Hey everyone, Callan here, and in this video, I'm just going to give you an update on kind of what's going on in my life. So, in previous recent videos, I've talked about how I'm keeping my life fairly private these days, and I'm going to continue to do that, but I think there are some details I'm willing to share, which, you know, people have basically been asking about, and so I will share as much as I feel comfortable with. And then there's a couple other things. that I want to talk about, and then that's it. I mean, this is basically, like, Callan's diary, except I'm, you know, it's not, it's not private, so anyways, the first thing would be shelter situation. So, Callan, you lived outside for three years, and then you disappeared for a year, and now you won't tell us what's going on. So... Basically, like the big question is, are you still living outside? So, no, most of the time I am sleeping indoors, because my situation where I am, I've gotten, I'm basically building connections in real life with people in the community and doing that through working with them, you know, going and doing work for them on their properties. And... Through that, you know, it's basically building relationships. And so at this point, there are at least three people, if not more, I'm pretty sure it's like four or five, who, if I wanted to go live on their property, they'd be like, yeah. And at least three have actually offered that, like, without me even asking for that, right? And some of these places are like, you know, I'd be outside. Some of these places are like you'd be living in the house, and some of these places are like things in between that, and I'm in a things in between that type situation. So, I mean, basically, I feel like three years living outside four seasons, you know, where it gets pretty darn cold and pretty darn hot. I feel like I've proven to myself that that's something that I can do. And that's really important to me because I think that at a certain point in humanity's near future, that being able to do that may be necessary. And so if it's something that you're already comfortable doing, like I am, then when that time comes around, I'm not going to have to psychologically deal with that whole getting acquainted with being forced to live outside. I'll be able to actually instead deal with the actual problem that's going on rather than some, you know, small problem which everyone will have, but they, you know, it would be better if they were looking at the bigger problems rather than having to deal with I'm cold, how do I stay warm, you know, that type of stuff. So anyways, I feel like I have that badge now, you know, I can live outside. In fact, I like living outside, and often I am nostalgic about it, and often I will go outside and sleep, even in the cold is like this winter, I went out inside and slept, to test like gear and stuff like that, right? So it's not like it's not something I'm doing. And then, for me, it's, in my mind, I'm still in that really more basic, extreme minimalist mindset. You know, I basically, I'm only using things day to day. not exclusively, but I don't need to use any of the other things, you know, like a, you know, like a steam cooker that you would need to have on a stove. You know, I will use something like that, but in my backpack, I have a stove, which, you know, I can basically do all the same steps, just not as conveniently, right? So basically... I'm mostly using just things out of my backpack, like the only clothes I wear are the clothes that I have listed on my gear page, and that's what I wear for all situations. Four Seasons, working, formal situations, you can make it all work with when I'm, you know, with those clothes. And so basically, I still limit myself to all that type of stuff. You know, in my mind, I'm still living out of my backpack, even though there are other, some other things around me. which cannot be around me before because I was not indoors, right? So, anyways, that's the general situation. So another really common question, which I wouldn't have expected to be, you know, that common of a question, was, what are you eating nowadays? So I guess I talk about food quite a bit and health and stuff like that. I guess, so that part doesn't surprise me, but I guess I didn't think people were that. I didn't think most people who followed my videos were there for that. So maybe I'm wrong, maybe a lot of them are. So anyways, my food situation is, it depends on, well, basically I break it down in my mind in a certain way. So I'm going to walk you through how I see it. So in my mind, I'm always thinking about what is the most basic thing, the least hassle, which I'll be able to get anywhere, right? and that is for when I'm in, if I ever need to be in a, I'm living out of my backpack outside again, right, type situation, and a situation where I don't even have any friends or I have no network of any kind, and I'm in a new place, right? Because moving will probably be necessary. Okay, so you may have to do this multiple times. So anyways, the food for that situation is basically oats, rolled oats, and ideally the quick oats. And I would say almost needs to be organic, but, you know, if you're really desperate, then, you know, and that's all they have is non-organic oats, then you can get those. But non-organic oats are pretty bad, okay? Organic oats are pretty good. right? For the most part, there are some small downsides to oats, but they're not really that big of a deal, like phytates and things like that, which bind to minerals, so you're going to get less minerals in your food, because it's being bound by phytates and not being absorbed by your body, okay? So that's like one downside of oatmeal. But the upsides are, it's got a pretty good nutrient profile, it gives you lots of energy, it doesn't need to be cooked. In fact, you can just eat it dry, especially if it's the quick oats, right? But, you know, normally you would soak it in water, so all you need is something to contain water, and then add oats to it and leave it for a little while, you know. Some people like to do it overnight, but it really doesn't take that long. So, and you can pretty much find oats in any tiny little country store in any little town that you go to. Like, that's like one of the main ingredients. which will almost always be there. Okay, so oats is like the foundation. Okay, and you can store a lot of oats, and it's really inexpensive, really inexpensive. Like, buy big, I buy, like, big seven gallon buckets of it at a time. And, you know, on Amazon, you can get, like, 20-pound bags, right? Of