How is your season so far, especially in the Modern format?
Target practice is one of the most frequent rulesets that show up in the battle when I play these days.
It helps sometimes to check the definition of the ruleset so no mistake appears in the arena.
Battle Ruleset:
Going the Distance: Only Monsters with Ranged attack may be used in battles
Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability
What Doesn’t Kill You: All Monsters have the Enrage ability

Mana for this battle was almost short to execute my strategy. I can't believe that my monsters faced Zaku in the arena.
Fire summoner of legend came into the arena to smash my team up. It was not great the final result when the table of power turned in my favor.

My Battle Mage Secrets Combat Link
My battle plan was simple due to the value of the Mana cap set in the battle. I was to put in line the warriors with the lowest value of the maximum range attack points. My defense was only about additional armor from Ravenhood. I planned and triggered the counter-offensive after the boost from Marksrat and the protection on all friendly monsters.
My opponent planned to strike all adversary's positions with the blast ability present on the field. I was lucky that only range warriors were in the arena. All range attacks hit first the protection before the health point. My opponent counted on the special abilities of his summoner.
The battle's outcome could have been worse if the opponent were allowed to select spell-casting warriors.
A blast-performing summoner in certain conditions can be easily blocked.
