Hey everyone, Callan here, and I figured since I've been in my new location for, I think, three weeks, it might be a month, but I'm pretty sure it's just three weeks at this point, that I should do an update on how things are going. So, for those people who are new to my content, I want to be a little more comprehensive and give a quick summary of... where I came from and how I got here, just so everyone kind of has a context for what's going on, and where I'm planning to go, okay? So, roughly 10 years ago, I was, you know, living a pretty normy lifestyle, you know, up in the Seattle area, I was a producer for, I was making video games. One of the video games I had recently put out was, you know, that I helped put out as a producer, was, the game of the year, like best year in the best game in the world that year, right? So, you know, I was living the dream in a nice place, on a nice lake, you know, with a good girlfriend, planning to have children, making a good amount of money, you know, basically living what people would call the good life. And I just came to realize that everything that our society was built on was basically a lie. and was largely actually evil because it was harming people and it was farming people as animals and it was lying to people, okay? And, you know, making video games certainly, you know, isn't that harmful, but it's not really helping anything. And, you know, paying taxes is... basically actively supporting evil as far as I'm concerned okay and so anyways that's a lot going on there but I basically realized that the way I was living was not right okay and when you realize something's not right you know a lot of people are aware that the world we live in is not right but they continue to operate in it and therefore support it and for me the reaction was, I can't, I can't support this anymore, right? If we want something to be done about this, then we as individuals have to be the ones to do something, okay? And so, my life basically fell apart, right? I lost all my friends, I lost my family, I lost my girlfriend, I lost, you know, but really... I didn't lose my job, I ended up quitting, right? They wanted me to stay, and were offering me six figures to stay, and I'm like, you could offer me a million dollars, and I wouldn't stay, and they're like, what? Right? But that's, that's like how extreme I was, okay? So anyways, I ended up living in my old forerunner for a couple years, traveling around in the Southwest, then I ended up, you know, getting married. to a woman and living in a place for a year and a half or so. Then we broke up and I ended up on a farm, a permaculture farm, where I lived for roughly three years living what I call as a professional garden hermit, okay? Which is where I am now. I'm back to living as professional garden hermit, okay? So when I was doing that, I was living outside four seasons, you know, helping in the garden. I didn't really have much in the way of work because I was new to town, and it, you know, took me quite a while to actually get up just a few clients where I had regular work to make cash. And so I was just making educational videos, like the videos that I make for you guys, and surviving off of the donations that I get from people who watch my videos, because I don't use, I don't monetize anything, I don't post to YouTube or any place like that that I think is evil. right, because I don't want to sign contracts with evil organizations, and so I don't do it, right? Well, I won't say I don't do it. Sometimes, you know, I, you know, for the need of a situation, I will, you know, sign a contract with an organization, you know, I mean sign, like, accept the terms of conditions, you know, like, for example, I use Amazon, right, because of, out of necessity. But anyways, I basically got by just on donations, you know, I don't do affiliate, you know, because I don't want that to affect. Affiliate is where when you, you know, when you hype something up, you're like, oh, I use this product, and then when you click the link in the description, I get like 5 or 10% of the sale of you buying that thing. I don't do that. I could do that. I could be making a huge amount of money doing that probably. Right, but I don't do it because I don't want it to affect what I'm saying, right? I basically think that in order to be as pure as possible in what you're saying, if what you're saying is the most important thing and not making money, then really the only way, or one of the few ways, is to basically just rely on donations from people who feel like the content that you're making is valuable, okay? So anyways, then I went through a period of time a few years where I kind of stopped making videos. And, you know, because I had enough work where I was, you know, I was able to just, you know, I had more money than I needed. I didn't have very much money, right? But I don't have any, hardly any expenses. I don't, I haven't paid rent for close to a decade, right? By the way, I don't have a bank account. I don't have... credit cards, I don't have driver's licenses, I don't have any government ID, I don't have anything like that, okay? And it's been like that for a very long time, okay? And that goes back to me not wanting to contract with organizations, which I feel are evil. So anyways, the period of time... where, you know, I was kind of quiet for a while. You know, there's a lot to talk about there, like, why I went through that period of time where I wasn't really making videos. But also, you know, I really was kind of, not much was going on, and so there wasn't a whole lot to make videos about. And also, I would say it's kind of a period of time where I felt like, well, what's the point, you know? It's like, for example, COVID came out, and obviously, even if it was like a real biological illness which you can catch from people and you'll get sick, it's like, well, there's chlorine dioxide, right? Chlorine dioxide, if you understand how chlorine dioxide works and how to use it, you don't need to be afraid of anything like that, anything. I'm not afraid of Ebola, anything, okay? And it's like, you think... Okay, so we have this solution, and this is just one example of something like this. You have this solution, which if everyone knew about it, we wouldn't have to worry about any of this type of COVID-Cyat bullshit, right? But when you try and tell people about it, you're a crazy person, and... But you're right, right, you're a crazy person, you have the solution to... a huge problem in the world, but you're a crazy person, okay? So anyways, that's just an example of like, ugh, you know, what's