Many have already talked about this movie in this community and the reviews it has received have been very good, especially during the first weeks of release. Maybe I'm a little late, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to go to the movies and see this charming movie that made me relive very nice moments of my childhood.

In my opinion, Mario is a perfect movie in terms of story, animation and music. It has good moments of reflection that are perfectly balanced with laughter and comedy, which makes it a gem. I think the movie has a lot of potential to develop and is an excellent way to kick off this story, which I hope they will continue.

Muchos ya han hablado de esta película en esta comunidad y las críticas que ha recibido han sido muy buenas, especialmente durante las primeras semanas de estreno. Quizás llego un poco tarde, pero no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de ir al cine y ver esta encantadora película que me hizo revivir momentos muy lindos de mi infancia.

En mi opinión, Mario es una película perfecta en cuanto a historia, animación y música. Tiene buenos momentos de reflexión que se balancean perfectamente con risas y comedias, lo cual la convierte en una joya. Creo que la película tiene mucho potencial para desarrollarse y es una excelente manera de dar inicio a esta historia, de la cual espero que continúen.

Values present in the film

The main thing I want to rescue are the values present, and the first one I would like to comment on is the family union we see between Mario and Luigi. The two of them are more than a team and complement each other perfectly. They both support each other and understand that they are each other's support. On the other hand, their family is not entirely sympathetic to the duo's decisions, however, don't we find many families in this situation?

And that brings me to the second value, persistence. Even though his father is not supportive, Mario wants to prove himself, to show that he can achieve his dreams as long as he has the desire to do so. I think that is precisely what leads this couple to get into all this mess that triggers the film.

Not giving up is a flag that we see present throughout the film, not only by those we consider heroes, but also by the lovable villains that make an appearance. I think not giving up is a value that has been lost these days. When things don't go our way the first time around, we just dismiss the idea and give up. This movie shows us that we should always fight, even when things seem uphill.

Valores presentes en la película

Lo principal que quiero rescatar son los valores presentes, y el primero que me gustaría comentar es la unión familiar que vemos entre Mario y Luigi. Ellos dos son más que un equipo y se complementan perfectamente. Ambos se apoyan y entienden que son el apoyo del otro. Por otro lado, su familia no es del todo comprensiva con las decisiones de este dúo, sin embargo, ¿no encontramos muchas familias en esta situación?

Y eso me lleva al segundo valor, la persistencia. A pesar de que su padre no lo apoya, Mario quiere demostrar su valía, demostrar que puede alcanzar sus sueños siempre y cuando tenga el deseo de lograrlo. Creo que eso es precisamente lo que lleva a esta pareja a meterse en todo este lío que desencadena la película.

No rendirse es una bandera que vemos presente a lo largo de todo el film, no solo por aquellos que consideramos héroes, sino también por los adorables villanos que hacen acto de presencia. Creo que no rendirse es un valor que se ha perdido actualmente. Cuando las cosas no salen como queremos a la primera, simplemente descartamos la idea y nos rendimos. Esta película nos demuestra que siempre hay que luchar, incluso cuando las cosas parezcan cuesta arriba.

References to the game are found from minute 1. The way the movie starts is a hit of nostalgia and I must say that from that precise moment my eyes watered. But that's not all, throughout the film we see how more and more characters and scenes from Mario Bros. worlds appear, and it is perfectly accompanied by the music, which always calls your attention and tells you: "you're in a video game".

This kind of references are the ones that make me confirm that this movie was made more for adults than for children, since those of us who played this game as children are the ones who will understand all those "easter eggs" that are presented.

Las referencias al juego se encuentran desde el minuto 1. La forma en que inicia la película es un golpe de nostalgia y debo decir que desde ese preciso momento se me aguaron los ojos. Pero eso no es todo, a lo largo del filme vamos viendo cómo van apareciendo más y más personajes y escenas de los mundos de Mario Bros. Además, está perfectamente acompañada por la música, que siempre te hace un llamado de atención y te dice: "estás en un videojuego".

Este tipo de referencias son las que me hacen confirmar que esta película fue hecha más para adultos que para niños, ya que los que jugamos con este juego de niños somos los que vamos a entender todos esos "easter eggs" que se van presentando.

Music:

Not only the music of the game is present here, as expected, but I think it's fantastic that they have completed the soundtrack with songs like "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC or "Take on Me", which make reference to the 70's, 80's and 90's. That really adds value, because it reminds us of the time when this wonderful game came out. I think it was a smart and interesting move.

I can't stop talking about "Peaches", the song that went viral and that in the original language is performed by the beloved Jack Black. Without a doubt, you could say it's the crown jewel of this movie and, of course, it stays in your mind for days.

No solo la música del juego está presente aquí, como era de esperarse, sino que me parece fantástico que hayan completado la banda sonora con temas como "Thunderstruck" de AC/DC o "Take on Me", que hacen referencia a los años 70, 80 y 90. Eso realmente le da valor, porque nos recuerda la época en la que salió este maravilloso juego. Creo que fue una movida inteligente e interesante.

No puedo dejar de hablar de "Peaches", la canción que se hizo viral y que en el idioma original es interpretada por el querido Jack Black. Sin duda, podría decirse que es la joya de la corona de esta película y, por supuesto, se queda en tu mente durante días.

Beloved Villains:

Before seeing the movie and even when I got to the movie theater and saw the promotional poster they had, I wondered: why did Bowser appear instead of Mario? Why do they give more importance to the villain than the hero himself? My questions were answered and more than answered.

I think that nowadays there are many movies that look for the villain to have a more transcendental role than being hated by everyone, and that was achieved not only by Bowser, but also by Donkey Kong, who are simply adorable. No one hates them, we all love them and understand that their intentions throughout the movie were based on love.

Amados Villanos:

Antes de ver la película e incluso cuando llegué a la sala de cine y vi el póster promocional que tenían, me preguntaba: ¿por qué aparecía Bowser en vez de Mario? ¿Por qué le dan más importancia al villano que al propio héroe? Mis preguntas fueron contestadas y con creces.

Creo que en la actualidad son muchas las películas que buscan que el villano tenga un papel más trascendental que ser odiado por todos, y eso lo logró no solo Bowser, sino también Donkey Kong, quienes son sencillamente adorables. Nadie los odia, todos los amamos y entendemos que sus intenciones durante toda la película estuvieron basadas en el amor.

Peach:

The princess is one of my favorite characters in the entire plot. She is simply a warrior who, while she doesn't need to be saved, she does need the help of others to accomplish her task, which is to defend her land. I think Peaches also teaches us an important value, resilience, as she was able to adapt to a world that was not her own and defend it.

Peach:

La princesa es uno de mis personajes favoritos en toda la trama. Es simplemente una guerrera que, si bien no necesita ser salvada, sí necesita la ayuda de otros para lograr su cometido, que es defender su tierra. Creo que Peaches también nos enseña un valor importante, la resiliencia, ya que ella fue capaz de adaptarse a un mundo que no era el suyo y defenderlo.
