For an artist, it can be a source of inspiration. and a child might see cloud as a familiar shape. For an engineer, it can be a technology. So here, we are also going to learn it as a technology. Don't worry, let me help you to understand cloud computing with help of an example. Suppose you love taking selfies from your phone. So, instead of storing your photos in gallery of your phone, you store them in Google Drive. So basically Google Drive is a free service from Google that allow you to store your files online and you can access them from anywhere using cloud. Now let us see why is it called a cloud. So imagine you want to draw a picture of how computers and devices are connected on the internet. So instead of drawing each computer, server, and connection line, People use symbols to represent them in a simplified way. One of those symbols is a fluffy cloud shape. So when people talk about cloud computing, they are using this term because they imagine all the complicated stuff happening in the background, like storing data, running programs, and connecting devices, etc. So these all are happening inside that symbolic cloud. Now let us look at the definition of cloud computing. So basically, cloud computing is a technology model that allows individuals and organizations to access and use computer resources. So basically, these computer resources, it can be server, it can be storage, it can be database, etc. And you can access these resources over the internet. So instead of maintaining physical hardware and software, user rent resources from cloud service provider. That means, user rant these resources from cloud service provider. Now let us see what exactly cloud service provider is. So now let us see cloud service provider with help of an example. Imagine you want to go on a trip. So instead of buying and maintaining your own car, you can use a car sharing service. So, a car sharing service will provide you the vehicle whenever you need it, and you have to pay only for the time you use. So here, car sharing service is like a cloud service provider, which will provide you the computing resources on demand. So basically cloud service provider is like a store that keeps all your computing resources such as server, storage, database, safe and let people use these resources from anywhere they want on the basis of some rent. Now let us look at the definition of cloud service provider. So basically, cloud service provider is a company or organization that offers various cloud computing services and solutions to business or individuals. So these services are delivered to you over the internet, and it can include infrastructure, platform, software, and other resources. They will provide you service on two basis. The first one is pay as you go, in which you have to pay on the basis of you use. and second one is the subscription one, in which there is a fixed cost for fixed duration.
