He vuelto para dejarles mi segundo cover de la banda Green Day. Hace solo algunos días publiqué el primero y en esta oportunidad decidí hacer el cover del tema Basket Case perteneciente al mismo álbum Dookie.

Este tema es por lejos el más conocido de este álbum junto al tema "When I come around" y desde ahora me comprometo con ustedes en traerles en un futuro no muy lejano un cover de este tema también.

Basket Case fue una canción muy popular en la década de los 90, tiene un ritmo muy contagioso, característico de la banda, fue también uno de esos temas con que aprendí a tocar la guitarra.

Hello friends of HIVE, as promised!
I'm back to leave you my second cover of the band Green Day. Just a few days ago I published the first one and this time I decided to cover the song Basket Case from the same album Dookie.

This song is by far the best known of this album along with the song "When I come around" and from now on I promise to bring you in the not too distant future a cover of this song as well.

Basket Case was a very popular song in the 90's, it has a very infectious rhythm, characteristic of the band, it was also one of those songs with which I learned to play the guitar.

Cuando me dispuse a tocarlo pude notar que el riff principal, si bien es sencillo, en lo que se refiere a los acordes, ya que siguen siendo acordes de quinta, me constó en un principio hacerlo correctamente. Su dificultad radica en la mano que lleva la púa. Para reproducir correctamente este sonido es necesario golpear las cuerdas siempre "púa abajo" y se hace complejo porque el ritmo es bastante rápido y con acentos que no se pueden ignorar puesto que de hacerlo obtendríamos un sonido totalmente distinto. Este riff es una de esas cosas que caracteriza al tema y respetar este patrón es fundamental a mi parecer.

Estoy contento con este trabajo porque en primera instancia mi intención en HIVE era públicar solo solos de guitarra pero la verdad es que disfruto mucho haciendo algo distinto, tanto así que pienso seguir haciendo este tipo de covers para ustedes.

When I set out to play it I could notice that the main riff, although it is simple, as far as the chords are concerned, since they are still fifth chords, it was difficult for me at first to get it right. Its difficulty lies in the hand that carries the pick. To reproduce this sound correctly it is necessary to hit the strings always "plectrum down" and it becomes complex because the rhythm is quite fast and with accents that cannot be ignored because if we did it we would get a totally different sound. This riff is one of those things that characterizes the theme and respecting this pattern is fundamental in my opinion.

I'm happy with this work because in the first instance my intention in HIVE was to publish only guitar solos but the truth is that I really enjoy doing something different, so much so that I plan to continue doing this kind of covers for HIVE.
