Hey everyone, Cowan here, and on this freezing morning in the Colorado Mountains, I'm going to talk to you about how I charge my various electrical devices with this 15-watt foldable solar panel, which fits into my backpack, okay? So, first of all, I'm going to talk about the various devices that I use at this point. I used to have quite a few. but now it's basically just comes down to my phone, which I'm recording on right now, and then I have an extra one, so I have two de-googled phones that I swap off, okay, so when one battery is low, I switch the other one, and I have two of them also because these are where I have my offline maps, which I'm very dependent on, and so if one of my phone breaks, then I still have my other one. so that I can actually get around. And also then I'll still be able to make videos and all that kind of stuff, get in contact with people. So it's good to have some redundancy when it comes to your phone. And then the other device I have is this headlamp, which is USBC chargeable, which I just keep around my neck here, okay? And I also have coming a taser device, a handheld taser device, which I can keep on a holster on my belt. which is also USB chargeable, okay? And that will be not really to tase people or animals, but to make that loud noise which scares animals away. And there are definitely a lot of bear and moose around here, and actually I'm more worried about the moose than I am about the bear, okay? So having something to make that loud noise is going to be useful. Also, having bear spray will help with all those as well. Okay, so let's look at the actual solar panel. Again, this is Sun Jack. I got this from the Health Ranger store. I think you can get it on Amazon. I had another folding solar panel, which I think was basically just a cheap knockoff of this thing. And I measured how many watts it was charging, and it was like one to two when it was rated at 10 watts. This thing's rated at 15 watts and in full sun, it gets up above 10, okay? So it definitely is doing, and that's pretty normal for a solar panel not to do all the way to what it's rated to. You need like a perfect sun condition. But anyways, this thing charges quickly, and so I would trust this. Though I haven't had it for a super long time, so, you know, I don't know how durable it is, but so far it's been doing good, okay? So on the back here, you have this. mesh pouch with zippers where you can keep stuff. So inside that, I keep this anchor, solar charger, I mean, solar, a battery bank, I think, I think it might be 10,000 amp hours, I can't remember. But the nice thing about this is it has its USBC cord right here, okay? So you can just plug this directly into the solar panel without having to have an extra cable. And you can also, once you disconnect it, you can just plug this into your phone to charge it. So it's a two-way cable. Also, it does have two more slots, the standard USB, and then the USBC, which allows you to actually charge this thing, plug it into the solar panel, have two other cables. You can charge two devices at the same time that you're charging this thing, okay? I'll probably do a video about this thing specifically at some point, but this video is... about this, okay? In here I also keep, this is a little anchor thing, so if I'm, like, in a coffee shop or a library or something, I can charge my stuff. And then I also keep extra cables. I keep a, these are two USBC ones, one's USBC on both sides, and one is USBA and USBC on the other side. That way I can charge my both phones at the same time. And then this is one of the micro, I don't cable, okay. Okay, so in the back here, this is where you plug in, there's the USB 1 or A, I think they call it, and then there's the USB C. Then to actually start charging, all you have to do is open it up, and now the little light on here is on, actually there's no little light, oh, there's a little light. So the light's on, it is getting power, so I'll just show you how I set this up. Okay, so first of all, you need to find a sunny spot, so this is obviously sunny, and ideally something which is going to prop your solar panel up at an angle to face the sun, so you're going to get more energy. And you want to make sure there aren't any plants or grasses here, which are going to come up and shave the sun, okay? So you basically just lean it up like this, and there you go, you're done, this thing's already plugged in, it's already charging, Let's check how many watts at this moment. So it's charging 8 watts right now, right? And this is early morning sun. We've got a few spots that have got shade on it, and it's still charging, okay? Now, if you're going to leave this out all day, then ideally south is going to be this way because the sun's going to go across, right? And you're going to get the best exposure for the longest period of time. And I'm going to actually plug my other phone in to the battery. so that it is also charging. So if the battery, you know, gets enough energy so that it would be full, it's still going to this phone, so I'm not losing that extra. Okay? Another thing is that this can overheat, and your phone can overheat if it's, like, pressed right against the back of this thing. So right now, it's kind of, my phone and this are kind of in this little nook behind, to the side of the rock and behind the panel, but not close enough to be touching it. Okay, so that's pretty much all there is to it. I think you can get this thing on Amazon, though, like I said, I got mine on the Health Ranger store, which is what I will link down below. So if you enjoyed this video or found it useful, then please take the time and actually share it with, you know, someone else who would find it useful, you know. Go to your favorite social media platform and share it there. You know, that'd be extremely helpful to me. I don't use websites like YouTube, X, Facebook. any of those things because I believe that those companies are basically a part of the evil agenda agenda going on on this planet at this moment, but I have no objection with you sharing my videos there. In fact, I would like it if you did, okay? So, anyways, thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys later.