organic, remember, quick cooking oats, okay? So you can just throw a huge amount of that in a bag, and I'm working on a bike packing bike right now, which I'll talk about later, and I can just grab, you know, a couple of giant bags, stuff it in the pannears on the bike, that's probably a couple months worth of food, right? If I stuff both of those panneers full of oatmeal, I mean, it's probably more than two months of food, okay? And then I can go anywhere I want, pretty much. right, places cars can't go, you know, I can get out. So, and then I just need to find water and really, well, I mean, you would have to drink, but you don't have to have it for the oats. Anyways, oats, foundation, and I still pretty much eat oats every single day. So then there's the next level. which would be, okay, you're basically eating as simply as possible for as cheaply as possible, but you're trying to optimize the health and getting some variety so that you don't go insane, right? So for that, basically I start the day on oats, right, and I will add my Wizards Brew powder mix, and I had lots of variations on that. Right now, it's basically... Coconut, all these are organic. Coconut milk, powder, pea protein, cacao, and stevia. So that's basically like a drink mix. You can just put that in water and drink in it and it's like hot cocoa, okay? And it's got lots of energy in it from fats, right from the coconut. or I can add it to my oats to make my oats taste better and to have a better nutrient profile as well, okay? So if I'm backpacking, I would be carrying that also with the oats ideally, okay? But of course I'm not going to be able to get all those things at a random store up in the mountains somewhere. So anyways, so the morning is basically oats with that mix, then for lunch, you know, I'll go, then I will go and I'll work three hours and, you know, I'll talk about this in a later video, but basically I always limit my paid work every day to three hours just because I want to live a life where I'm not working all the time. I just want work to be something a little part of my day, and then I go and do the things I want to do. So, when I get done with work, I will eat beans, okay, or some kind of lentil, like a protein-based, that type of thing. right? And that's basically, I'm coming home, I've just been doing manual labor for three hours, and I'm probably a little bit tired and probably hungry, okay? And, you know, my body needs to repair from what it just did, okay? So now I'm eating a huge amount of protein, right, and I eat lots. And it's not necessarily a good thing, but I'm someone who can eat lots and who likes to eat lots. And really, I'm still skinny, so it's like I have to eat lots, otherwise I'd be even skinnier, right? So anyways, beans with salt, and that's basically it, I don't add anything else to it, usually. And then for dinner, I will just have white rice. Okay, so basically ending the day with another starch, right, not right before bed, I mean, I don't, I try and put like three hours between a meal and going to bed, because otherwise it affects your sleep. But, you know, if you're getting this big dose of... like white rice and I add coconut oil to it because mixing the oil with the rice makes it so that the carbohydrates and sugars from the rice are released less quickly and also so you know less of it lasts longer and also you get less of a spike in your insulin and the coconut oil also gives you another source of energy for you to go into your sleep and repair situation okay so I think that's a really good especially if you're someone who is you know, would like, would prefer to weigh more than you do like I have for basically my whole life. Eating a lot of rice before bed, though not right before bed, will help you with keeping weight on, okay? Putting large carbs before bed that really slowly is a way to gain a lot of weight, okay? Anyway, so that's kind of like middle-the -road type situation, and then... Like the Primo situation, which I'm kind of like living in right now is when I work for people, I'm not, you know, always doing it for money. A lot of time I'm actually just trading for whatever that person can provide, okay? And so sometimes what that person can provide is that they can drive into town and go to a store and get me dates and cashews, okay? So in the past, I've talked a lot about how dates and peanut butter, but I think peanut butter is not really the best health-wise to be eating, so I'm doing dates and cashews, okay? That's another really simple food that I can, basically, with those two things, I could live pretty, for a pretty long time without ever needing anything else. And it doesn't need to be cooked, you could basically be eaten instantly, and it's delicious. and, you know, especially if you add salt to the cashews, then it's just like, it's like a perfect combination. Anyway, so that's one thing that I can get. Another, like another client might be a farm, right? And they might have animals that produce milk and eggs and things like that. So currently, I am in that situation, and, you know, I talk about being vegan, and this is a big topic. I shouldn't really broach right now, but... My conclusion has been that now, that if we want to survive, the difficult times that will be coming, that while it's not ideal, the benefits of just vegetarian food coming from animals, not eating their meat, eggs and milk, you... That makes, trying to grow your own food, like as a vegan, like, it is difficult. You need a lot of space, and you need a lot of work, okay? Having a few, you know, milk goats or something, you know, it can, that's a lot of work, too, but the amount of, like, nutrients, like, this is nutrients meant for a newborn baby who has to... multiply its size in a fairly short period of time. There's a lot of nutrients in there, okay? There's also some downsize to that because, you know, you're an adult and you're not in a growing mode, and so drinking something that has all the signals of grow really big may not be a good adult situation, but if you're in a survival situation, you're not really going to be worried about that very much, okay? And then eggs, eggs are like, if you, When a chicken, a chick, hecks out of an egg and is walking around, doing one chirp chirp, and pecking the things, and full of energy, has all the things that needs, all of that is already in the egg. Right? And so every egg, one egg that you eat is a huge amount of nutrients and a huge amount of life energy. Okay. So while I... Again, this is, shouldn't broach this topic yet. While I would say it is preferable that we did not need to form