Hive Open Mic 167 - "Rock 'N' Roll Mashup" Duet Cover With Hopestylist

Hello Hive Open Mic community!
Finally here after a short break, I haven't been so well and it affected my voice so the unwanted break. I miss singing without obstacles in my voice and I'm glad I'm back stronger.

I didn't stop listening to music while on my break so I learnt some songs and hopefully, I'll be sharing covers of them one after the other. Honestly, I didn't plan to sing and share a cover today but I was motivated to by my sister @hopestylist who just came home for a brief holiday.

We saw the theme, thought of a song that could fit in and it happened to be a song we knew well enough as siblings from a very long time. The theme of the week "Otaku" meaning "Obsession over anime, Manga or computer technology". I'm not a fan of anime but I plan to explore that aspect of entertainment soon.

You could say I am a huge fan of animated movies, an otaku for them as I do enjoy watching them and I specially love the musical ones like Barbie. So yeah, I decided to share a duet cover of one of Barbie collection songs with my sister @hopestylist.

The song "Rock n Roll Mashup" is one of my favourite songs from Barbie collection and it has a lovely story behind it which made me smile so much while singing it. We both couldn't stop talking about the story while we rehearsed the song and that made it more fun for us.

We didn't take so much time to come up with this, my sister just returned yesterday so you can imagine the very short time we used in singing this as good as we did. Not perfect like the original but we had fun doing it and I think that is what matters.

We did some backup vocals, used some beat from the instrumentals we got after extracting on Moises... It was a bit challenging doing the editing work but we are glad it came out well enough.
