When you make investments, you expect that you will get a good return from your investment. The price will go up and you will make money. The price goes up first and then it starts going down. It does not go as per your expectation.

Will you hold the asset? If yes, then how long are you going to hold that? Do you have an exit strategy? You definitely do not like to lose everything that you invest there. You should have an exit strategy so that you can get out of the market on time.

When you put stop loss, it saves your capital. Sometimes things happen so quickly that you do not have a chance to exit your position. What happened with LUNA and UST is a good example. The price crashed so fast that investors did not get a chance to exit. You have to diversify your investments in order to minimize the risk.
