The infamous Typhoid Mary, who caused numerous typhoid outbreaks in New York City, was released from her first period of forced isolation in 1910. Finally, in 1942, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which allowed for the detainment and internment of Japanese-Americans living on the West Coast.
