Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead is an upcoming American coming-of-age black comedy film, serving as a remake of the 1991 classic. Directed by Wade Allain-Marcus and written by Chuck Hayward, the movie stars Simone Joy Jones, Ms. Pat, Jermaine Fowler, June Squibb, and Nicole Richie. The story centers on 17-year-old Tanya Crandell (played by Jones), whose summer plans are disrupted when her mom leaves for a last-minute retreat and the unexpected death of the elderly babysitter. Opting to maintain her mother's vacation, Tanya takes on a job as an assistant to a fashion executive while caring for her siblings. The film is set to hit theaters in the United States on April 12, 2024.
