Un Velero Llamado Libertad ⛵🎶 - José Luis Perales (Cover) [SPA/ENG]

Una de esas canciones que me trae bonitos recuerdos es «Un velero llamado libertad» de José Luis Perales. Cuando estaba niño mi tía Sonia nos llevaba de viaje con ella, pienso que ella fue una de mis influencias en la música. Ella tenía un buen gusto y disfrutábamos escuchar y cantar las canciones de Perales. Tuvimos la oportunidad de viajar varias veces a Mérida, Valera, Barquisimeto, Carora, Ciudad Bolívar y Puerto Ordaz. Esos viajes estaban cargados de anécdotas. Como por ejemplo, en un viaje al Parque La Llovizna, apenas teníamos unos minutos y nos cayó una lluvia torrencial. Cosa que disfrutamos mucho, y que dejó una bonita huella en nuestros recuerdos. En otra oportunidad perdí mi cédula de identidad en Mérida, y de retorno tuve que cantarles el Himno Nacional a los funcionarios de la Guardia Nacional. Escuchar estas canciones me conectan con esas experiencias y me hacen sacar una sonrisa.

One of those songs that brings back beautiful memories is "Un velero llamado Libertad" by José Luis Perales. When I was a child my aunt Sonia took us on trips with her, I think she was one of my influences in music. She had good taste and we enjoyed listening to and singing Perales' songs. We had the opportunity to travel several times to Mérida, Valera, Barquisimeto, Carora, Ciudad Bolívar, and Puerto Ordaz. Those trips were loaded with anecdotes. For example, on a trip to Parque La Llovizna, we barely had a few minutes and torrential rain fell on us. Something that we enjoyed very much, and that left a beautiful mark on our memories. On another occasion, I lost my identity card in Mérida, and on my way back I had to sing the National Anthem to the officers of the National Guard. Listening to these songs connects me with those experiences and makes me smile.

I feel empathy for this romantic ballad. This was inspired by a movie the author was watching. I have had the opportunity to get on both boats, motorboats, and sailboats, and the experience is wonderful, an amalgamation between the breeze and the waves is incredibly relaxing, it's like feeling free. The sea offers incredible adventures, it is unpredictable. I have seen how sailors face big waves. This is similar to the challenges of life, no matter how difficult it is to navigate, there will always be a safe harbor. Those seagulls and contrails in the sea reflect hope.
