Once Upon a Time, I published a meta -analysis video about Crotum, and funnily enough, it made the internet more angry at me than anything else I've published. The enraged comments flooded in when I called it an opioid, a non-neutropic performance enhancer, and criticized it for a lack of human clinical trials. Then, in 2016, I was actually a Donald Trump representative in a 90-minute televised debate, and I offhandedly made the libertarian case for the legality and harm reduction potential of crotum, which my debate opponent didn't like. I... feel politically vindicated on that one, because the Trump administration has generally moved in a more libertarian direction with public health, and Crodham remained legal, giving millions the herb they need for chronic pain management, or resisting, succumbing to more harmful opioids. But... I think that's about as political as we'll get in this episode. Since then, there have been human clinical trials of crotum. That's the good news, but there's plenty of bad news, namely the sordid state of the industry. which is largely unconcerned with the well-being of their customers. Fly-by-night vendors abound, and chemists create ultra-addictive forms of the herb, which marketers slap silly labels on, and then sell at gas stations. And really, the only thing you should be buying at gas stations? is gas. This brings me to an important and pragmatic red pill. In a more libertarian world, there's less persnickety rules barring greedy corporations and bad actors from predating on consumers. That's the big trade-off. But those corporations still need us to click buy now buttons. and swipe our cards. A serious responsibility falls on you to make smarter choices about what you buy or put in your body, especially when it comes to things like Crodham. Today, I'm joined by Brandon of Tribe Botanics based in New Jersey, which I think stands out because of their... transparency, and quality standards. Every batch is third-party tested by an accredited American laboratory, and they published the COAs with the exact Mitragynin right on the products page. I check those out, and I'd urge everyone to check those out, because that's what we look for as biohackers. So today we'll get into the promise and perils of Crodham, along with the recent science. I'm Jonathan and Rosent, Brendan. Welcome to Limitless. Jonathan, thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to be here, and, you know, just talk to viewers more about creating them in a crazy time for the plants, and I want to break people down what's really going on. By the way... Tribe Botanics is the exclusive sponsor of this episode. If you pick up some crotum through them, it supports limitless. Thanks to them, there are no annoying ads interrupting this conversation. Listen until the very end, where I explain why this kind of exclusive sponsorship is the highest integrity business model for... doing what we do here. What's the worst Krodham story you've heard? The worst thing that typically hear, you see it over and over, is obviously people just Odeum, but it's not actually from calling, right? Fredden, unfortunately, gets lumped into a big category of drugs. It's unfortunate because I tell people, I am the biggest weakling when it comes to, like, substances, like, marijuana gives me anxiety, freaks me out. I'm the opposite of what you would call, like, who can handle these types of, like, drugs well, right? And Kramm really is the chillest. If you do it responsibly, it is not had it forming, it's not super addicting. It's not something like... They like to lump it in with a crazy opioid. It's not that at all. The people who have only ever had trouble, they usually have trouble with something else. Like, if there's some kind of toxicology report, there's 10 other things in there. But for some reason, it always comes back to, hey, he had cratom in the system. And it's like, that tipped all the blames of that substance. But I would say this is the protest thing from its proof that I see on. Yeah, I remember back in the day looking at PubMed case reports of ODs and some of the deaths that have occurred, and it was like Crodham and a lot of other things that were in the system of the person that passed away. So, yeah, tell us some more about responsible. usage of it. Again, first, avoid what's sold at the gas station, right? Yeah, no, definitely avoid what's sold at the gas station. This is one of the things, and this is something I wanted to assume to drive botanicals, is I want it to be as transparent as possible. If you look up a lot of these companies that sell Kratum, you actually don't know who owns it. You don't know the people behind it. It's kind of like a very wishy-washy thing, and that's why I'm here. I want people to see me, believe in me, right? actually build the wrong. Reputational skin in the game. Yeah, 100%. When it comes to usage, I can tell you that the normal, if you're a responsible person, if you're doing