this sort of co-dependent situation with animals in which they probably getting the bad deal most of the time. It's still necessary, I feel like, at this point in time. Okay, so anyways, that's where I sit with the whole vegan thing. Now the meat thing, like if I was going to die, then I might kill an animal and eat it. I would prefer not to, but I would prefer not to die more. Also, at this point, I basically take the, kind of the Buddhist stance on this. People think Buddha was a vegetarian, he didn't eat meat, but actually someone early in the whole thing, someone's like, hey, we should make this vegetarian. We shouldn't be eating things. And he's like, no, I'm not going to do that. That's not a rule in Buddhism, okay? So basically, the rule is you can't go and kill an animal. You can't have someone kill an animal on your behalf. If you learn that someone killed an animal so that they could give it to you, then you have to reject it. But if someone is just offering you food, that has animal in it, then... Buddha is like, you should eat that. And I also think that's going to be necessary in a post-catecholism world, because, first of all, you're going to turn down food, which you may need to survive, and you're sabotaging your relationship with this person, right? Someone offered you something, which you need, and you turn them down. because you're judging them, right? That's how they'll see it, right? So that's going to sabotage that relationship, and you don't want to do that, okay, because you're going to need your relationships with people to be healthy. So if someone off, you know, invites me over to dinner and it's, you know, beef, you know, I'm going to eat it. That's where I'm at with that right now, though, currently I'm kind of like, but I'm not going to... You know, I'm basically going to go Buddhist style, I think. That's how I feel about it. So that's the whole food situation, pretty much, you know, basically, and also the place where I get the milk, you know, it's like raw that day milk most of the time. And like a quart of milk is, that's a whole meal, you know? That could be a whole day's food, honestly, if you're not like super active. And they also are getting into other things like making yogurt and cheese and kaffir, right? So those are other things that I trade work on that farm for. Okay, so I guess there's one more part to the food situation, which is, you know, I do spend a lot, most of my time, and this gets into the next topic, which is what I do for work. Basically, all of my work, almost all of it is going towards either working in my own food garden or working in other people's food gardens, though some of the gardens are not food gardens. Though, you know, as I have influence in these places, you know, I'm slowly trying to push towards, let's grow actual food here, right? That type of situation, so. So, I mean, long term, I think that's basically going to be the food source for me, will be what I can grow and trade for in the community that I'm in, and also being a part of making sure that other places in my community are producing things that I don't produce, so that I can trade and get those things, right? So anyways, I just, I basically walk to... anywhere that I work, or I can take my solar electric bike, and I work for three hours doing garden-y-type things, or farm-y-type things, and then, you know, I have a certain amount that I, you know, a lot of people are in different states of mind, like, some people just want to pay you cash, and they don't want to come up with any... you know, special trade arrangements or that kind of thing. And I have a way of dealing with that because there's other people who are like, we need cash for this purpose. And so if you give us that cash, then we will get whatever you want through, you know, for that same amount through other means, right? So, you know, find situations like that because, you know, I'm thinking of a situation in the future where I'm not allowed to use whatever the... official currency of the area I'm in is because that currency will be based on basically getting permission to do that by being a good little citizen. So I prefer not to, you know, subject myself to that, and so, you know, I will not be able to use whatever the official thing is, right? And I probably won't even be able to use the internet. But that's okay because, you know, I'd rather live this way instead. So anyways, the main things that I am focusing on growing right now are turnips, carrots, and beets, sun chokes, a lot of root vegetables, because these things can be stored, stay in the ground, even over a winter, some of these, and you can eat them at any time. Okay, so it's a pretty good way and you can even harvest them and store them in even more ideal situations or process them and can them or pickle them these types of things and so it's a good source of food and again my point of view is I want to make sure that whatever community I have that I am in that they never reach a situation where a lot of people don't have enough food and therefore are now getting violent and causing me and the people I care about problems, okay? So ideally, I live in a community where even if the stores all shut down for a few months, that there's enough food to go around, okay? And so my focus is in finding crops that I can grow, which will help support that. So I also grow corn and... butternut squash, okay, and beans, but ideal I'd be growing beans, but they don't seem to do very good here because of a, you know, it's just an environmental situation that they don't like, so. Okay, so we're about three topics in, and we've got, I think, three times that much, so I better keep going a little bit faster here, so anyways, BPC 5157 is a peptide which I've known about for a long time, but have not actually gotten around to purchasing and trying. And I did that recently, so I want to give you a quick little summary of the results there. I might do a longer video on this, but basically it's a peptide, which is a peptide which is created in your intestines naturally, so it's not like some artificial thing. And then... What it does is it makes you, people call it like the Wolverine, you know how the Wolverine drug or Wolverine peptide or something like that, you know, basically you know how Wolverine the X-Men can get injured and then he heals really quickly. That's basically what this is like, okay? It's not like that quickly, because that's really quick. But, you know, it's much faster and it will do, it will heal things which your body failed to heal and gave up on healing. you know, could be decades…
