Hey everyone, Cowan here, and in this video, I'm going to show you the biggest turnip I have ever grown, okay? So I've been growing these things for a couple of years now, not because I like them, because I actually don't really like the taste of turnips, but because turnips make an excellent survival food, because you can plant them, you can leave them in the ground, even through the winter, and you can eat them if you don't have any other food, okay? Like I said, I don't really like the taste of them, but if you need to stay alive, it's excellent for that. Also, if you have livestock that you need to keep alive, you can feed them these as well, okay? So what I'm going to do today is I'm going to chop this up into cubes and basically cook it, pressure cook it. in water with salt, and that's pretty much, yeah, you know, I'm a pretty basic person when it comes to food at this point in my life. I used to be a cook, right? So if I had a kitchen with lots of spices, I'd probably do a whole lot of other stuff. But these days, I just keep it simple, okay? So if you're going to eat a turnip raw, I want to recommend that when you, if you cut this in half, you'll see that there's a thin little layer of the skin. which, and then on the inside of that layer, it's basically just all white inside. I recommend peeling off that skin because that's where the strongest turnipy taste, which people generally don't like, is, okay? And then you can just eat the inside raw, okay? It's still got a little bit of that taste to it, but it's not quite as bad. Next year, I'm actually, I think these are called purple top turnips. Next year, I'm going to grow... I don't remember the name of them, but it's like a Japanese white turnip, which is designed to be, or designed, you know, genetically bred to be good eating raw, so it actually tastes really good raw. So, anyways, we'll see how that goes. So quick video, I just want to show you this awesome turnip. Okay, see you later.
