Hey everyone, Callan here, and in this video I'm going to be putting in a raised bed platform in the back of the dugout shelter so that I'm not sleeping down on the dirt. So to start it off, I put in the support beams, which are just 2x4s, going across connecting at the ends and also into the posts on either side. So next I took a 4x8, 1⁄2 inch thick. piece of plywood and cut it in half and stacked it on top of each other. So this is basically an inch thick now, and it feels super solid. I had to cut it to fit the board. I can see there's a little knots there. And I also had to cut the top piece, so I was able to get the bottom one in because I could dip it down below. It's hard to get it. between this post and also pass these two by 12s because they poke out farther. And it was hard just to get the first one in. And I wasn't able to get the second one in because there was no longer any space below the boards to, or the, you know, the support post or beams to actually get it angled in and put in. So I had to cut it across here. But that won't matter because it's got the support of another board right below it. So next I'm just going to put the holes and on the ceiling to give it a little bit of cushion and extra warmth. And there it is with the insulation layers applied. I just used staples to tack it down to the wood. And there it is with the rest of my bedding. So this is my military bivvy with my sleeping bag inside. sleeping bag, and I have a blow-up pillow, camping pillow, and I also use my bag of oats as an extra prop for when I'm in here reading or watching something. So that's my bed, fairly simple, inexpensive, gets me off of the dusty ground, and you can see it gives me lots of space to store extra things, like my three months of oats and those buckets down there in my backpack. over there and actually there's plenty of space for a lot more things so anyways that's my bed thanks for watching and I'll see you guys later