anywhere from, let's just say a ground to buy the feet for them today, there's been plenty of these out there can link them in the people having literally zero side effects from credit. I know a lot of people will say, sometimes we can read your heart rate, sometimes you can do this, but if you're doing it responsibly, you know, not, like, you're not taking 20, 30, 40 grams of powder a day, which is a really hard thing to do, right? Crotum powder is not easy to abuse. It's literally, it's not the greatest pacing thing on Earth, right? It's a little earthy, it's a little bit like a greens powder when you drink it. So if you're really trying to abuse it, it's one of those things that are hard. It's like trying to drink 20 cups of coffee. Right? It's not easy. Now, can it be done? Of course, right? If you're a person that maybe you're not clinically depressed or you have an easy sense of falling into bad habits with being addicted to things, maybe it's not the greatest thing for you. But I think 98% of people, 99 % of people who take crime to definitely do it responsibly and have no negative side effects from it. which I think is a pretty rare thing because a lot of other stuff is out there. Are there some, okay, are there some subtle, okay, so people start using it, and they start getting pretty, I imagine you're pretty regular, you probably use it every day. I use it, I probably use it every other day, and I've been using it for about 10 years. And is there some... Okay, so obviously if your heart starts beating out of your chest, and I encourage people to use things like HRV trackers, which come on, like, most smart watches these days. So there's the obvious things, like, if your breathing becomes fatigued, heart rate. But are there some subtler signs that people need to back off on the dosage? Yeah, I would say that one big sign is, like, if you're taking quite a bit and it doesn't work, right? That's one thing you should be looking out for. Another thing is a lot of, some people who do have an issue with it, I've seen, they literally cannot, cannot make it to the day without it. Right? With very, very high dosages, you can have a little bit of withdrawal if you're taking it every single day. I mean, but I would agree with that's with most things, right? If you're drinking coffee every single day for five years and you stop, it's like, your body was like, whoa, what's going on? It's missing that regularity. coffees, the one thing for me that I actually think there's some, I actually think I have an addiction and a dependency to it. I, I have quit alcohol, nicotine, uh, porn, unhealthy food. I've been able to quit all these things like, easily, but... Coffee is the one thing that when I go off it, I think my soul has just become so intertwined with the caffeine molecule, 1, 237, Trimethyl Xanathane, that when I go off it, I feel not great for a week, and then I'm just like, not myself until I start drinking coffee. Again, so when people are worried about, like, addiction. risk, they need to look at the first thing, or maybe not the first thing they consume, but the thing that they need in the mornings. Yeah, coffee is definitely America's number one, allowed, encouraged addiction, I would say. You know? Yeah, and I'm thankful to Dave Asprey. and, like, who has, like, taken coffee from, okay, so, so actually coffee has an interesting history that, like, 50 years ago, it was kind of just, like, working-class productivity fuel in the morning, and people would drink really garbage coffee, and then Starbucks came along. and they took this product that was a very cheap product, and they turned it into like this luxury status symbol, while at the same time not selling very good coffee. And then the biohackers came along about 15 years ago and said, this is actually, this can actually be a pretty... good thing to empower your health. So, yeah, I'm, like, happy with the trajectory that things are, that things are on. Okay, you told me, so I asked you the question, what's the worst Krodom story? So tell us some good stories about Krodom, either your own or from your customer base, and a little bit more of what the benefits and effects are for people who might be unacquainted. Yeah, so crime is one of those things where depending, there's, I don't know this, but I'll break it down for them, depending on the strain type, it has a few different uses, right? So there's typically three veins out there. You have green, which is the most common one you're going to see. You know, you hear this all the time, green manga, reds, and whites. So the most energetic strains are the white ones. They're like, want to walk in for a few hours, get some work done. White is where you're going to go. Green kind of falls in that middle line of like, okay, I want to chill, but also I want to be like a tentative. Maybe I want to have, like, a social infiracum. That doesn't fall good for that. And then there's a ramp, which is like, okay, I