Hello everyone, I want to show you a rapid game I played against a Grandmaster in an invitational tournament. It was a knockout tournament. Best of four games, they were mostly titled players, but this was the only Grandmaster in the field. His name is Dussan Popovich from Serbia. Let's get right into the game. So I played 1C4. and play G6. This was the period of time where I favored the English and against the King's Indian setup I favored the Bodvnik system because I believed that like it was very rock solid and I had minimal risk for the reward. So the game continued. with him playing on the queen side trying to create some tension over here while I focused on trying to generate play on the king's side after F4. I like the setup because like my plan is very simple. I'm going F5, I'm going G4, I'm going Bishop H6 if I have the chance and go for a direct attack at the king and like the plan is very simple for whites. So he captured in view of that particular plan. But then after capturing, you notice that he starts having some targets, both on D6, F7, and still I still have the idea of Bishop H6. He goes D5, but this was actually an inaccuracy because of my nest small C times D5, C times D5, and then I can go E5. Knight H5, D4, and then you can see that I have a very strong center while I still have play on the king's side. B4, which I don't think is a good move either because you can see that now the knight gets a very good square on C5. So in this position, now I have both advantage on the king's side and on the queen's side at the same time. He captures, I capture back and now there's a target on D5. while I still have the outpost square on C5, not to mention the B4 pun which is still hanging in this position. He protects the pawn and I jump into the outpost. Bishop C6, Rook C, I just keep on improving my position. I can see that in this position he still has like a very bad knight which has not moved. Meanwhile, While he can claim the bishops here, the bishops are just very bad in this position, meanwhile the knights are dominic in them as you can see. Rook F7, Rookie 8. I have a simple plan here, I'm trying to go E6, since I don't have the Bishop H6 plan anymore. And then I just improve my piece and go for the open fire, putting pressure here. These pieces are just completely out of the game.
