Se ha disputado la segunda jornada de las eliminatorias de Conmebol para el próximo Mundial de Fútbol, ha disputarse en el 2026; la selección de Venezuela, quien cayó derrotada contra Colombia el pasado jueves 7 de este mes, debería cumplir el rol de local contra su similar de Paraguay que en la anterior jornada, de local, no pasó del empate contra la selección de Perú; justamente esos dos encuentros con resultados nada favorables, obligaba a ambas selecciones a sumar para no quedar relegadas en las últimas posiciones al comienzo de este torneo clasificatorio.

Por el lamentable resultado del encuentro anterior, el cuerpo técnico Vinotinto liderado por "Bocha" Batista, decidieron jugar con un esquema diferente, pero sin dejar de ser ofensivo; para este encuentro se decidió jugar con el esquema 4-4-2, dejando atrás el 4-3-3. Este encuentro se disputó entre dos selecciones que no tienen un presente goleador, en mi opinión es una de las características principales y es la que los ha mantenido alejado de los puestos clasificatorios en la anterior eliminatoria, eso hizo que en este encuentro, las oportunidades deberían valer oro porque seguramente con tan solo un gol sería suficiente para conseguir la victoria y justamente en el tiempo añadido, la selección de Venezuela obtuvo una importante victoria frente a todo un país que los apoyará en cada jornada de esta clasificatoria.