work for 10 hours. I just want to, like, vegetate a little bit. I want to relax. That's the most relaxing strain, I'd say, that is out there. But funny story is that... Similar to you, when I was listening to some of your episodes, I come from a coaching background in coaching men's dating. And I help with a ton of shy guys, a ton, right? And part of my coaching, I were literally taking guys out and be like, hey, they want to meet women. Like, how can I do it? I'm terrified. Like, I am stonewalled. I can't do it, make anything happen. And a lot of these guys would lean to alcohol. at first, right? They were like, well, just kind of lowered my inhibitions to do things. It makes it a little easier for me to let loose. And at this point, I was already taking cradom out avidly. I started switching with the type of taking cratom instead of drinking alcohol, and it made them noticeably more social without the negative side effects of being too intoxicated, where you become sloppy, and, you know, you're kind of just, like, overbearing and spitting in a girl's fate. It takes away all that, but it gives you some positive effects of just being a little more active and a little more breaking out of your focal comfort zone. And I've noticed that with dozens of guys that I've actually coached over the years. Yeah, that's actually a pretty good deal. Like, alcohol and men have been a great team in the reproduction department since time. immemorial, but this just comes at, this just comes at immense cost. And something that I always try to emphasize to single guys that might be in my audience or that I'm doing some type of coaching with, is that the very beginning, the early phase of relationship, which starts at that very first interaction. has this outsized effect on how the relationship can go. It has obviously the ultimate effect of if the relationship is going to go anywhere at all, or if it's just going to be a 10-minute conversation that leads nowhere, but it, uh, In long term, because you think about your relationships with women, you might get married, you might end up spending, like, decades together. And the inception of that is actually where you have, like, a whole lot of power to architect a more tranquil future. So if you can not be sloppy on alcohol, if you cannot be... If you cannot have, like, low standards in that, in that moment, if you can maintain a little bit of, like, boldness to keep frame control in those situations, it really can't ROI for, again, decades. So, yeah, I think that's a pretty great application of it. Years ago, I did this deep dive piece of content on biohacking. social anxiety. And so there's the, uh, there's like the obvious things people are going to hear about, which is like, uh, exposure therapy, cold showers, uh, no fab and meditation for, uh, for the guys. Oh, well, meditation is great for anyone struggling with social anxiety. But then in this deep dive article, which I am going to link to below wherever people are watching or listening to us. I named a number, or I named five or six different drugs in there that are pretty good for taking the social anxiety edge off, and the... ideal is to build up enough reference experiences where you're outside of your comfort zone and then something positive happens, that the social anxiety just becomes the past version of you. But there are a lot of people, and not just guys, there's a lot of people out there that for them to... breakthrough that veil for them to break through that glass ceiling that's limiting them from thriving in the all-important human domain of social life and friends and finding love in this crazy world. There's a lot of people out there that probably need a little bit of pharmacological help. And I did, let's say, I named a crotum and phenibute in that article. Are you, and you probably experimented with Fennibute as well. Yeah, I'm, I'll be honored for thought that I'm doing on Fendibu. I just did in, made of hide on the Ogdenoff guy, maybe like one or two times, but it built up tolerance for me so quickly that, like, it just did not work anymore. Yeah, yeah, it does have a steep tolerance curve. That's one that if people are going to use it, they'd want to use it. once or twice a week at the most, because, yeah, tolerance curve, and it is addictive. The thing I liked about Phenibute, this is what I found, and a lot of other people have found this, is that the music becomes a more visceral experience on Phenibute. You'll, like, once upon a time, I was in this little bar in Columbia with a buddy, and a band came on in the bar. And they were playing, like, this really, like, folksy music. Like, imagine, like, South American country music, which is usually not my favorite kind of thing. And I wasn't drinking any alcohol that night, but I'd done Phenibute. And this band came on, and about 10 minutes later, I was like, This is a really good band. Like, these guys are just playing a small hole-in-the-wall bar now, but