the point of even trying, these people are so stupid, you know what I mean? So, I mean, I would see that as a phase that I went through, and I'm kind of in, like, a new phase when it comes to videos, which is, well, I really like making videos. I've really enjoyed... that my, what I've been doing lately has been kind of varied, so it gives me the opportunity to make a lot of videos, but also, I've had this feeling for a long time, but it's kind of like reinforced, this feeling of, you know, even if not a lot of people see my videos or take them the heart or actually change anything in their life, the creator makes sure that the right people see the right videos. That's how I feel about it, okay? So, you know, I don't really need to worry about, you know, am I changing the world or anything like that, you know? Like, if the one person sees the right video at the right time, that can change what they do in their life in a big way that's going to affect a lot of people. You know, maybe not even just them, but a lot of people could change the entire world, okay? So anyways, I just feel less. kind of stressed out about the fact that, you know, because I only post on websites like Odyssey, BitShoot, Noster, Bastion, Brighton, I think that's, oh, and then the high blockchain, I think that's pretty much, and then my website, I think that's pretty much the only places that I post my videos, right? You know, not a lot of exposure there, but, you know, I don't really care, because, you know, you guys should be using those platforms, those platforms were all built. so that you didn't have to use evil YouTube, right? And none of you are, hardly any of you are actually using those platforms. They were built for you, the solutions were made, like chlorine dioxide, the solutions here, but people don't use it. But, you know, that's okay. I'll get over it, and I feel like I'm largely getting over it. Sometimes I'll have little spurts of, like, frustration about it. But anyways, I'm fine. putting my content on those platforms because I think those are good platforms where people should be and you know so anyways back to the life story thing I basically was in that place and I felt like where I felt like I could basically stay there indefinitely and I would be able to meet one of my main goals which is to be a part of community and be a person who is growing a large amount of food for the purpose of ensuring that that community can survive, basically will not starve, when things get really bad, okay? And I think things will get really bad for several reasons. First of all, things will get bad in order to control the population, and I think we still probably have another decade or decade and a half. of that type of stuff going on and I'll talk more about that in future videos but also I think a extremely strong cataclysm is imminent okay within two decades we will have something which will be world changing and if I'm in a place where I think I am I'm in the Rocky Mountains and I was before also in the Rocky Mountains which I think is one of the safest places to be that I will have built up my food growing situation enough so that everyone around me will have plenty of food, right? That's like one of my major life goals, okay? One would be making videos and being helpful to all of you, and more in my personal, local life, it's, I want to make sure everyone has food, right? I'm not growing food to sell it, I might, if I have a whole bunch of food, I might, and an opportunity arises to sell that food. not during an emergency, then I will probably sell it, but during an emergency, I want to make sure everyone around me has food, and that's the main reason. Okay, so anyways, where I was was basically a perfect situation for that, and I was getting involved with the farming community, even being like that one of the main cleaners and managers of a local ditch, which... you know, I basically clean by myself two miles of ditch, which is something that takes like 60 people a whole day to do, right? So imagine if it takes 60 people a whole day to do, and I have to do the whole thing by myself. You know, it's a lot of work, it's a lot to do, but it also got me into that community of, you know, farmers and stuff like that. But I realized that where I was, if things got bad, because of the population, the people in that area, that everyone who looks like me would have everything taken from them and may not even survive, okay? And so putting all this effort into building what I was trying to build seemed like, well, I'm just wasting my time here. And I had that feeling for a little while. But it just got to the point where I'm like, I just can't waste my time here, you know. So around that time, and, you know, this is kind of a, also I talked about how, you know, Providence, how it feels like the creator puts the right things in front of your face at the right time. Someone contacted me and basically said, hey, I just started watching your videos. I saw your video about Garden Hermiting. You're welcome to come Garden Herman on our property. and it was in a location where I'd always wanted to go, and it was basically like, when I started researching this area, I'm like, wow, this is like the perfect place, you know what I mean? So, anyways, it just ended up working out that a friend of mine was, you know, in the area, we went on a camping trip, and we were nearby, the Garment Hermitian Place, when we were on that camping trip, and I just decided, well, Let's just move, okay? And that was kind of, it was kind of stressful because I'd gotten so comfortable there and the other place. Like, there was no concern that I would not have enough money because there were more people who wanted me to work for them than I wanted to do, you know what I mean? And now I'm going to a place where it's a new town, no one knows me. It takes a while to get established, and so back to a situation where I'm living out of pretty much only what I can carry on my backpack and on my bike. and no jobs, no local jobs, and really back to just relying on donations from people who watch my videos, which I did for three years, but I had taken a couple of breaks, you know, years off from relying completely on that, and so it was a little bit stressful for me. But anyways, I figured it was such a good opportunity, and the signs are so clear that... I was being supported in that move, like, that it was the right thing to be doing at that time. That, you know, I just kind of took the leap of faith and did it. And now that I'm here, you know, everything is going really awesome, okay? So the people that I'm, whose