En un campeonato mundial de ajedrez, ya se Blitz o clásico, verás unas tablas en 13 jugadas y mucho menos una partida en la que solo se hicieron jugadas de caballos. Esto lo protagonizaron Daniil Dubov y Ian Nepomniachtchi, quienes solo obtuvieron la pérdida de medio punto para ambos jugadores, ya que su encuentro, según el árbitro principal, Daniil Dubov y Ian Nepomniachtchi, habían acordado tablas antes de jugar la partida.

El Árbitro Principal, el árbitro internacional (IA) Iván Syrovy, informó su decisión de dar 0 puntos a ambos contendientes basándose en las subsecciones 11.1 y 12.9.5 de las Leyes del Ajedrez de la FIDE:

• 11.1. Los jugadores no realizarán ninguna acción que desprestigie el juego del ajedrez.
• 12.9.5. Alternativas de que dispone el árbitro en relación con las sanciones: reducir los puntos obtenidos en la partida por el jugador infractor.

_{The Chief Arbiter, International Arbiter (IA) Ivan Syrovy, reported his decision to award 0 points to both contestants based on subsections 11.1 and 12.9.5 of the FIDE Laws of Chess:
11.1. Players shall not perform any action that brings the game of chess into disrepute.
12.9.5. Alternatives available to the arbiter in relation to penalties: reduce the points obtained in the game by the offending player.}

Según Syrovy, las jugadas realizadas en la partida demuestran que Dubov y Nepomniachtchi habían pactado de antemano el resultado de la partida. Los jugadores apelaron la decisión, lo que dio lugar a una remisión al Comité de Apelación. El Comité votó por unanimidad (3/3) rechazar el recurso. The players appealed the decision, which resulted in a referral to the Appeals Committee. The Committee voted unanimously (3/3) to reject the appeal.