these guys are going places as a band. And then I realize, oh, that's the phenobute. That's the fenibute that makes me love this. But, okay, let's see, so the other strains, the, so I've done, I used Crotum, it was about a decade ago. And I actually did something stupidly irresponsible, which is that I got it in America, and then I just carried it cavalierly into Europe. And it's very illegal in Europe. So people aren't going to want to do that. I think people are basically out of luck if they're in Europe, and they want to try crotum, right? Yeah, it's funny. I get a lot of people emailing me, and, like, I just look at my website traffic. A lot of people in Europe are interested. But a lot of them, like, they're out of love in their country, like, they have to get in a lewd way, which is not getting anybody, right? I find it funny because it's funny because it's, freedom really is, like, the most still thing out there. Like, like, I don't even bring up a bean anymore because it gives me anxiety. Like, platinum is not gone, you know, it's so relaxing. Yeah, so sorry, Europeans, we're out of luck. But, okay, this was my experience with it. I liked the Reds, particularly, because they would put me in a really chill headspace after work, because as an entrepreneur, especially an entrepreneur, who takes a lot of new tropics, I am really hard charging all day long. And so that means if you're going to work hard, you also need to relax hard. And reds were great. I like that they didn't put me to sleep. I could, like, drink some red, burn some red, as we say. And then I could sit down and read a book for 45 minutes and doze off. Let's see, greens. was, I don't have much to report on those. And then the white strains are more, yeah, they're more motivational, stimulatory. A lot of people find them to be good workout performance enhancers. But they're, okay, they're a little bit like coffee. And coffee is not really a smart drug. It's not really a cognitive enhancer. in the vein that something like paracetam or nicotine might be. But, yeah, I would say that one's, like, good for motivation. And with crotum, there's more of this aesthetic experience that goes into it, because you drink it as a tea. So it's one of those, yeah, it's one of those things where you can, you can, if you're going to use white strains, like, pick out a project that's a worthy challenge for that day, or go have a kick -ass workout. Do you, okay, in your experience, does it compare with any new tropics that you've tried? I'm a pretty similar one, and I think a lot of people would agree with me, could be Baba. But I would say that... For if I think the white, and some of the greens, it could feel a little bit, I don't want to, like, say too much, but a little caffeinated, right? But it's not as, like, it's not so much nervous energy, if I can grab it in a way. And funny, you mentioned the red thing. Red is typically my favorite also. Those are, the best ones are fermented. and the red typically have that rich brown color. Like you said, they're really, really good for relaxing, but it's not like you just pop that, like, you just think that, you know, okay, I'm going to fall asleep. It's not really worth it for. It's kind of just to, like, mellow out and slowly come into, like, a relaxing state. You're not going to just fall asleep on it. Yeah. Okay, let's talk about the fermentation thing. Yeah. That's, that makes it, that can make, is all fermented crotum a bad idea? No, so what really makes the true red, that color is the fermentation process. Crotum, every single screen is the same leaf. It's just that it's picked in different times of its life and its process differently. Mm-hmm. Okay, yeah, it makes sense, there's not like a red tree and a green tree and a white tree there in Bordio. Yep. And, but the, okay, there's the 7-0H, which is the really problematic stuff that should be avoided. Yeah, so that's pretty much fully synthetic, synthetic, and that's coming in basically tablet or pill forms. Funny you bring it up, my business partner, actually. was curious about this recently, because it's been getting headlines all over America. There's a big ban going on on it. Federally, it's not totally implemented yet, but we just wanted to see it, and he tried some for research purposes. Yeah, it's like, basically like cradum times 20. Also, what he reported to me was, it's more of a body, like a body high. Like, you're absolutely very high wouldn't take it. I wouldn't really describe that from Crotum, I would say, is more of a background effect. 70H, I would say, is more of, like, you're baked, you know? People are having a lot of trouble with it now in the States, a lot. Okay, yeah, so that's something to be avoided. Is there, okay. Is there an issue with vendors sneaking in 70H without properly labeling it? Not, so 7OH is only sold as a tablet, right? So it's not like it sneaking into powder or anything like that, but there is a huge discrepancy…
