grab kids. The cops didn't see that as a priority, I guess. And part of me is angry. Part of me is saying, like, you know, I'm a taxpayer, and I don't live in that jurisdiction, but still, I pay taxes for police services, and if we are not putting children at the priority list, the top of the priority lists in our law and our protection services, what are we doing? What are we doing? So I'm, I was angry at that. And I was angry at the individual for doing this, obviously. But then I started thinking of Bible. It's amazing how God works. So the first verse that came to mind was in Matthew Chapter 13, where it's, you know, it's the parable. of the man, you know, that sowed the good seed, excuse me, in the field. And, you know, the wheat and the tears, and the servants are like, well, aren't we going to, you know, get these tears up? The weeds, let's say. Who sowed these weeds? And the, the person in the story says, we can't get them yet, but. You got to let them grow together. You got to see the wheat and the tears grow until the time of the harvest. And the servants were upset. They're like, who did this? And this parable represents what God is saying, and God says, an enemy has done this. I think that's very important for us to remember. I think it's very important for us to remember that this is not... This world is controlled by the Prince of Evil. This is his domain. If you need proof for that, go read Job 1 and Job 2. Satan is walking to and fro on the earth. This is his domain. This is the enemy. That's literally what this says in Matthew 13. Without even having to beat around the bush, it literally says he's the devil. The devil did this. An enemy has done this. This is why this world is so... Crazy. It's not that, you know, it reminds me also of Ephusion 612, or he wrestle not against flesh and blood. Like, like, people are not the enemy. People do things that make them out to be the enemy, and people do things that are, that is evil at the core. But it's because this, this world is, is ripe with sin. It's, it's, it's, it's, Satan has, corrupted us, corrupted media, corrupted governments, corrupted everything on this planet to fine tune it to his, what he wants to happen here. People could get angry and say, well, why didn't the cops do more, yeah, I'm angry, the cops did more things, but the way that this world is set up is for the protection of children and the protection of... of, and this is broad daylight, too, that this happened. This is low totem pole priority. You know what a lot of the priority is, giving tickets to people who forgot to renew their registration. The cops have plenty of money to give, you know, budgets seem to be okay there, but for protecting kids, and it's not that, you know, they're understaffed, I get it, but the reason is, is because this world is designed to to have things like this happen, where we take away from the good policing and the stuff that's supposed to serve and protect people, and we put it at the bottom of the totem pole, and this is because this world is set up to be like this. This is not God's doing. People that point the finger, oh, God did this, this isn't God's doing. This is, an enemy has done this. Listen to the words of Jesus in Matthew 13, an enemy has done this. And then I'll piggyback this off of Ephesion 612, where we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but the spiritual wickedness in dark, that's in high places. This is the enemy. So, yeah, part of me is angry. Part of me is feeling guilty even. But... The story kind of has an asterisk, right? Because the lady's safe, the child is safe. No one was hurt physically. I'm sure emotionally people are hurt. But there was no bruises, there was no cuts, there was no abduction, there was no physical harm. That's the good news. The bad news is, is that we live in a world that this is almost accepted as normal. You know, not everyone listening to this, obviously, is a believer. And I know that it's not, this is not warm and fuzzy, but here's the good news out of all this, and especially if you're a believer, you will appreciate this. We know how this story ends. We know who wins. We know that this type of sin, this type of evil will not last forever. I'm echoing the words here of John the Revelator in Revelation, the end of Revelation, where he says, even so, come, Lord Jesus. Come, come soon. I'm not sure how much more this world can continue to exist like this, where children are not protected, where people don't feel safe walking in the middle of the day. This is just, this is crazy. This is crazy stuff. So I know this is, you know, maybe negative Nancy stuff, and people don't want to hear this, and they probably heard all the beautiful, warm, and fuzzy messages of the gospel. you know, let's be brutally honest, this is, this world is fallen, and it's not going to get better. So that's why I make these, these, these, these posts, why I write stuff, why I, I'm trying to maybe plant a seed into people where they know, deep down, that something's not right, something's not right here. And this is not how it's supposed to be. And you can get every answer I've ever needed for why the world is like this is found in Scripture. It's found in a relationship with Christ. And I'm grateful for it, and I pray that you guys look to deepen your relationship. You're going to need it. We're all going to need it in these crazy times ahead. But also, I'm praying. for the family that went through this today. And I hope that in the future, no one else has to go through this. And sadly, that's wishful thinking, because people go through stuff like this all the time. Anyways, sorry, guys, sorry to be such a Debbie Downer, but I just want you guys to remember these verses. If you ever, if bad things happen in this planet. Read Matthew 13. An enemy has done this. The enemy is not flesh and blood. It's not people that might disagree with you. It's not people that don't believe the same as you. These are not your enemies, okay? If you're a Christian, people of other faiths are not your enemy. You have truth, they might not believe your truth, and that's, you hold on to what is true, but they're not, still not your enemy. The enemy is the prince of this world, and we need to remember that. Remember Matthew 13, remember Ephesion 6, 12, Job, 1st and 2nd Job, chapter 1 and 2nd Job. You know what I'm saying. Anyways, sorry, guys, this is getting to be 15 minutes long.