property am staying on, they already feel like family, and they already feel like family, you know, pretty much right away. I would say I've been invited in for dinner. more days than not that I've been here, and she is one of the best cooks that I've ever experienced, right? Every meal is like Thanksgiving. So that's like one of the greatest joys of my life right now is like, oh man, I can't wait for the next time. Also, they've been super helpful and supportive of me, for example, putting up this structure, okay? So, most of the stuff that you see here, you know, was donated, like the pallets and the wood is to scrapwood that's laying on the project, on the property. You know, I bought the insulation, I bought some of the plastic sheeting, I bought the billboard vinyl, you know, there's a few other things that I bought, but most of it is just, you know, stuff that came free to me, you know, and like, you know, the guy who was on this property, he allowed me to use his screws and all of his tools, like all of his carpentry tools, which are, you know, there's a lot of different things that I have available to me, all the scrap, all that type of stuff, so anyways, they've been extremely supportive of me. You know, also they dug this hole with their tractor, which took a lot of work and a lot of diesel, which is expensive, okay? So, very supportive of me getting established here, okay? So, you know, that's something that I'm really grateful for, and it's really freaking awesome, okay? So anyways, then the local town where I am, it's like a fairly small population. There's, you know, it's basically a farming culture. Everyone looks pretty much like me. You know, I used to think that that didn't matter, but after living a place that's not like that, I mean, it's hard to say that it doesn't matter. You know, there is something about people who look like me, who are more civil, you know. I don't want to say more than that, but you get what I'm saying. I've made videos about this in the past. And so basically, you can go down, you can bike down the street, and... just drive past people's yards, and they have expensive bicycles sitting in their yard right next to the sidewalk all the time, constantly, and no one is concerned that anyone's going to take it, right? Like, if you look in the paper, the newspaper, the local newspaper, there's little sections where they list out all the ambulance calls, all the... traffic stops, all the tickets that were signed, not traffic stops, but tickets that were, you know, basically traffic tickets that were issued, all arrests, they list all of that stuff, and it does all of that stuff, and multiple other things that I didn't even mention, they don't even take up a single page, right? Because there's just nothing like that going on. It's really quiet and really peaceful and really civil. Basically, I feel like if I had tried to imagine a perfect town, this would basically be that place. So I feel really blessed in that as well. And also, I've only gotten to know a few people, but the people that I have gotten to know, you know, they all seem really good people, and even they, after having not knowing me very long, have offered to support me in various ways. Another thing I'll mention about the town that I'm in, which I think is true of a lot of towns like this, is that when you go around town and go into the shops and the various stores, it's mostly being ran by older people. A lot of these people are actually well beyond retirement age. And it's kind of scary because, you know, young people grow up here. and then they think that, you know, it would be better to go to another place, and then they never really come back. You know, they go away from college, and they get into the city type of life or whatever, and, you know, the idea of coming back and just helping their parents on their farm doesn't sound glamorous to them. So basically, towns like this still exist, but they may not exist for a lot longer. So one nice thing about that is, for me, it gives me a lot of opportunities to find work. if I was willing to become an employee, which means when you become a employee, you're becoming a member of an Oregon State, because all businesses generally are incorporated into the government, which means that when you're joining, when you're becoming an employee of a company, then you are joining the government, which I'm not willing to do. I'm not willing to sign a W-2 contract with the government, and I'm not willing to do any of that type of stuff. Really, there's everywhere in town, you can go in, you could pretty much just pick wherever you want to work and walk in and say, hey, I'd like to work here, and they'll be like, oh, good, thank you. But, you know, because most of them probably wouldn't allow me to just work as a private contractor, or they'd want me to become an employee. I can't, I wouldn't actually be able to work there. But anyways, once I get this structure up and in a situation where I feel like I can survive the winter, I am going to start going out there and, you know, kind of testing the waters and seeing who would be able to bring me on as a private contractor, because like I said, there's lots of cool places in town that, you know, I would be happy to work at. So we'll see how that goes. So to change topics a little bit, I want to just give an update on how the dugout shelter is going. Of course, you guys have been getting a lot of updates about that. And I've actually been surprised about how excited everyone is about watching this thing go up. So, I mean, I felt like I had described what it was going to be, and a lot of people are like, yeah, that sounds like it'll be good. even the people who I live with, but then when I started putting it, pretty much exactly how I had designed it and described it to everyone. Everyone's like, I think everyone had imagined something different. Each person imagined something quite different. and it wasn't really quite what they had imagined, but everyone seems to be pretty happy with it and to think that it's going to work out. So, anyways, it's been really fun, and it's also been kind of an interactive thing with the community, because along the way, I've been asking for people's feedback, and people have had lots of good ideas. Some of them I have incorporated into what I'm doing. Some of them I have not, simply, some of them, because I'm just too lazy to do that. Some of them are, because... they're kind of assuming I have money, which I don't. So they're like, okay, you should paint the OSB. It's like, I should paint the OSB, but I can't, then I can't…
