Caracas An Unpredictable City

A normal day with the weather in Caracas, so far this year we have lived the variables of climate change, all these months we are affected by a strong drought, not only in Caracas, Venezuela, but also in any corner of the world. The atmosphere becomes heavy and sticky, while the sun's rays cook our heads. The heat is more frequent every day and our natural landscapes are becoming very arid. Vegetation and trees struggle to survive, while animals suffer from the scarcity of water, as the rains are largely absent.

Caracas Una Ciudad Impredecible

Un día normal con el clima de Caracas, lo que va del año hemos vivido las variables del cambio climático, todos estos meses nos afecta una fuerte sequía, no solo en Caracas, Venezuela, sino también en cualquier rincón del mundo. La atmósfera se torna pesada y pegajosa, mientras los rayos del sol nos cocinan nuestra cabeza. Los calorones todos los días son más frecuentes y nuestros paisajes naturales se tornan muy áridos. La vegetación y los árboles luchan por sobrevivir, mientras que los animales sufren por la escasez del agua, ya que las lluvias son las grandes ausentes.

One of these days when I arrived home, around five in the afternoon, very hot, I noticed a light smoke coming out of the mountain, when I pay more attention, a fire was starting to spread in the Warairarepano, our vegetable lung. I was very sorry to witness this, because every time a fire spreads, many hectares of vegetation are burned, and we know that for the soil to recover, many years go by. So I went up to the apartment and, while I was getting ready to make dinner, about an hour and a half would have passed.

Uno de estos días que llegué a casa, cerca de las cinco de la tarde, muy acalorada, noté, una leve humarada que salía de la montaña, cuando pongo más atención estaba comenzando a propagarse un incendio en el Warairarepano, nuestro pulmón vegetal. Me dio mucho pesar presenciar esto, ya que cada vez que se propaga un incendio, son muchas las hectáreas de vegetación que se queman, y sabemos que para que se recupere el suelo, pasan muchos años. Así subí al apartamento y, mientras me preparaba para hacer la cena, habrían pasado como una hora y media.

When I looked out of my balcony, my surprise was greater, the fire had already spread, I could not believe it, I managed to capture those images with great pain, to be able to see the extent of the disaster. After a few moments the fire was extinguished by the firefighters, and it was already being reported on social networks.

Al ver por mi balcón, mi sorpresa fue mayor, ya el incendio se había propagado, no lo podía creer, logre capturar esas imágenes con mucho dolor, para poder ver el alcance del desastre. Ya después de unos momentos el incendio fue sofocado por los bomberos, ya se reportaba por las redes sociales

The other day was no less usual, I woke up with a clear morning and what better with the singing of some birds, the sun began to warm up, the imposing mountain that surrounds us, after the fire was like this. At noon the weather was different, a thick fog was covering the whole panorama at a very fast pace, at times it dissipated and returned again defiantly.

El otro día no fue menos usual, me levanté con una mañana despejada y que mejor con el canto de algunas aves, ya el sol comenzaba a calentar, la montaña imponente que nos arropa, después de incendio quedo así. Al llegar mediodía el clima fue otro, una espesa neblina a pasos muy rápido fue cubriendo todo el panorama, por momentos se disipaba y volvía otra vez desafiante

The next day passed very normally, hot all day, but after six o'clock in the evening the fog returned more willingly and covered us again until the early hours of the morning. The dawn started quite cool with a less hot day. And suddenly a downpour fell, heralding the arrival of the rains.

El Siguiente día transcurrió muy normal, calor todo el día, pero entrada las seis de la tarde volvió más voluntariosa la neblina y nos volvió a tapar hasta la madrugada. El amanecer se inició bastante fresco con un día menos caluroso. Y repentinamente cayó un aguacero, que anunciaba la llegada de las lluvias.

So our city is unpredictable, with a climate that can be condescending to all tastes, sometimes there can be a lot of drought that reflects us as a dirty city of dry leaves and trees with bare branches, other times we see how our plants bloom, the bushes are dressed in colors and our Warairarepano shows itself imposing and greenish, other times are so hot, but other times our days are freezing. And the mornings are so splendid that our birds sing and flutter all over the valley of Caracas, whether the sky is blue or overcast. I am finishing my writing and it is raining lightly.

De manera que nuestra ciudad es impredecible, con un clima que puede ser condescendiente a todos los gustos, a veces puede haber mucha sequía que nos refleja como una ciudad sucia de hojas secas y árboles con ramas desnudas, otras veces vemos como florecen nuestras plantas, los arbustos se visten de colores y nuestro Warairarepano se muestra imponente y verdoso, otros momentos son tan calientes, pero otras veces nuestros días son helados. Y las mañanas son tan espléndidas que nuestras aves cantan y revolotean por todo el valle de Caracas, estando el cielo azul o encapotado. Estoy terminando mi escrito y está lloviendo poco.
