Hello, Hive DIY friends! I am with you once again to share a craft tutorial with recycled materials. This time I'm going to show you how to make some vases with recycled bottles from the Christmas holidays, a work with few materials but with a nice result.

¡Hola, amigos de Hive DIY! Me encuentro una vez más con ustedes para compartir un tutorial de manualidades con materiales reciclados. En esta oportunidad voy a mostrarles cómo realizar unos floreros con botellas recicladas de las fiestas navideñas, un trabajo con pocos materiales pero con un lindo resultado.

The materials we will need are: Glass bottles, brush, sponge and paint, eggshells, liquid silicone and white glue, water-based varnish and candy wrappers.

Los materiales que vamos necesitar son: Botellas de vidrio, pincel, esponja y pintura al frio, cáscaras de huevo, silicón líquido y pega blanca, barniz al agua y envoltorios de golosinas.

We begin by applying several coats of paint to the bottle, preferably with a sponge, in order to achieve greater coverage; in this case I used the smallest bottle.

Iniciamos dando varias capas de pintura a la botella con una esponja preferiblemente, de modo de lograr una mayor cobertura; en este caso yo usé la botella más pequeña.

Once it is well painted, we place the design. Either with liquid silicone or white glue, we will glue small pieces of eggshells all over the surface of the bottle, trying to make a mosaic-like design.

Una vez que quede bien pintada, pasamos a colocarle el diseño. Ya sea con silicón líquido o pega blanca, vamos a pegar trozos pequeños de cáscaras de huevo en toda la superficie de la botella, tratando de hacer un diseño tipo mosaico.

We can now paint the shells to see how the work is coming along. Several coats of paint may be necessary.

Ya podemos ir pintando las cáscaras para ver cómo va quedando el trabajo. Pueden ser necesarias varias capas de pintura.

The design is ready with all the shells already glued and painted.

Ya está listo el diseño con todas las cáscaras ya pegadas y pintadas.

Finally, we are going to varnish our bottle with water gloss to achieve a better finish.

Finalmente, vamos a barnizar nuestra botella con brillo al agua para lograr un mejor acabado.

And this is how the vase from a recycled beer bottle looks like. I placed a beautiful Alpinia flower that I cut from my garden. A nice vase without a doubt.

Y así queda el florero a partir de una botella de cerveza reciclada. Yo le coloqué una hermosa flor de Alpinia que corté de mi jardín. Un lindo florero sin lugar a dudas.

Now I will show you how to make a very fun and colorful vase with confetti from candy wrappers. For that we will use the widest bottle.

Ahora les mostraré cómo hacer un florero muy divertido y colorido con confeti de envoltorios de golosinas. Para eso utilizaremos la botella más ancha.

We will cut thin strips of metallized candy wrappers and then cut them crosswise to make the confetti.

Vamos a cortar tiras delgadas de envoltorios metalizados de golosinas y luego recortamos de manera trasversal para lograr el confeti.

We will do this process until we consider it is enough according to the size of our bottle.

Haremos este proceso hasta que consideremos que es suficiente según el tamaño de nuestra botella.

We will apply white glue all over the surface of the bottle; we can do it in parts to make the process easier.

Aplicaremos pega blanca por toda la superficie de la botella; podemos hacerlo por partes para que el proceso sea más fácil.

We apply the confetti to the bottle, making sure that there is no space left uncovered. I must say that I found this process quite relaxing and entertaining.

Vamos aplicando el confeti a la botella, cerciorándonos de que no queden espacio sin cubrir. Debo decir que este proceso me resultó bastante relajante y entretenido.

And this is how our second vase looks with a metallic and very colorful finish.

Y así queda nuestro segundo florero con un acabado metalizado y muy colorido.

I added a pretty red Calla Lily that I also cut from my garden. I loved the result.

Yo le coloqué una bonita Cala roja que también corté de mi jardín. Me encantó este resultado.
