The work that I share with you today is a Christmas carol that was published for the first time at the end of the 19th century. The author of this work is not known, nor is the country where it originates; It is not clear if it is a German song, probably composed by Martin Luther, or if it is American, although many prefer the latter option. Whoever composed Away in a Manger, in addition to achieving a beautiful melody, has managed to transmit a message of faith and hope to many generations and everything indicates that it will continue to be so for much longer.

  I really enjoyed the recording process. This time I made an arrangement for harp, cello, double bass, voices, percussion and two alto flutes, which gave me the opportunity to try a new library of orchestral sounds from LABS. This work captivated me with its sweetness, and when reading its verses I clearly felt that both melody and harmony expressed the meaning of the text very well, especially that of the last stanza:

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.

  May this time be a time of encounter and peace that allows us to regain strength and renew faith and hope to start the coming year with more energy and optimism and with more love and kindness.

  La obra que hoy les comparto es un villancico que fue publicado por primera vez a finales del siglo XIX, no se conoce el autor de esta obra, tampoco el país donde se origina; no se tiene claro si es una canción Alemana, compuesta probablemente por Martín Lutero, o sí es norteamericana, aunque muchos se inclinan por la última opción. Quien haya compuesto Away in a Manger además de lograr una hermosa melodía, ha logrado transmitir un mensaje de fe y de esperanza a muchas generaciones y todo indica que seguirá siendo así por mucho más tiempo.

  Disfrute mucho el proceso de grabación. En esta ocasión hice un sencillo arreglo para arpa, cello, contrabajo, voces, percusión y dos flautas alto, lo que me dio la oportunidad de probar una nueva librería de sonidos orquestales de LABS. Esta obra me cautivo por su dulzura, y al leer sus versos sentí claramente que tanto melodía como armonía expresaban muy bien el significado del texto, en especial el de la última estrofa:

Permanece cerca de mí, Señor Jesús, te pido que te quedes
Cerca de mí para siempre, con tu amor, rezo
Bendice a todos los queridos niños en tu tierno cuidado
Y prepáranos para el cielo para vivir contigo allí.

  Que este tiempo sea un tiempo de encuentro y de paz que nos permita recobrar fuerzas y renovar la fe y la esperanza para iniciar el próximo año con más energía y optimismo y con más amor y bondad.
