@sunsethunter: Man, this was so valuable! Thank you so much for this lesson! I'm not even exaggerating, I{'ve learned so much in these 15mins that I have in years. I tend to play the same kinda thing and this is just where I need / want to develop. It has come at a great time as I am bidding on an acoustic guitar right now! I can only stretch to about $100 so fingers crossed :) This was a brilliant lesson, your skill knowledge really shines through here, I am equally as impressed as I am engaged :)

@nickydee: Really good lesson! I think that's honestly, the most helpful one I've seen. Tips for beginners. You do make it look easy though. It's not. For me anyway :) And now I know why I struggle with the strumming so. Great video! Thanks, J

@sleemfit: Thank you so much my friend... I remember I did ask for it,.I'd look into it as soon as I can get a hold of my guitar. Blessings 🙏

@clairemobey: I was speaking to some great South African artists at he cottage club about rythm and you and your footstomp. You are gifted there. Not everyone can do that. There are other techniques of keeping rythm. I wouldn't be able to because my left foot is the injured side. But that being said, I have to find a way of communicating my internal rythm to everyone else playing with me. One guy (Anthony) said he just bought himself a metronome! At 65 after playing rock guitar his whole life! Says he's never played better.

@jasperdick: Two more of my fundamental tips once you have mastered all this... Experiment with alternative tunings: My favourite is DADGAD and I wrote a post ages ago about how to get started with this: You will also notice in the video that my main demonstration song uses TWO capos. The one that is higher up covers 5 strings while the one that is lower down covers all 6 strings. When they are four frets apart like in the video, this gives my C major a lower root note (almost like "Drop C"). I also do this a lot with the capos 2 frets apart to get a deeper root note on D major or D minor (similar to "Drop D" except you don't have to change most other chord shapes at all!).

@clairemobey: Brilliant! I'll be coming back to this over and over!

@clairemobey: And technically, there's no such thing as multitasking. The way you've broken it down into the different levels of consciousness is perfect. Wow.

@clairemobey: Yhoooooo I struggle with the thumb and hand strength. You'd think being double jointed would be a neat trick but it actually hindered me when I learnt classical piano and guitar. I have to work extra hard.
