I managed to grab some time to update my C64 game that I have been programming.
It's interesting going back to an older period programming language where you don't have access to the "quality of life" features of modern languages. That said, the folks behind the programming environment are doing their best to add some features all the time.
This update allows the player to move between rooms. There is not much memory on these little 8-bit machines, so will be interesting to see if my approach allows a big enough map.
Of course as soon as you move between rooms, you need to see the affects of your actions remain. Therefore I had to develop "object permanence" - when you open a door it should still be open when you go back.
