As for the topic of discussion, the definition of cheating will vary from one person to another. But then, in a broad Sense cheating is trying to play smart on another person and I think that's why having sort of a manual that guides your relationship matters so we can easily know when the next person is trying to play smart on another. Like, A woman considers it cheating with her man to value or hug another woman. Women are not so small hearted if they trust someone more than themselves if they make someone their partner.

@princessbusayo: I watched a clip last night on YouTube, the wife would all the time pray and denied her husband of meals and even sex. Then this man started eating food prepared by his secretary at work, the wife got angry and said he was cheating on her. I would say, in that context, it isn't cheating. Just like what you said, a lady would conclude on cheating just because her boyfriend or man hugs or hold hands with another lady, if their relationship has been defined right from time and there is trust, no one would think of cheating just by mere hugging or holding hands with the opposite gender. It only becomes cheating when one is found having an affairs with the other person when he or she is in a relationship already and that could depend on how the relationship has been with them. For some, they cheat because their partners do not satisfy them, but does that even give an excuse to cheat? It's all about communication here. In all, cheating is bad and one shouldn't be found engaging in that once you love your partner.

I always go for forgiveness in any reality, but at the same time a situation like this hasn't happened to me, at least not in a real relationship. Although nothing is everlasting, I faithfully believe that it all boils down to finding the right person to spend the rest of your life with, and then working very hard on the relationship... @beckyroyal: Cheating in a relationship simply means having a sexual affair with someone else other than your chosen partner or spouse. So if a guy hugs a lady friend, it isn't considered cheating. I think that guys girlfriend has insecurity issues which needs to be dealt with pronto before marriage. I believe in a relationship, boundaries need to be set in place to ensure that complaints don't come up later. What I mean is if a guy is in a committed relationship, he needs to respect his chosen partner by limiting his interactions with the opposite gender.... the same goes for the female partner. I believe doing so would show respect for each other and also serve as a warning sign to others who might have interest in being in a relationship with your partner. Let me use you @fashtioluwa for example, you are a fine guy and I'm certain that you get hints from ladies who want to be in your life. If you go ahead to accommodate such ladies in the name of "being friends" , you give them hope that they can displace your partner to be with you but setting clear boundaries would make them understand that this guy is not for me. So as a guy or lady in a committed relationship, be committed to your partner. Let there be no Lacuna in the relationship where doubt can dwell. Value the person you chose and never ever compare your partner with another's partner or feel regret that you did not choose so so and so instead. @oluwa-tosin: In my opinion, cheating in a relationship means having sexual intercourse with another lady who's not your girlfriend or wife, as for your question can we forgive our partner if he cheats then to me no, for example, if you spouse cheats on you and you forgive him or she then doesn't think he or she won't repeat it because they will be like my girlfriend or boyfriend will forgive me after all I once did it and they forgive me. And I still don't get it why will you be in a relationship and yet you will still be cheating on your spouse, it's crazy.

@itz.inno: i guess cheating has different meaning per individual. whatever your definition of cheating is, you have to discuss this with your partner. discuss what you consider cheating and which is not. when that happens to me, i will end the relationship and i expect the same treatment if ever i commit the same. i can forgive but i find it hard to forget and that will hinder the relationship. anyways, nice topic. btw, engaging in sex with a paid worker is considered not cheating by most japanese?
