Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another podcast. I'm back home. This is the first audio recording I've done in my home office, which is nice. It's nice to be here, and it's allowed me to really reflect and get back into some... some plans I had for some Bible studies, and I mentioned it yesterday with the Jong's Bible journaling project. That's a mouthful. And what I'm going to do here over 29 days, it might not be exactly 29 consecutive days, but the plan I'm doing is going to be 29 days, and it is because I'm going to go through 1st and 2nd Corinthians. This Bible journaling project that I'm doing is a verse-by-verse study in. And the format is pretty simple. Every day, I read one chapter of the book in the Bible I'm going to be studying. So I wanted to do 1st and 2nd Corinthians. So two books, but, you know, kind of, they go together. So it's about, it's 16th, 1st Corinthians, 13 in 2nd Corinthians, so 29 total days. And the method is very simple. You read the scripture, you mark down what chapter it is, and then you get one big, beautiful sentence, the big takeaway. Not the entire... every single little intricate detail of the chapter you've read, but the big takeaway. So if you've read, you know, first and second Corinthians, obviously this is going to be, you know, kind of second nature to you, you'll know what I'm talking about, especially because I'm doing Chapter 1 of 1st Corinthians today. And this, this, um, This is Paul. Now I'm not going to listen. Let me say. I'm not a theologian. So this is definitely not gospel. This is my takeaway from reading this chapter prayerfully. So Paul's got some issues with the Corinthian church, the church in Corinth. And I really, I loved verse 10, where it says that, you know, He wants there to be no divisions. He wants us all in the same mind that the church needs to be together, which is beautiful, but there will be a falling away, and we see that in further books and epistles that Paul writes, but this was his message to Corinth. This was the big takeaway, though, from verse 18 to about 25. The foolishness of the world's wisdom. And verse 18 is beautiful. It says, for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God. Absolutely loved that. And another big, big, big verse, a couple of them here was 22 and 23. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom. But we preach Christ crucified unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greek's foolishness. And if you know the history of the Jewish nation, they were always asking Christ, show us a sign, show us a sign that you're from God, show us a sign. So the Jewish nation required a sign. But then the Greeks, and especially you saw Paul in the Book of Acts when he's on Mars Hill, You know, they were all this wisdom. They wanted wisdom. They wanted to be enlightened. So it didn't make, the gospel didn't make sense to the Greeks, to the, to the Gentiles. But this was the beauty of God's message. This was the beauty of the cross. And I'll just, what I wrote down for 1st Corinthians, this is, this was my takeaway. So this is chapter 1. This is my one sentence. The cross is foolish to the lost. Think about it. You tell someone who's not a believer about Jesus, the resurrection. You tell them about God's plan of redemption. You talk about sin and its destructive power on this earth. And to them it's foolishness. No, no, no, no, no, no, it's all foolishness. You tell us someone who might... consider themselves an educated person. And to them, it's, it's, it's, it doesn't make any sense. It doesn't, there's no reason in their minds to this. Paul is telling us, this is what happened back then at the church in Corinth, and it's happening now. If you're a believer and you tell people, you're a believer, A big chunk of the world writes you off as crazy. This was, the big part for me, from verse 18 to 25, was that the cross is foolish to the world. Religion, faith in Jesus, is foolishness to the world. Because the majority of the world will be lost. But to those that are saved, right? to those that are saved, and that was verse 18. It's the power of God. That was my takeaway. So I wrote that down in my journal, and I've got to laugh at myself. I have about 20 different journals going on right now. I had this plan where I was going to use this bullet journal, and I mentioned it yesterday. I'm taking the bullet journal idea, but I'm putting it into a much smaller little pocket -type journal. It's not going to be an A5 size. This is a much smaller journal, and I think this is going to work out. For now, at least, this is my plan. So I got my Bible, my compact Bible, and I got my journal. And they're going to go with me wherever I go. And every day, I'm going to commit to at least reading the scripture, but I want to commit to doing these little exposés, I guess, of my journaling experience and my journaling, journal, my journaling journey. if that makes sense. So, hope you guys found this valuable. I'd love to hear your thoughts on 1st Corinthians chapter 1. What's your takeaway? What's the big message if you read that? What is it that God is telling you in that verse, in that chapter, excuse me? I'd love to hear it. Thank you guys for listening in, and I will definitely be rewarding the really, really nice, beautiful comments. You don't have to agree with me. You don't even have to be a believer. I will reward you regardless. This is, this is not me, you know, throwing weight around at all. I just want you guys to talk about faith, to talk about religion, to talk about life, to talk about scripture, to talk about, you know, do you consider it foolish? Do you consider this wise? Do you consider this insanity? What do you guys think about 1st Corinthians, chapter 1?
